@mrrogers302 yes... Oftentimes a player who Serena had beaten before... What it is, you bring you A+++ game against Serena. Comes the next round, you've drained yourself so much, you don't have the energy for the next round 🤣
Tennis matchups are so interesting. These players apart from Martina Hingis really struggled against Venus Williams, but players like Sharapova and Davenport who could push Venus didn't really trouble Serena.
8:16 have we ever seen any woman faster off the mark??? 😭 to generate that kind of speed from behind the baseline after such a long rally is a level of tenacity that can’t be taught
Surly not slow as a turd sabalenka..., her ball Striking abilities almost rival the Williams sisters.., but they were incredible athletes that pulled them through when it mattered most.., if Lyndsay davenport were a great athlete, she would be a Williams sister with incredible technique.

Honestly took so much fire 🔥 out of Venus when she matched up against Serena everytime because when she beat her you could tell it hurt her as much as it hurt Serena. Also when she lost to Serena, she would share the joy with Serena's win There was very little reciprocity on Serena's end
That is correct. Serena then doubled that feat by defeating Jennifer 8 straight times. 3 straight on hard courts, 2 on clay, 2 more on hard & #8 on grass

Not a brat ... Just really hated losing (especially to big sis, who she had never beaten before), that's why she worked extra hard at it and became the best
She outlasted all of them - she was the VERY best
Cornet’s scrappiness threw Serena off alot… Justine was that girl in 2007 but it took alot out of her and she couldn’t sustain that level long term.
Unfortunately she (Cornet) usually lost to the next player.
Serena hadn't even become the player back then and still beat them.

(14:50) the caption on the bottom right says Hingis beats Serena at 2001 US Open … but it should be the opposite.
Noticed this too I was so confused for a sec cuz I thought that was the year she played Venus in the final 😂
Serena’s loses to Capriati in 2004 and to Henin in 2007 were really tough
Justine's 3 straight wins in slams over Serena in 2007 were just insane. If not that elbow injury and retirement then Serena wouldn't reach 15 slams
