Iv just heard this for the first time again in 20 years Yes i fkng cried like a bch Way of the Samurai is the greatest game that was ever created and ever will be created There is no game on earth that has ever been released that even comes 1% close to being the masterpiece that is Way of the Samurai The best game i have ever played in 30 years. 10/10 Every other game isnt even a 1/10 in comparison in my eyes BRING THIS GAME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ikr? It is a piece of art this game! This game gives so much, it is amazing. Really.. And to think that they even got Daisuke Ono to voice Don Donatelouse, it is amazing
Man, as a kid I'd played the hell out of this game and more or less the following games. But now listening to this, this is hitting me harder then expected. As a kid I never knew/understood that your character dies while fighting the government, unless you get that one ending where you basically give the government the middle finger and tell them to piss off. And now, years later, paired with history and a dose of The Last Samurai (even though it's just a movie) I will always feel bad for the samurai and it's sometimes heart wrenching. But a common thing, like real life samurai, your character along with an ally, basically fights to the death against a new government, that they were willing to fight even though they had no chance of winning, that they wanted to go out on their own terms: fighting and dying with honor rather then disgrace. God, I love the trilogy so much.
i eat snails the fourths story is lacking compared to the first three but it has a lot of features the others lack. I liked being able to switch between style regardless of which sword I was using, amongst other things. The best are definitely the first two though imo
I totally relate to this, this game was my favorite growing up, this soundtrack hits me in the same way. I got the chance to replay it on an emulator a while back and it was still just as awesome. I looked everywhere for it and couldn't find my copy, the nostalgia is real.
@@ElFreakinCid I played this game so many times as a kid and couldn't make the Suzu ending. I probably could now lol but this game was always good to me.
I always read the ending texts of this game in my best Morgan Freeman voice and then give a moment of reverent silence to let the theme play for awhile from 1:17
My disc has never really had trouble, at least it didn't prior to getting scratched. But for some reason it's always been the loudest damn PS2 disc I own.

I miss this game a lot
They really hit a homerun with the first game and never managed to capture the same energy again.
Way of the Samurai 3 is pretty good. 2 is alright. 4 kinda sucks. But 1 is definitely one of a kind.
What an absolutely beautiful violin solo at the end
21 years later and I still think of this gem…
The embodiment of this song start to Finnish is remarkable..I hope this song lives in all who cherish it
Good Old Days!!!!

There are actually three endings where your character definitely survives--he survives in both "leave the pass with Suzu" endings too.
There's a forth game. In case u didn't know

this games soundtrack is too good. check the credits of the guy who did it, he’s done some other awesome stuff. lots of tenchu games.
I forking knew his music sounded like something out of Tenchu for a reason!!! Everything makes sense now!!!
beautiful
This definitely deserves a remake for current day consoles.
I want this on Nintendo Switch.
the blue back on the PS2 gave me difficulties.

Does anyone know who played each instrument on the soundtrack?
You can find it here: www.mobygames.com/game/ps2/way-of-the-samurai/credits
Anyone else here after Ghost of Tsushima?
Play this soundtrack with that game... it made me sorta emotional because I played this so much back in 2001 and 2002
