I am 53, and my Dad always told us to take care of what we had, and it would last longer. Keeping up on maintenance and keeping things clean keeps things going. Exactly what you are saying, and you are absolutely correct.
Yes! Taking care of what you have is so important. I'm especially strict with taking care of my clothes. Washing in cold water using an eco-friendly detergent, turning clothes inside out, making sure zippers are closed and pockets are empty, using mesh bags for delicate/thin fabrics, taking any stains out as soon as I notice them, air drying everything (we don't have a dryer). I also make sure that I take my winter jackets to the dry cleaner at the end of the winter season. Lighter jackets I wash myself. I clean the wardrobes regularly and make sure I protect my clothes from moths. Every now and then I have certain items dyed - most of my clothing is solid colors so it's easy to have things dyed black, blue, green etc. It really extends the life of the clothes. One thing about the washing instructions on the labels though. If something is labeled as dry clean only, that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be hand washed or machine washed, unless it's a very intricate design (like formal wear). It might just mean that the company didn't test how the garment washes and they don't want you to find out that the colors bleed or that the item shrinks in the wash (which would indicate the item is low quality). Certain hand wash only things can also be machine washed on the delicate cycle in cold water, with very mild detergent.
My family are classic car people and they wash, wax and detail their cars frequently and keep them inside when it’s super hot out. I’m more minimal in approach and am not a car buff at all, but their ways have rubbed off on me and now like a dentist or doctor appointment, I don’t put off taking care of maintenance. 2019 model still going strong. Classic car tip: You don’t have to go to their lengths and be that fussy, but if you consider washing or waxing your car periodically, you will help preserve your paint jobs longer as well, especially in the heat.
Some brands like Apple, Pixel , Samsung recently changed their software policies by promising 5-6 yrs of maintenance. i think that's a very smart thing. Mostly because these days there's not much difference between old and new phone models. Just some crazy ""AI"" features lol
I used wooden spoons, books, even cereal boxes to keep the windows open as a kid. Craziness! I truly don't know how we made it with so little injuries lol
One thing I would recommend for homeowners. When you need a new roof, and if you get a lot of snow in your area, have ice guard placed under your roof. It is worth every penny!
I agree!!! Also, most Targets that I’ve been to, have a bin that recycles old devices! I take old devices, plastic bags and empty out my car trash when I go into Target 😂

Take care of the little things and the big things will take care of themselves! That can apply to your things as well as your life.
"It might look cute falling down" 😂😂can't stop laughing! This will be my motto now when choosing protective cases for phone, laptop etc 😂😂😂
@@terev. sameee I laughed out loud, FACTS
I love the rubber car mats, I just put over my OEM car mats. I agree with car maintenance, it does keep it running longer.
