I just want to caution you and your subscribers about Metformin. I was treated for Type 2 Diabetes for over twenty years with Metformin. About four years ago I was diagnosed with Stage three kidney failure. My Nephrologist tells me Metformin caused the kidney failure. You are very smart Missy to try and get your A1C down ASAP to get off these medications. I am now 85 and off so many medications and keeping at Stage 3 with my diet and exercise. Good luck on your journey. 💕💜❤️
I don't blame you for not taking it. They need to test that to see if they can figure out what happened. I had a friend who took Metformin and he had to quit taking it. It didn't help him at all and made him feel really bad. And, I think, if I remember right, both of my parents had been on metformin and they quit taking it because it didn't help them either.
My hubby used to take it,he said he felt achy in his joints all the time. He now takes berberine. Resveratrol is good too. I want to cook the Mediterranean way when I get to a place in life that I can. Cut out processed sugar and carbs.
@@FromtheHoller like I said, watch partins heritage homestead. She did an experiment on her hubby last winter. He ate store bought bread with dinner one night,it spiked his sugar. She made homemade bread the next day with grain She milled herself. He ate it with dinner,no problem at all. It's the food,it's making us sick.

I’ve been taking Metformin for about 6 years. My A1C has stayed down below 7 for the past 3 years and I’m not good about taking it, because my daily numbers stay down if I watch what I eat. Don’t let them put you on Ozempic either because it may help with weight and your numbers but it’s known to give you gastroperisis which is a nasty gut disease. I’ve had that, it’s not fun for sure. I was on Ozempic and I had an episode where I almost died. My blood sugar plummeted and put me in a coma at home. When my boyfriend came to my home, I was in a coma with my eyes totally open with no response. He panicked big-time and thought I was dead. My boyfriend called the ambulance and they hooked me up to an iv glucose bag and off to the hospital we went once they got me to respond. I will never take weight loss drugs again because I really did almost die, and this was a bad few years on metformin where my kidneys were negatively affected.

I'm on insulin and 1 Synjardy a day. Insulin was the only way to get mine under control. Im on an omni pod pump and a dexcom to check my sugar level all day long. If my # goes up it will automatically give me a little insulin. It gives me 2units an hour. I also take a mounjaro shot once a week. This is the best my numbers have ever been. I didnt do well on metformin.
Missy I take 1000 mg in morning and evening everyday for 20 years, only time I have seen this happen is some how it got moisture ❤️🙏 never had it happen to me on that med but on some others
That was my 1st thought too. We tried to drizzle water on it and leave it laying...nothing. We drizzled water and put it in my pill container...nothing. We even added more water and it did nothing anywhere near that
Use to be on metaformin for years. It’s a horrible medicine to take. I now take Rybelus and Jardiance. Great meds and feel so much better. I would be concerned to, never saw it do that.
Contact the manufacturer. Contact the Food and Drug Administration. They have a customer service number. If it wasn’t exposed to moisture then it looks like a fluke in the manufacturing. At the end of the day, sometimes 💩happens. When dealing with the pharmacy, speak to the pharmacist not a tech. Don’t bother emailing. Do it in person.
I'm type2 and I started Mounjaro October 1, 2023. My A1C has been lowered to 6.3 (or lower by now) my blood pressure has improved, swelling in my feet and ankles has disappeared and I've lost almost 90lbs. I'm still on Metformin. I can't stand the taste 🤮 My daughter works at a pharmacy. I'll ask her if she's seen anything like this.
@@FromtheHoller It looks like ER so it has a special coating and layers are normal. Why it did that….i don’t know? Maybe it was around moisture ? If it was only a few pills, don't take those. Watch closely with all future doses. Keep away from any possible moisture.
I've seen this happen and it was due to moisture. Most likely it did have moisture from the environment. It would not necessarily need to get wet. The actual medication Metformin has been in news in most recently last 6yrs. I personally would not take this medication because of the damage that some testing has proven to cause the damage to one's body. Each manufacturer of all meds use different compounds to form these to pill form. I'm not aware of the device you use to store your meds for each day to dispense when it's time. I use a plastic weekly container marked with S-Sat these are not as tightly controlled as each day you snap the top to remove or snap to close they loosen up and yes Moisture from many areas of life can get too the medications. But, as I stated please do some intense study on the harm of this medication as side effects and others. I take Monjurno injection each Saturday and my A1C is great. There are many medications available to help us lower the damage that sugar does to our bodies. Missy, I would like to take this time to tell you I continue to keep your family close in my prayers. Bless each of you. I've been through the battle you are in from your son. My oldest brother was a Addict. Itcan tear family's apart and my prayer is for God to give you Strength and to remove the desire for your son to ingest any drugs. ❤🙏🏻♥️
Working as a med nurse, I've given ALOT of pills. I wouldn't administer those two, but wouldn't throw out the whole bottle. Pills get shook, and bounce we d around against each other during manufacturing, counting, and dispensing. Looks like what happened, it's gotten cracked and taken on moisture. IMO. It's still odd looking for sure! ❤
Yikes! I take a 1000 mg of Metformin twice a day, so that’s 4 pills a day since 2002. That is a scary looking pill. I’ve never liked that most of our medications are sourced from China. We don’t trust China, from a security perspective, on anything else, so why is it okay ti make ourselves so vulnerable by buying our medications from there? I’ve been wondering about that for a long time. I know it’s about money, but I think that alone puts us at huge risk. Once in awhile, my pharmacy gives me some brand I’ve never seen before, and I can tell right away because the pills look different. I always call to ask them about it because I want to be sure it’s the right medication and all, and they tell me my doctor would have to indicated no generics in the prescription, but they also tell me that my insurance wouldn’t put up with that. I’m glad you didn’t take it Missy. There are tons of books about how to reverse Type 2 Diabetes. I would love to be able to do that because it really stresses me out to have it and to be unable to really control it the way I would like to. I can’t seem to get good numbers and a lower A1C, no matter what I do. Be well & take care.
My mom couldn't swallow her Metformin tabs, so I cut them in half and put them in gel caps for her. They are hard and white inside and out. Those pills you got need to be tested ASAP! I am absolutely flabbergasted the pharmacy won't help you out.
Missy....I have had it happen when the pill set outside the Pharmacy bottle waiting for me to take it....I just took and kept going....However when my Dad was in the VA Hospital in Charleston, S.C. His neurologist told me to get him off Metformin..
I was going to suggest to show picture to manufacturer but I googled who manufactures Metformin and got 6 different companies😬. I would not have taken it either.

Ow Missy God bless! Listen, I was at Dr on Thursday am and in my Drs office the walls are very thin. I could hear the poor little older man ( I think he could have had a tad hard time hearing?) So he was screaming back at my Dr about him not wanting to be on metformin and not to even mention it again!!! Poor guy, so apparently he had a moment because he is diabetic but not taking any medication at all for it and that’s why he was there. A little time in hospital other day. He kept screaming at my Dr Metformin can give him cancer and to put him on something else!! He would say , so my Dr said would you take something starts with an S? Syarjes?? Can’t spell it and he agreed to it. Now this was just a total stranger but I do agree we shouldn’t just take what they give us before but we do a very diligent search on info if we get prescribed something. God bless and just my 10 cents.
After the Ozempic BS I'll never take a new med without full-on research. And bless that little man's heart! He shouldn't have to argue with his doctor like that to get them to listen! That's another issue I have and probably a whole other video 🤣
@@FromtheHollerOzemspic darned near killed me too, and it still might because it messed up my gallbladder real bad, and the doctors are now saying I am not a candidate for surgery because I wouldn’t survive it.
