- Sorry friends. I have take an mistake, that one ist NOT an Acherontia atropos, this one is an Tropidacris cristata, one of the biggest Grasshopper of the World.
This is my way to pin a grasshopper.
Beautiful work, did you catch that one yourself?
Tolle Arbeit 👍
Vielen Dank. 🤗
It is not acherontia atropos, that's a moth and this is a grasshopper, other than that, great video!
how many days did you rehydrate this specimen?
Hello.
After death I froze them and then only let them thaw to prepare.
is it has bad smell ?
No. You must clean the abdomen
@@entomological-world how I clean it ? please
@@sarasoso7727 I cut the abdomen open and took everything out with a plastic spoon, then I filled it with fluffy stuff and glued it back together (my mantis died 2 weeks earlier that expected so I didn’t have the needed tools) on my insta @haru.u.17 in the storyhighlight of mei you can see how I cleaned her abdomen :)
@@applejuice9051 thank you for your fast answer 👍🏻 all right I take the same
Use an X-Acto hobby knife to slice open bottom of abdomen, use fine tipped dissecting forceps to remove internal organs, dust body cavity using a Q-Tip swab with Gold Bond medicated foot powder to absorb excess moisture then stuff with small pieces of cotton ball until natural shape is achieved. Have fun!
