As an American who has made a living working for tips in high end service, thank you for being generous and transparent about your tipping! This amount is very generous but also when you receive a much higher level of service than you normally would, it can in turn motivate you to leave a much higher tip than you normally would (it's not expected). Also thanks for taking into consideration that alot of these people may have been out of work for a long time given the pandemic.
I agree with you 💯 ! Great service should be commended, especially if someone goes above and beyond to make your vacation extra special! I think it's great that they do what they do!!
We always tip above normal because we understand the struggles of those who are in customer service. It is a tough job! Now even worse with the pandemic and so many being out of work for so long.
@@TheLingerers I hope you don't do your own taxes 🤣 Not every business expense is a write-off, especially since the lines for this family business between what is business and what is personal are very blurred.
@@LuluVl15 it kills me seeing people paying $5,000 for a vacation but saying they can’t afford tips. How to say you’re cheap without saying you’re cheap.
@@leighnewman6160 When I was in my very early 20s I was a waitress for a while. I needed to make some money while going to school. ((For those of you that do not live and have never lived in the United States as a waitress we make far less than minimum wage. I think my salary per hour was $2.15. That is not anywhere close to minimum-wage and so my money to pay bills and other things came off of getting tips. I know those who are not from the United States definitely don’t understand that because they assume everybody is getting paid a living wage or at least minimum wage but that does not happen for servers.)) The individuals who would tipped the worst were almost always the ones that had the largest bill and the most people. It was always aggravating to me when my section would end up having an extremely large group of people. When that happens the amount of tables you take care of are reduced because so many tables are put together in your section for this one large group of people. In addition normally these very large groups of people stayed for very long amount of time. It wasn’t like they stayed for 45 minutes or maybe an hour and then left and then my tables went back to normal. They would be there for two hours or more. You would bust your backside off to ensure everybody got their meals on time and their appetizers on time and that they always had something to drink, alcoholic or nonalcoholic. You answered any and all questions. You did everything you were supposed to do plus some. Of course I was that way with all my tables even if they were only one person. You have that one enormous table and possibly 4 to 7 different checks. You would have one of the checks that would total more than $200. Where I was a waitress normally for a family of 4 a normal check would be $30-$60. A family of four spending over $200 is very large and normally included drinks from the bar. Of course you also had other checks at that table representing other families at that table. I’m not kidding when I say somebody would have a $300 bill and I would get a tip of two dollars. Over three hours at that table and never letting anybody’s drink go empty and always making sure they had food and anything they wanted immediately and I get a tip of two dollars. I could be working on a table like that for over three hours with basically or hardly any other tables in my section and get a total of $10 or $11 as a tip from the entire table. Occasionally you would have somebody walk up to you privately and apologize for the way the table tips. They normally will say they used to wait tables and completely understand the amount of work that goes into something like that and then they would hand you a really nice tip of $100. However they shouldn’t have to feel obligated to do that because the rest of the table and the different parties should’ve tipped correctly. I mean if I did my job poorly then I understand you not tipping me. However when I am doing my job where you even told the general manager walking around that I was the best waitress that y’all have ever had then why are you tipping me like that? Of course you never could say anything, even though you really wanted to, because as a waitress you just have to grin and bear it.
It would seem reasonable that tips should work out to about 15%-20% of what you spend on a cruise considering that's the percentage you are expected to pay for a meal.
@@leighnewman6160 You are entitled to your opinion, and I don't agree or disagree. But I think many people may not be from a tipping culture. In Europe for example salaries should cover for the job, tipping is only done in restaurants and there's no amount stated in advance. If you're not used to cruising, you are not used to the amounts that are probably normal. I'm not saying people who state that are all European, or whatever. But I do feel that it's difficult to fully judge a comment like that. Personally I've never been on a cruise, so have no idea what is normal, but I'm from a non-tipping culture, so hearing what the Trackers paid, made me realize I'll never be able to cruise with tipping amounts like that. (just trying to explain, haha. I'm sure I can't speak for everyone).
Maybe royal Caribbean or Carnival? I’m interested to see the Tracker’s opinion of other cruise lines and how they differ if you’re not someone who is particularly interested in spending the $ for a Disney cruise! I think I’m also interested to see them go to a new location since they have been to Castaway Cay multiple times now(:
Those cast members made your trip but I can guarantee you made a whole lot of people's days tipping that well. Y'all rule for doing that. Thank you for taking care of those who took care of you
Some of these comments about tipping are amazing!!! You can definitely tell the people who have never worked in the service industry. The "they are doing their job" line is the worst!! You would truly be shocked at what some people consider "your job". This being a family channel I will not go into specifics but believe me, as someone who has worked in the service industry for years, people can be really ugly, mean , demeaning and overly demanding. I truly appreciate the fact that the Trackers, besides being very appreciative and generous remember that the cast members have not worked for over a year and are still not operating at full capacity. People like the Trackers make working in the service industry a rewarding career, not just because they are generous but seem to be truly nice, kind people that would be a pleasure to work with.
You have to understand that tipping is extremely different outside of the US. I live in the UK and tipping isn't really a thing unless you have exceptional service (and even then it's only about 10-15%). In some cultures, tipping is even considered rude. The idea is that you get paid fairly to do your job and not have to rely on tips to get by in life. A tip should be a bonus on top of a fair wage and not making up for a poor wage.
@@jenblack98 So much this. I used to eat out once a month as a treat, got to know my servers really well where I went. on a 25 quid food bill, I’d round it up to £ 30 because that’s all that I could afford and they understood that. Once when I told them my dog was getting surgery, they refused to take a tip and said “keep it for your pup and bring in some pics next time, ok’ you bet I did !
I appreciate so much that you talked about tips. It's such a hard thing to judge and it's helpful to know what you did. Also great to hear that you're passing it along and likely making their day!
i feel like for the amount you paid for the concierge and cruise, the tipping was so respectable. i bet those cast members felt the love and appreciation from y’all!
I’m sad to see people saying they’re not “relatable” anymore. It’s not like they started their channel only a few years ago. They’ve been doing this for over ten years now and are FINALLY being recognized and compensated for their detailed, informative content. Been here since 20K subscribers when Tim had to get up painfully early for work every morning. I’m very, very happy for them.
Meeeeee toooo!!! They both had 9 to 5s when I started watching and I’m happy they have time with their son and are able to complete their bucket lists. I find them inspiring. I like to see and know before I go somewhere new so I appreciate their content. Some people are haters and weird. Thanks for sayin this.
I agree!! Isn’t this the American dream, work hard and have a wonderful life. Not only have they worked hard for years, they bring us daily entertainment!!! I’m so happy for them. I mean because of them I’ve seen things I’ll never have the chance to do and that is awesome!💚
I agree with this 100%! They’ve worked hard for what they have. I appreciate having this channel to go to for daily, positive entertainment. If you don’t like it, don’t watch, it’s as simple as that! 🤷♀️
As someone who works in the service/hospitality industry I truly appreciate how well you treated the CMs. As a former CM, I’ve had my fair share of guests who sometimes are having a bad day and we would get the brunt of it. Seeing y’all appreciate and value CMs truly means a lot.
That's an insane amount to tip. I'm glad you could bless them. It sounds like they deserve it. There's no way we could financially afford to do something like that.
@@typicaltay16 ya. They stayed in one of the two most expensive rooms on the entire ship. They also had a second room. I may be even saying it’s cheaper than it was because just for me and my family of three to go non-concierge regular room is like 6000. For this birthday trip everything they did was top-tier it was at least 20,000
Your take on tipping was respectful and showed a sincere appreciation for outstanding service. The cast members were undoubtedly thrilled and felt the love.
How considerate you both are of the kind and hard working people around you, that you actively notice the little things around you, and do not take them for granted (even after the many magical experiences you’ve lived) is so beautiful. You guys are such great people 🥺
Your tips made me so happy! I remember Pete Werner explaining DCL tipping, and how, these days, the ships are 1/3 full give or take-- it would be nice if people "showed up" in their tips, and remembered that the crew who rely a lot on tips are only getting about 1/3 of what they used to. Generosity. It feels good!
I suffer from motion sickness as well, the patches behind the ear works also the bands and ginger pills work as well. Loved your videos of the cruise! Thank you for sharing!
I always use Bonine over Dramamine and experience no side effects at all. In more rough seas I still feel slightly woozy but not truly sick - a blessing indeed!
My husband suffers really badly with sea sickness so as soon as we get on a ship he has acupuncture at the spa and he is great for 2 weeks so thankful it works as we love cruising Thanks for all your vlogs Can’t wait to get back to Florida Love from Northern Ireland 😘🤗👏🏻
Thank you for your generosity towards DCL crew members. We’ve talked with so many during our sailings and their need for these tips is so high always, but especially right now with lower capacity.
There was times when you could even afford a cruise never mind that much tipping, I love how far use have come and are able to help other people out by giving extra.
Just my opinion but $2600 in tips seems kinda crazy. I’m happy you guys did that for those cast members but that doesn’t seem like what would be expected even for the suite style room you had. Half that would be very generous.
I agree with you on tipping. I always give more. And if you can afford Concierge, than you should be able to tip well. It’s like going out to a nice restaurant for dinner. The crew members work so hard to make our cruises magical. 😎👍🏻
Appreciate your transparency about costs and tipping. Super helpful because it can be intimidating when you don't have much cruising experience. Thank you. 😊
I think what the cost breakdown does which is really important as reminds people that although it's a expensive endeavor the reason that the trip is so special and wonderful is because of the people there working it and to not use like the idea that you've spent a lot of money to not reciprocate that gratitude with an appropriate tip. We are going on our first cruise next year and this really helps me to make sure that I'm prepared in advance. Thank you!!
DCL Crew Members are over the top awesome. Their recommended gratuities seem awfully low. One time, we did tip the other steward in our section, because he had helped so much. It’s so easy to go to Guest Services and amend the amounts. Plus, they make it easy to offer a gratuity to other CMs on board. They have envelopes for those outside of the server and steward realm. I don’t think a ton of people give extra, because they were shocked when they saw what they got. Happy to see you tipped that much. It’s their income, well earned and totally deserved. I was Cast Member at Disneyland when I went on my two. I was so bummed when I wanted to left some Cast recognition cards. The cruise line had not converted to the new system, so the App I had wouldn’t let me send them. They couldn’t or wouldn’t give me the cards and said to leave on survey after my cruise. That wasn’t enough for me. Couldn’t email the Captain either. I ended up getting home, going onto company email and writing the direct executive the Captain and crew report to. He ended up forwarding me email to the Captain and ship’s leadership team … because I wanted the specific CMs onboard to get a cast to cast recognition on their record cards. I literally stressed that whatever training happening on the ships needs to happen at the Parks. Though, much of that exceptional hospitality is something so culturally innate in countries the vast majority of the crew comes from. Disney Cruise Line is so awesome though. The Remy price is worth it for what you get. Have only done Palo, which is worth it too (for the caviar alone). Disney just does it right. If it wasn’t so dang expensive. Can cruise several times on Carnival, Royal or Norwegian for the price of one DCL cruise
Nobody can ever say you aren’t generous. But I get it, those crew members work very hard and pretty much nonstop! I’ve been on three Disney cruises and have always tipped extra. The crew members truly make your vacation magical.
I really enjoyed all your videos of this special birthday cruise! My particular interests were the dining options and tipping so it was so helpful to know what you did. I’m sure the CM and Concierge teams appreciated your generosity !
I used the natural remedy patches off of Amazon and it worked great! My husband and I were on the cruise RIGHT before yours on the Dream and we had high winds the entire time. This was my first cruise and we actually loved the rocking of the ship. I took one Bonine in the morning at night and used a patch and never got nauseated. I also started this regimen two days before our cruise and continued for another two days after. We are now booked on the Wish for next year!
I get that some of these luxury travels don’t relate to myself and some of us, but I love seeing them living their best lives! Also, the cheaper earlier experiences are already documented. We can watch or rewatch those cruise videos anytime we want to have a reference for beginner cruisers. This bucket list experience that I will never afford is however very informative for someone who may like to live vicariously or for someone who may want to indulge in the future. They’ve shown us the frugal versions, happy to see them splurge since I can’t.
Very generous with the tips! Now I feel like I undertipped! 😂 We really didn’t use the concierge lounge that much and the concierge staff. I asked if we could get into the spa as we decided last minute that it was a want. We didn’t expect to get in and sure enough we were told no by concierge. That was last November and could have been because of Covid. I do know that the 3 Concierge’s do not make any money and absolutely depend on tips. We had a great time.
My husband and I both get seasick, my husband’s can be pretty severe. We both wear the patches and they work wonders!! Literally took all the nausea away from us both. They are a lifesaver!
We just watched the video and love that you tipped the way you did! It is awesome that you remembered that these service industry folks were out of work for basically 2 years.
In 45 days we go on our first cruise! Watching your 3 trips have helped us make up our minds! Answered all our questions. Thanks for all your hard work filming and editing. Much appreciated!
As a Brit the tipping culture is so strange to me, my expectation is the cruise line pay a decent wage, especially the price you pay for a cruise, I shouldnt have to pay extra to someone doing their job. Having said that if someone goes above and beyond what I would consider their job role, then I would recognise their effort with a tip. I cant get round 'It's expected'
As someone who has lived in London and the US, it’s the fact that US pays very poorly when compared to the UK for service jobs. Plus cruise lines in general pay very low wages. It’s definitely just cultural as well, and in the US it’s considered rude to not tip when service is good/great. But again, that’s your choice. However, they definitely overtipped, but they wanted to. I’m sure the cast members deeply appreciated that, especially after covid.
I’m from the Bahamas, the word “cay”is actually pronounced as “key”…..I have a lot of family members who worked on Castaway Cay….😊 I’m glad you guys enjoyed your trip
Quay is also pronounced key. I have only ever heard of Cay pronounced as key. The first time I heard royal Caribbean province it cay I did a double take, it felt weird.
I Loved watching these videos. And I am so happy to see you fully respect Lynns decision to not be filmed. I just am curious if you could talk about how much she was working, vs how much down time she had. also, I am hoping you paid her really well to come along! As a nanny myself, it is very hard to be away from family and routines. And as awesome as you guys are she is still working. I just am always team nanny lol-so even if you don't talk about it I hope you absolutely realize how awesome she is to travel with you so often. Jackson is so lucky to have her. (also I am trying to convince my nanny family they want to vacation in Disney) lol
We took childcare with us to wdw last November. We had our helper during the day and gave her nights off and one entire day - we paid for all accommodations and food and events and tickets and etc. plus compensated her weekly wages. She seemed appreciative and had fun! She’s also a family friend so it was reassuring to have another adult with us and our two kiddos.
You can always take your shirts you have gotten on trips and turn them into a quilt to reuse and relive memories over and over again while taking a nap.
I about fainted when I heard your tips. I can’t afford the cruise. I will say Tim had a great birthday and I’m extremely happy for all of them and not jealous at all. I do tip a lot more since so many people out of work. I’m very happy that you showed everything, I know a couple You Tubers that never show concierge and that’s all they do. So props to you for being so open. Never stop, love you.
That sounds so so much to tip but I'm from the uk £2600 is another holiday if not more but looking at the room etc I would say it's justified on your end ofcorse. Love your vlogs!
Although we agree that it's definitely not fair, the pay is not a good wage. The tips are very important to those workers. Most of them are working extremely hard to give you a great trip. Since the company is not doing the right thing by them, we would make sure to do the right thing by them, unless they did an especially bad job for us. In the end, the cost of your trip would be a lot higher if all of those workers were making a good wage anyway, so we would just factor that extra expense in the budget of the trip. It's not a culture thing, really. It's taking into consideration the situation and doing what is in your power to take care of those performing the service for you.
It's not necessarily true that service industry workers are not paid a "good wage". In the US, most of them are simply paid (and taxed) with the assumption of a certain percentage of gratuities they will receive. If they do indeed receive the assumed tips, their take-home wage is usually reasonable for the position. The problem is more philosophical, in that while earning a decent wage this way requires decent tips, tipping itself is technically almost always optional. The issue arises when guests tip less than expected (or not at all), which unfortunately seems to happen more commonly than we'd like to admit. This is indeed both a social and regulatory problem, and it's certainly something I'd like to see changed. But it's not always fair to blame the companies for "not doing the right thing". The companies are simply doing what's expected: they pay what they are required to pay, not more and not less. As an aside- I don't know about DCL in particular, but I understand that many shipboard cruise line staff are in fact paid quite well. I would presume that a server or host on a Disney ship would make substantially more than someone in the same position at a comparable restaurant on land- while also having their shipboard living expenses paid by the company. Of course, they seem to work incredibly hard in return, so it seems fair enough.
@@its_clean you make my point exactly, except for terminology. We don't think of tips as wages. We consider wages to be what the company pays. To make a decent overall "income", they are dependent on tips. We agree with what you said and we would tip as generously as we could. 👍 😀
These videos have me so pumped for my cruise in October! It will be very different than yours, but we are doing a wedding ceremony on the Wonder! I can’t wait.
'Jackson, we're going home now..' "NO!!" Yeah, he knows and is sad. I busted out laughing so hard, especially with what you said not 5 seconds before that. This looked like a phenomenal trip and I hope to do something similar one day!!
Jackson's QUICK "NO" to "we're going home now was precious and sad, at the same time. :) On the 1 Disney cruise I've taken (a 3-night, 13 years ago!) I HAT#D the split bathroom, because it was so tight. I would not even CONSIDER another DCL cruise unless it didn't have a split bathroom, that's how uncomfortable it made me. I know you didn't have a split (be VERY glad about that!), but just sayn'. Wow - I my friends always tell me I'm a generous tipper, but you guys - wow!!! That's awesome that you wanted to make your appreciation "felt", and had the means to do so. Rare these days - bravo!! On the 2 cruises I've taken, I followed my fiend's advice - she'[s also my travel agent - I took the non-drowsy Dramamine 2 days before, then throughout, and 2 days after both. Only time I felt a bit nauseous was same a Lynn - on the way back to Cape Canaveral, the last night. But - it was at night, so I went to sleep, and woke up fine, thank goodness. That "Cay or Key": is ALWAYS a debate - LOL. I usually say "Key", unless it's Perfect DAY at Cocoa CAY" because "DAY" rhymes with "CAY', so makes more sense! LOL Socially distanced hugs to the 3 of you from New Jersey. Stay strong, stay positive, stay healthy!
Appreciate you discussing the tipping in this video!! Thank you! Looked like an amazing time! Absolutely amazing!! I'm was a bit behind the on these videos, as I've never cruised, so didn't really dive into right away! I get sick!! So I just finished getting caught up!! Great coverage! Thanks for taking us along! 😎
In case you do more q&a: Is there any need to bring cash on a Disney Cruise? Would we need cash if we wanted to add extra tips at the end (I heard there were envelopes)? Or can all the extra tips be added to your ship charges? Great cruise vids! I've never been on one, but now I might try to book a cruise instead of my usual WDW resort birthday stay.
As a fan and someone who has experienced different income brackets I really respected you talking about tipping. I recognize that our tipping system is not fair, but it is a very complex issue. I was starting to feel a bit like I couldn't relate to your videos because of the obvious massive wage gap. It's always been present, more and more each year, but that's completely normal and to be expected as successful youtubers. You all have always been down to earth, and idk I just like your videos. I was blessed enough as a teenager to go from a very poor neighborhood/school to a very very rich neighborhood/ high school because of a custody switch, not only do I think it helped me graduate hs but it gave me a very unique outlook and I realized people are people, and I'm not gonna agree with everyone but its not all black and white. I do firmly believe that rich people should spread their wealth around when possible, and it really means a lot when you are barely getting by. I'll never forget one of my hs church friends mom pressing an envelope with $500 cash in it and trying to convince me it was a St. Patricks Day present during my first year of college when I was struggling because I had no family support. I didn't even know the family all that well, and I kept refusing until my friends mom said "honey, we don't need it." as she gestured around the kitchen of her multi million dollar home. Idk this is rambling, and you probably won't read this, but I really appreciate you all spreading your money around to all those cast members. So many travel vloggers would've just thrown the $20 at them despite how expensive their cruise was.
What happens is after any extended period out at sea or out on water you become land sick which is the reverse of seasickness. All you can do is take all your motion sickness pills and wait for your ears to settle back down. I’m from Florida and ships and boats aren’t a problem just stepping off takes a few seconds of readjustment to solid ground again.
First of all..... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM !! And then I just wanted to say WOW and Thank You for taking us all along on such an incredible voyage. It was such a joy to watch. Can't wait till next time. Maybe The WISH ; )
Hey Tim & Jen, it's Dan & Nancy from Golden, CO, your cruise #3 closers... we had no idea it was Tim's birthday so HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!! No time to watch the uTube before the trip!! We really enjoyed your cruise series and it looks like you guys had a great time, like us, and we agree that Palo it the BEST eating experience on the ship!!! We enjoyed seeing you all around the ship and hope to meet up with you again in the future! After the cruise we spent a another week and a half in town and at the parks before returning to the snow and cold of CO which is why we love the FL fun and sun!!! We have been coming to WDW Flower and Garden since 1998 and only missed it the last 2 years due to the parks closing 4 days before our trip in 2020 and the crazy reservations & restrictions in 2021that kept us away. Anyway thanks for all the great info and for your sharing! You guy rock, and we love Jackson's energy!!
As an Australian listening to your tip tips it has helped us - we also tip extra to servers who make our dining etc experience s memorable and thank them as well
How fun! We were on the Dream for my 50th a few weeks ago. We absolutely loved it!! It was our 1st Disney cruise and we can’t wait to go again. It was fun reliving our cruise through your videos. I wanted to get the shirt Jen got but they didn’t have my size either. I so wish I had just gotten a bigger one like you did. Ugh! Now we have to go back! :) I have been watching your videos for a couple of years but never commented. Thank you for all of the awesome adventures!!
Going on my first cruise in 3 weeks and so nervous. Getting the patch and bracelets. Loved these video series. So glad you guys had an amazing time! Your next trip needs to be Beaches Turks and Caicos! Jackson would love ❤️
We have sailed Disney concierge twice and leave tips along the same guidelines as you two do. They work so hard and make sure you have an amazing trip.
I also watch Michael Kay and he's a Disney lover and also sales Disney Cruises by himself or with his brother. So a lot of information he has on his Vlogs too. Fun Disney Vogs and Jackson seem to have a really good time and I love it when he says what's happening!!!
I’m a new subscriber and I’ve enjoyed watching your videos! My husband and I have done three Disney cruises by ourselves as our kids are adults and we have had so much fun! Yes they are more expensive but the ships are so clean and we appreciate the family atmosphere. My husband is also determined to win a trivia medal! If you haven’t tried it yet play Bingo if its back. It is so much fun and is not your normal Bingo!!! As far as sea sickness I take a Dramamine about two hours before the cruise starts. Then I’m fine the rest of the cruise. I also found if I did that I didn’t have as much trouble the first day or two back on land. Cynthia
Thank you for tipping. If Disney is letting you tip, it means the staff is not paid minimum wage; tipping is not optional. Going above and beyond shows your level of gratitude and that's a great place to be.
Anyone else doing the math in their head and shocked that one cruise trip at this caliber is equal to some people's annual salaries? Even at 6 figures, I cannot justify spending so much on one boat trip. Ouch.
They went to the beach last summer and met Tim’s brother/sister there and their family. I know they mentioned that Tim’s parents have health conditions so I bet it’s hard for them to travel.
I have used those Motion sickness patches that go behind your ear because I have really bad motion sickness and dramamine (sorry if that’s not how you spell it) together and it really works.
Great series! We used Dramamine(non drowsy) on the 1st cruise and patches for all of the others. We prefer the patches. They worked really well for us.
It was probably very fair because of having the cabana two days as well as concierge usually services those as well correct? Also, you were tipping for 2 concierge rooms.
My parents are DVC members and so we've been on the Disney cruises quite a few times. They were able to sail on the members cruise a couple years ago. They got me a spirit jersey and honestly said to get it the first day because they sell quite fast! So just a heads up! :)
I know this is a VERY LATE post and you just had Oliver. But when he is old enough so you guys can cruise again, I'd love to see more footage of the Castaway Cay 5k run. I believe Tim has done it, but it would be great to see more of the running trail/landscape course on the island.
Will you be going on the Wish when the bookings are available? I was planning on going middle of June in 2023 on a solo birthday cruise. Any tips for solo cruising?
As an American who has scrimped and saved to go on vacations, my favorite thing to spend money on is the customer service staff. I won't leave home unless I'm prepared to spend at least the same as the accommodations on the people who work so hard to create the experience. ❤️
You guys are awesome for giving us such detail!! Seriously helps us so much especially those who are anxious to ask or even have these experiences because of what to expect, so really appreciate the content!
I’m surprised at some of the negative comments. They’re making good money and enjoying life and I’m happy for em. They didn’t start out that way and old subbies remember their humble beginnings. If I ever get the money to do what I want to do I’m gonna do it. I don’t know how to be a hater. So I say live it up y’all. Old saying but still relevant: YOLO.
Yeah! Thank you for saying this. They’ve worked hard to be in this position. We’re getting the benefits without spending a penny of our own money or working 300+ days a year. Thank you Trackers!
@@dianemarie8069 😂😂😂 I done been to Tokyo, the Bahamas, Hawaii, Tennessee… all over. All on the Trackers dime. I legit like these people and I’m happy they’re winning. Truth is, their experiences have inspired me to have my own on my budget and I had a blast.
One thing that I don’t think is mentioned, is that you can prepay your gratuities. There is the basic gratuity and then you can add if you want during the cruise.
Our movie experience on our 2013 Disney Cruise was that the ship was playing movies that were in the theater at home. We watched Frozen, Thor, and Saving Mr. Banks. We cruised with my husband's family (18 of us) and it was amazing. After watching your video I want to plan another Disney Cruise!!
My husband and I went on a Disney cruise for our honeymoon (2017). We were sat with another couple and a single person at dinner and it was a lot of fun! The single person went on a lot of cruises for work so she had all the tips and tricks. All of the adult only places were great too.
I always use the scopolamine patches for motion sickness. They have always been great but they do require a doctor's prescription at least in USA. I'm guessing you would need to get them from the ships doctor.
Hello.Land lubber! I'm sorry your amazing cruise came to an end. I hope Lynn handles being on land again alright. She was certainly a lot of help to ALL of you and I love the way she fits in so well with You and Jackson! This Cruise was at a perfect time to help Tim to relax and recover from his surgery. I'm glad All of you had such an Excellent vacation! Thanks for letting us tag along and for being so open about the cost and tips and the food reviews! Enjoy being at your home awhile! P.S.: MY BIRTHDAY is the 29th of this month, 62 with eyes of blue! Just no Tumbler like Tim's Bless you ..from Tammy in PA
Rob and I wore the Scopolamine patches as we get major sea sickness. They work so well. They are prescription. They last 3 days per patch. They work so well. 😊
I wonder if it’s worth taking the whole cost into account, then planning to tip a percentage total, and break it up various ways.
@@TheLingerers I hope you don't do your own taxes 🤣 Not every business expense is a write-off, especially since the lines for this family business between what is business and what is personal are very blurred.
@@ameliaerin1544 so don’t watch it?
Sad how many people will throw thousands at a Disney cruise or trip but balk at tipping. We always take care of the people who take care of us.
Agree!!! That's the most surprising thing. If people are will to put out so much for a top service, top tipping is expected.
@@LuluVl15 it kills me seeing people paying $5,000 for a vacation but saying they can’t afford tips. How to say you’re cheap without saying you’re cheap.

When I was in my very early 20s I was a waitress for a while.
I would love to see you guys go on a non-Disney cruise and tell us your experience compared to that of Disney!
Great idea!!

Totally agree. This just make me love them more. The simple fact that they are so generous and transparent is what makes them great creators.
Totally agree 💯
@@jenblack98 So much this. I used to eat out once a month as a treat, got to know my servers really well where I went. on a 25 quid food bill, I’d round it up to £ 30 because that’s all that I could afford and they understood that.
Once when I told them my dog was getting surgery, they refused to take a tip and said “keep it for your pup and bring in some pics next time, ok’ you bet I did !
Never worked service industry but they work very hard and are under appreciated.
Exactly, they`ve more than earned it!
100% agree !!
The cruise itself was $20,000 for the tip is literally nothing in comparison
If you can afford the suite they got, you can afford decent tips. For a regular room, you wouldn’t need to tip that high.
@@typicaltay16 Gotta remember, they will probably end up making $ still with the video(s)
I was also like what lol 😂 ( fainting ) but I am just an average working girl. I would never stay at a 20 k room.
Your take on tipping was respectful and showed a sincere appreciation for outstanding service. The cast members were undoubtedly thrilled and felt the love.
Jackson is so adorable especially when he realized that he was going home NO! he so wanted to stay so cute 🥰
You should turn Jackson's old Disney t-shirts into a quilt. I loved the vlogs!!!!
I used our son's hockey jerseys and made a blanket. We loved it.
That’s such a fab idea!!
Look up the veterans group that does t shirt quilts! I think it’s called REPAT?
That’s exactly what I was thinking!!!❤️
How considerate you both are of the kind and hard working people around you, that you actively notice the little things around you, and do not take them for granted (even after the many magical experiences you’ve lived) is so beautiful. You guys are such great people 🥺
I feel Jackson’s pain about having to go home at the end of cruise. Glad you all enjoyed it thanks for sharing
I could live off what you spend on holidays.
Now you all need to do a Disney Alaskan cruise, it’s awesome!
My husband suffers really badly with sea sickness so as soon as we get on a ship he has acupuncture at the spa and he is great for 2 weeks so thankful it works as we love cruising
Thanks for all your vlogs
Can’t wait to get back to Florida
Love from Northern Ireland 😘🤗👏🏻
Thank you for your generosity towards DCL crew members. We’ve talked with so many during our sailings and their need for these tips is so high always, but especially right now with lower capacity.
You guys are so generous. It’s so nice to see people with such a large platform showcase the hard work of others.
There was times when you could even afford a cruise never mind that much tipping, I love how far use have come and are able to help other people out by giving extra.
I love hearing you both are so kind to all the staff…speaks volumes about your gratitude 😊 xo
It sounds like you had a fantastic cruise!! Thank you for sharing about tipping!!
Appreciate your transparency about costs and tipping. Super helpful because it can be intimidating when you don't have much cruising experience. Thank you. 😊
Aww Jackson is so cute when you said we're going home now and he said No 😂❤️
I think what the cost breakdown does which is really important as reminds people that although it's a expensive endeavor the reason that the trip is so special and wonderful is because of the people there working it and to not use like the idea that you've spent a lot of money to not reciprocate that gratitude with an appropriate tip.
Would you consider staying concierge but in a regular room as apposed to the suite?
I really enjoyed all your videos of this special birthday cruise! My particular interests were the dining options and tipping so it was so helpful to know what you did. I’m sure the CM and Concierge teams appreciated your generosity !
I keep hearing BINGO is super fun. That's what we plan on doing on our upcoming cruise.
The shows are all awesome. My son has loved them since he was 3 years old so may even want to bring him.
Going on our first cruise in May. Your cruise vlogs have heightened my excitement even though we are heading to a different destination. Thanks!!
Agreed! Those patches are amazing. Nothing else works as well for me.
Cruise lines do not pay very well.
Same! The tip culture in other countries blows my mind.
They don’t get paid well. Tipping is just the right thing to do.
Yes. The tip they left is more than the price of a holiday for me!
I’m from the Bahamas, the word “cay”is actually pronounced as “key”…..I have a lot of family members who worked on Castaway Cay….😊 I’m glad you guys enjoyed your trip
Well,Castaway Cay and Coco Cay are both in the Bahamas and I can only say how we pronounce it here.
Quay is also pronounced key. I have only ever heard of Cay pronounced as key. The first time I heard royal Caribbean province it cay I did a double take, it felt weird.
Yall both leaning out of frame for the cam to focus on the tervis had me rollin! 🤣
Ok next cruise you need to take is a 260 night on Royal Caribbean. All 7 continents for $65,000!!!
That sounds so so much to tip but I'm from the uk £2600 is another holiday if not more but looking at the room etc I would say it's justified on your end ofcorse. Love your vlogs!
My go to souvenir is shot glasses. I have one or two from every place I've been.
Hopefully on your next cruise we will get to see Jackson play golf
Tim’s face about the Muppet mystery was hilarious! I’m a muppet lover too so I totally get it.
These videos have me so pumped for my cruise in October! It will be very different than yours, but we are doing a wedding ceremony on the Wonder! I can’t wait.
I love how you tipped everyone well and how you were honest about it. 💗
I totally agree with you guys on the tipping. And I know the Disney crew members who took care of you absolutely appreciated it way to go 👍.
'Jackson, we're going home now..' "NO!!" Yeah, he knows and is sad. I busted out laughing so hard, especially with what you said not 5 seconds before that. This looked like a phenomenal trip and I hope to do something similar one day!!
The patches behind the ear worked much better for me personally than the sea bands! Always bring multiple options
LOL
Socially distanced hugs to the 3 of you from New Jersey. Stay strong, stay positive, stay healthy!
The Tips added up but Tim and Jenn are kind generous people
Appreciate you discussing the tipping in this video!! Thank you!

The dad in me went off when Jackson closed the fridge door lol

Thank you for all of the awesome adventures!!
scopolamine patches are a transdermal patch you should put on before you get on the ship and take them off a day after and they work fantastic
Tim and Jen had the largest suite on the Dream. Depending on how many people you have in the room and be as high as $30,000.
I also watch Michael Kay and he's a Disney lover and also sales Disney Cruises by himself or with his brother. So a lot of information he has on his Vlogs too.
Fun Disney Vogs and Jackson seem to have a really good time and I love it when he says what's happening!!!
Bonine works well for sea sickness, less drowsiness. Thanks for the great cruise vlogs!
Bonine works best for me amongst all the remedies.

Ouch.
My friend suffers from seasickness and found the behind-the-ear patches to work better than anything else she tried (wristbands, Dramamine, etc.)
Do you ever plan on vacationing with your families…grandma/grandpa, aunts and uncles and cousins?
This!! 💯👏🏼
YES! ;)
The sea patch behind the ear really worked well for us.
