On page 30 under AGC action, I measured 0.88v, BUT Vb in the AC Gain section was measured at 82mVpp. That math made AC Gain equal to way less than 100. Can I redo this measurement even though the remainder of the AM section is complete? I feel confident my oscope setup was incorrect. I can't tell from your scope inset video what your settings are (my bad eyes on a laptop). Should I be reading amplitude or RMS from my measurement window? Back to AGC action - I read elsewhere to read a different value from the scope - can't find my source. Amplitude vs. RMS?? What I read may have caused me to pick up the wrong value for Vb.
There should be no problem going back and doing it again. Stick to Vpp, both for input and for measurement on the scope. Theoretically it should not matter (RNS vs Vpp) as long as you are consistent and use the same measurement for both input and output. However, they are asking for Vpp so it would be best to use that so you have a better chance of yor reading matching theirs. My scope was set to AC and 1V/div. The scope probe was set to 10X. Be sure to let the scope know your probe is set to 10X. What model scope do you have?
Good idea for the blocking cap!!! I ordered a test clip to build the same thing for future testing.
