    Cornet’s scrappiness threw Serena off alot… Justine was that girl in 2007 but it took alot out of her and she couldn’t sustain that level long term.

    Tennis matchups are so interesting. These players apart from Martina Hingis really struggled against Venus Williams, but players like Sharapova and Davenport who could push Venus didn't really trouble Serena.

      Surly not slow as a turd sabalenka..., her ball Striking abilities almost rival the Williams sisters.., but they were incredible athletes that pulled them through when it mattered most.., if Lyndsay davenport were a great athlete, she would be a Williams sister with incredible technique.

      @@kennethwilliams3182The fact that there still hasn’t been a player as tall as Venus who could move as well as she did says it all, truly once in a lifetime athletes. Sabalenka has done well to make herself a competent mover considering her height, but its clear she doesn’t have the natural athletic ability the Williams did.

      @@obedoryx you’re right- Venus is as tall as the tallest WNBA players and somehow found unimaginable acceleration across the baseline. Not to mention her touch at the net considering her height.

      Justine's 3 straight wins in slams over Serena in 2007 were just insane. If not that elbow injury and retirement then Serena wouldn't reach 15 slams

      @@SmithyPL Not accurate, Serena's level after the Australian Open started to decline and was quite low throughout 2007. You can really see it in all her matches. The Serena of 2012 would have destroyed Henin without even trying.

    Cornet and Justine are just footnotes in herstry. Serena came through all those eras on top 23 plus 2 finals. Thats 25 in my book.

      Serena is GOAT no question, however Justine is no mere footnote. She has more slams than Clijsters, Sharapova, Hingis, Capriati and Davenport, just as many as Venus and Olympic gold.

      If Justine didn't have injury that forced retirement then Serena would never pass 15 slams. Serena collected her slams massively post Justine's retirement, beating girls twice smaller like Radwanska/Wozniacki that had no power in their games and were simply pushers

    Honestly took so much fire 🔥 out of Venus when she matched up against Serena everytime because when she beat her you could tell it hurt her as much as it hurt Serena. Also when she lost to Serena, she would share the joy with Serena's win
    There was very little reciprocity on Serena's end

      That is correct. Serena then doubled that feat by defeating Jennifer 8 straight times. 3 straight on hard courts, 2 on clay, 2 more on hard & #8 on grass

      I don't see how you can possibly attribute that to Capriati as cheating when she had nothing to do with all the bad calls.
