    the shipwrecks at the bottom of the black sea are super well preserved because the water on top is freshwater and the bottom is saltwater. the different waters don't mix which means that oxygen doesn't get down to the saltwater which means that most organisms can't live there = the shipwrecks doesn't decompose

    When volcanoes under glaciers erupt, they sometimes melt the bottom of the glacier into a subglacial lake which can suddenly burst out into nearby river valleys in a massive flood called a jökulhlaup (which is an Icelandic word meaning "glacial run"). Jökulhlaups have been powerful enough to damage and destroy bridges; one jökulhlaup caused by the 1755 eruption of the Katla volcano had an estimated flow rate of as high as 400,000 cubic metres per second-greater than the eight greatest river systems in the world put together.
