I got you, I’m here to help! What helps my nails grow is always having nail polish or gel on, it acts like armor to protect your nails, and help prevent them from breaking:) also I moisturize in the evenings and wear gloves while cleaning/washing dishes because waterlogged nails = weak nails!

@@Oldaccountttek when I don’t have time to paint my nails with color or whatever, I also use a clear strengthening polish to help strengthen and protect my nail beds as I grow mine out. I have done this for a while and it has really helped mine! Just a tip :)

Yes you have lovely hands and nails.
If you put a matte top coat 1st before during your nail art, the lines come out crisp asf. You just top it off with a glossy top coat.

@@Snailmail1you need to push back the cuticle and use nail oil to make them stronger. It also helps if you keep a thicc layer on the natural nail from it splitting

Gel polish has hema in it so it can sometimes cause allergic reactions! To avoid this, try not to get it on your skin, and if you do, clean it up with some acetone before you cure it.
I'm in a nail group and a lot of people in it ended up getting the allergy from beetles brand (but it could just be because its a common, easy to get brand) so just be careful!!
Also I think they make hema free gel polish as well! Make the best choice for you, and protect your skin and nails🙂

This gel polish specifically is super high in hema. I haaaate beetles.
Any brand recommendations for ones with ones with no hema or less of it? I used to use the beetles and I got a allergic reaction, as much as they look expensive. No matter what I do now it just keeps flaring up when I use it. 😢
@@wanderingegg_ I developed a HEMA allergy and still use beetles heavily I jus stopped letting it touch my skin. which let me still do gel nails while staying safe! For some people it’s not too bad while for others I can be worse

I do nail art solely using this brand and, I highly recommend! They are super saturated when they need to be and the color goes on so smooth 👌

Same here, I swear by beetles gel, most of their colors are beautifully opaque by 2/3 coats. The lighter colors can be translucent, but it’s still super dependable.
I love this brand! I just did peacock-inspired nails today with lots of marbles colors. The green you used is my favorite color! Awesome job!
what i’ve found with beetles:
-it REALLY hurts if you accidentally cure it with a little left on your cuticle or bare nail, but it stops after a few seconds
-it hasn’t lasted a super long time for me, but i’m always using my hands at work
-the bottles of base/top coat get really sticky

@@thegraytergood I love neutral earthy tones so the City In Snow set is amazing. It’s only six colors but it’s stunning for neutral looks. Then the twilight set is also stun! It’s like thirty smaller bottles or something and it comes with a base coat and glossy top coat and matte top coat. Those are my favorites from the sets that I have :) twilight is like cyans pinks purples think vaporwave or retrowave color schemes. :)

Girl you already are with those fabulous natural nails, mine are kinda weak and flimsy so I can’t get them very long😭
i know this is 6 months late, sorry! but keep your nails polished as often as possible so they grow more and are stronger! and if you use gel polish that requires a uv light, get some uv resistant gloves to protect your hands and cuticles.
and to make polishing them more fun, find some designs you like to do on your nails! one thing that’ll keep you motivated is how many more designs you can do with your nails the longer they get, so be creative!
and i don’t know if nail strengtheners work since i never used them, but maybe try them! stronger nails are definitely the key to getting longer nails!
make sure you don’t have square nails! i used to have some pretty weak nails too, so them being square made them even more prone to breaking. round nails are better, or if round doesn’t look good on on you (like me) almond’s great too!
your nails are vulnerable after they’ve been wet, so let them dry before you do anything that could possibly break them! unless you have gel polish on, since that protects them well. and moisturise your hands and cuticles while they’re wet for optimal moisture.
use a cuticle cutter whenever you see your cuticles have grown. make sure they’re kind of moist before you cut them, but not too moist where there’s a risk of cutting your skin.
make sure the cuticle cutter you use is smooth and sharp. if it’s ragged or doesn’t do the job well, throw it away as not to damage your cuticles and possibly cut yourself. it’s happened before to me, it hurts! and use cuticle oil straight after.
this is optional, you can take pictures about every one or two weeks, depending on your nail growth rate. you’ll really be able to see the progress, it’ll surprise you!

Beetles gel is AMAZING!!! I never bought them from Amazon only thier website. But this is the ONLY nail polish I use. For some reason I can't get the gel to stick to my natural nails. But I only really do press ons anyway and they work wonderful for that 🥰
Oooooo I bet they have even more selection on their website:) and I feel you, I had trouble getting gel to stick to my nails too. What helped me was using cuticle softener to scrape every bit of dead skin off the nail plate and cleansing with 100% pure acetone (I get mine at Walmart!) I also use a soft nail file to add just a bit of texture to the nail plate because gel won’t stick to a smooth surface:) I hope this helps, I’m always here if you need anything!

It won’t stick to mine either 😭 it peels right off even with the base coat gel!

@@caylarose6658 yes girrrlll try it but also don’t do ANY set 1st within doing ur nails it’s gonna mess with the adhesive ability. also; i get my nail dehydrator + primer from either amazon, sally beauty or ulta really only ulta for the dehydrator theirs is best for value and quality sally beauty isn’t as hype imo unless ur getting the gelish brand itself other wise big fat no no

I’m a 15 year nail technician and my goodness you have beautiful hands and nails. Lol.. you did an amazing job with that steady hand doing that cute bow. Amazon has been getting a lot of great nail products that are getting easier to use for non-professionals. Trust, you can do just as well at home with regular cuticle oil and a pusher to help your nails grown long and strong.. a glass nail file is nice in the nails to. If your comfortable with cuticle trimming, I recommend doing the trimming while your skin is a little moist. And moisturize afterwards… Vaseline as soon as your done with your manicure. It’ll help with the skin breaking and tearing from the back.

I'm more curious about how you got such long, healthy nails! I tend to bite mine, but even when I do let them grow, they break as soon as they start to get past the skin and develop the little white tips.
here are some things that have really helped me 🥹 I used to have nail nubs but doing these things constantly have changed my life:)
- Use a gentle file, 180 grit or higher or a glass file, don’t clip or use a cheap abrasive file that shreds your nails
- Gloves every single time you’re doing dishes or cleaning, water is so so bad for your nails
- Always wear polish or gel, bc it’s like armor for your nails
- Round nail shape, square shape tends to break on corners because it’s a stress point (especially with bare nails)
- Put on cuticle oil + lotion at night before bed, more cuticle oil during the day if you can

This comment 👌 my story is I got a bad hema-allergy from cheap nailpolishes from Aliexpress and an off-brand selling from the UK. It took me and the doctors 6mo to figure it out, to the point where my hands were bleeding and my nails were falling off. Trying out press on nails for the first time after 4 years. Now it’s common knowledge that hema is dangerous, but it wasn’t back then. So be careful with cheap gel nailpolish!!

for anyone wanting to start gel nails these are my no.1 tips
1. don’t set gel on your skin
2. only get a uv light that is sold from the same brand you’re buying gel from (different gels don’t set with different lights)
3. get practice nails before you start doing them on yourself, it is harder to do than nail polish
(i have experience as my mum is training me to be a nail tech so don’t correct me 🥰)
