- Опубликовано: 25 май 2023
- This is a basic Bug Out Bag build.
Other items I will include are :
A fishing kit, (Food Resource)
Walkie Talkies (Communications)
More clothing in a Compression bag (clothing kit)
and some money.
I thought at first that the bag looked a bit heavy - then I realised how much love was in it 🥹
Lovely video, thank you for sharing.
Your daughters' bags can be the same really, but add san towels and a she wee ☺️
That makes total sense...I was thinking of a make up kit, nail kit, small hair flattener thingamabob, hair spray , etc....LOL
Also a diva cup 🫣
@@lostboiiz
Had to look that up...didn't know what that was exactly...thank you for this important addition...
Exactly. The outdoor industry is full of "ultra light weight" bullshit to sell stuff. In outdoor there are no rules, only love.
great job dad that's a wonderful emergency kit for your son .
Thank you .
Really impressed with amount of gear you packed in. Very good
Thank you
Came across you video im Native also and I’m also into being prepared that’s a great gift for your son my parents got divorced when I was five and he had to disown me before he remarried never really got over it and it was nice to see you do that for your son
Miigwech niiji (thank you my friend)
I am sorry to hear about that painful memory...
I hope we all learn from our parents ....and improve ourselves daily...aho
this is a good dad!
Great kit the only things I'd add is a fishing kit and snare wire and a turnikit and tent or hammock and a sleeping bag
Great Suggestions...thank you
Not here to tell you what you need or don’t need. What I want to say is this is a fantastic bail out bag, great job!
Thank you for positive feedback...
I don't mind at all, some helpful suggestions...
That’s awesome and great gear ypu did for your kids. It really touched my heart to see you do this for your kids. Hope they appreciate it.
Thank you....I believe they will appreciate it.
Wow, great kit. Very complete. A comment and a suggestion. You said in the first aid part to put super glue IN a wound, I think you meant ON a wound to keep it closed, never in a wound. The suggestion is add an israeli bandage to the medical kit. You could take some of the tape out if you needed to make room or for weight considerations.
Thank you for catching that...appreciate it, very much.
have a great day.
That is probably the most though out BOB I have seen. I am sure your son well are appreciate the thoughtfulness that went in to making it. Love to watch other indigenous peoples video. I am from the Nansemond Tribe in Suffolk, Virginia. Great Video.
Thank you for commenting...It's good to meet you.
I have lots of other videos , showing our various native community activities and gatherings...plz feel free to check em out..
Enjoy your blessed day.
Great kit! I would have some recommendations tho...waterproofing is key and just covering with a poncho isn't good enough, anything that could be compromised (socks etc) by water needs to be individually sealed. I would drop alot of the extras and add ready to drink water cuz there isn't always time to stop to sanitize/purify, a sleep system meaning something to sleep under (which you have an outstanding tarp) something to sleep on and something to sleep in. Also I would wrap all electronics in 4 layers of foil with plastic wrap in between each layer as an insulator against an emp or solar events, other wise all electronics could be compromised and this process would waterproof them as well. I would also change red fire pulls to orange so they don't get confused with medical should someone else need to assist for whatever reason, I would also remove as much extra packaging as possible as it helps mainly with space but a little weight also. Does that life straw have threads in the bottom to attach to a bottle or bag? If not I would switch to a sawyer mini or something like that so it will work with the water bottles, because if you can't have a fire for whatever reason then water can't be boiled so the meals could be useless unless water purification tabs are used. Bags are very personal and should be loaded as such, however there are some core items that should never change no matter the bags intention. Me personally I concentrate on the needs more than the wants, its easy to fill a bag with a bunch of stuff its harder to fill it with less and get by. The calculator is a nice touch lol, ive also thought about that but I've never seen anyone do it before 👍. Don't take this as negative criticism cuz its definitely not! Your doing a great job and your kit is well thought out, just be careful of internet recommendations lol people will have you carrying all kinds nonsense 🤣. Your commentors so far have good ideas and I would consider them if you haven't already, I have a video on my channel showing the latest iteration of my bag but even mine has changed since that video a year ago or so. I subscribed, looking forward to more videos on subjects like these 👍. Take care and stay safe....our world is changing quickly and not for the better, make every day count.....
Outstanding recommendations ...your experience is shining bright and is greatly appreciated..I will make the necessary changes and improvements , from your comment....Thank you so much for your detailed sharing 🤩👍
@@kanzee5940 Cheers for showing us the bag mate, wasn't aware of those heroclips so thank you, they look really handy. I think the guy above has done a pretty good critique, you have a LOT of batteries in there (weight) which might not be required for a shorter trip home although as you say, they could be used for trade. Thanks again for taking the time to show the bag, we all learn from each other.
@@deeps2761Yeah, that was one of my concerns....but in my experiences , I notice that you can get some good stuff in trade, with only batteries...it's amazing how many people on the road, hiking, run out of batteries for their gadgets....
Thank you for your comment ...appreciate your kindness...enjoy your day .
I like that bottle holder! I would add moleskin and a tourniquet to your first aid kit though.
I got the bottle holder on sale from amazon for 55$
Gearland Canteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Nested Camping Cup and Lid for Bug Out Bag, Bushcraft Gear, Metal Canteen with a Wide Mouth Water Bottle and Mess Kit
Less expensive than the Dav Canterburys bottle set . Which cost me $100 canadian..for only the Bottle and Cup with a lid...no fishmouth opener, no Bottle bag in the set. I don't like the bottle, cause its a soft metal and easy to bend & dent with your thumb.
Yes...I just picked up some moleskin, which I will add to his BOB...thank you for your helpful suggestions.
Have a Great Day Brandon 😺👍
So many good ideas in this bag. I’m so impressed. Lots of care and consideration went into this. What a lucky guy to have a Father like you. I got some ideas for my kit. Thanks for sharing this.
that's great to hear....I am happy that you got something out of it.
Have a great day.
Well prepared B.O.B. NICELY DONE!😇
Much Appreciated.
Brother you did good building his kit. You used the skills you learned as a child and added modern techniques to his bag. If he learned anything about how to survive in the woods or hunting and gathering he will do fine!!!!! The only opinion from me is more food and water. But in Canada you have more access to fresh water than us in America. I have been teaching people that here in cities we do not have access to drinking water br😅our creeks are polluted and will have to travel a great distance to met to clean water. Other bushnuts (the fake idiots) preach that you can filter any water with any straw or pocket filter which is false. Need someone to teach the difference in safe water versus polluted water from the damn creeks in cities. But good enough if carries the knowledge to use the gear.
SEMPER FI
Thank you....I'm always learning new techniques.
Great EEK Bag!!! I would add an emergency radio, moleskin, Quikclot, a tourniquet, nail clippers, and a multitool to your sons bag. I am making my mom a bug out bag as well. She lives with me, and I want to make sure she has what she needs & wants in her bug out bag. I also am helping my sister, brother in law, and niece with their bug out bags as well. BTW, you are a great dad.
Excellent suggestions...thank you for your helpful comment.
Nice kit my friend. Well thought out.
Much Appreciated...enjoy your day , my friend
For your med kit may I suggest you get some hydrocortisone cream, ace wrap, SAM splint, 5x9 pad, bleed stop, compression wrap and trauma shears. This way he can treat sprains or breaks, stop bleeding and put on a pressure dressing. For the water kit some treatment tabs in case something happens to the water filter. Your son is extremely lucky to have you. Did I miss seeing a headlmp?
Yeah...the FAK is in need of attn , and I appreciate your helpful suggestions...I will look into that.
In the electronics kit (bag is now replaced) I have a head lamp with a red light for nite vision...mind you, I've never used a red light in my life..LOL but a couple of military buddies , suggested it...
thank you for your helpful recommendations.
Cool bag. You also have the most calming voice ever. I listened to the video on repeat last night to fall asleep. Not because you're boring, it's just soothing as weird as that sounds. Ha. Also, what a great father.
Thank you , for that compliment....
Others have said similar thing about my voice,....I was asked to do radio many years ago, for a night reading show. LOL..
I am happy you enjoyed this video....Enjoy your wonderful day .
Very good bag sir 👍
thank you sir
I can not emphasize enough of the importance of having a comprehensive Trama Kit designed to stop the flow of blood.
A serious injury could be fatal, especially if you were in an accident and had no way to stop blood loss.
I also carry a very extensive first aid kit that is in my Get Home Bag .
Thank you...I will do more research on a Stop the Bleed Kit...greatly appreciate your comment. Stay safe.
Problem is … you stop the blood … and then ? … you have no emergency doc in a SHTF … 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@petepete66
Yeah...true that....I can't see my boy stitching up a serious wound...but I will make the suggestion that he take up a good first aid course.
very nice. see if you can find a place for protective eyewear. that's really important.
Yes...Thank you @Simon.
Great Suggestion...will work on that.
Have a Fantastic day.
Wow. Great video and bag. This is one of the best videos I have watched re bug out bags. Yes a lot of love, common sense and knowledge has gone into this. Thank you so much for sharing
Thank you for your kind comment
Great kit! You covered most everything. One item I didn’t see was a radio to get information. I like the hand crank weather radios. I’m not sure if Canada has a weather band.
Yeah..we in ontario , have weather band....I have a small crank radio, with solar panel, etc...here is the amazon link I bought it from...Thank you for your quick eye..i completely forgot to add it to his bag..

Rain and wind or snow storm is a big problem… if you are wet … it’s maybe game over … cooling out is death … summer or winter…also you need a tent … and much 8 hours candels for heating tent ⛺️… and a tarp to give over tent for blocking rain to get directly on the tent … and what are you doing if food runs out … and so on … 🔥🔥🔥🤔
Great Questions...thank you for sharing them..
@@kanzee5940 …i always Look all the other survival summer and winter RUclips vids … only for informations… then I think … what do I need out there alone for longterm … gun and ammunition and water shelter fire sleeping plus cold ground thermomat … and maybe a little cave is a good option to survive… god always with you all … 🍀🍀🍀✌️😁✌️🍀🍀🍀🌎🔥
Chi Miigwech (I hope that means thank you, but sincere apologies if I am incorrect). Your BOB Bag video is very impressive, and it is hugely appreciated. There can be improvements made to make it lighter and more practical. But in saying that, the best of parts of preparedness are knowledge and skills. I am certain that your tried, tested and handed down knowledge have been passed on. Please keep up the amazing work. 🙂
From your latest subscriber 😊
You got it right , Niiji (buddy)
Miigwech (Thank you) for your support and your comment. Stay safe.
The head wraps, we call them noggin socks.
lol good one
That’s an incredibly nice gift. You obviously care and did a ton of research.
Good on you, bud!

I don't know about that...but I work on maintaining my good skills and helping daily..
miigwech for your kind comment...
have a great day.
I call it my GHB Get Home Bag. Bugging out is for people that live in large cities in apartment buildings.
A mojority of my resources are at my home. Its familiar to me and I know where all of the traps are.
Im not going to be bugging out. Ill be getting home.
yeah....I am finding alot of different titles for a bag filled with gear ..
BOB = Bug out Bag
BIB = Bug in Box
PSK = Personal Survival Kit
GHB = Get Home Bag
INCH = I'm Never Coming Home
JICB = Just In Case Bag
PERK = Personal emergency relocation kit
GOD = Get outta Danger
GOOD = Get out of Dodge
72 HB = 72 hour bag
ICE = In Case of Emergency
GOB = Go Bag
SEEK = Survival Escape Evade Kit
and a couple more dozen more acroynms for bags..
But I like to think , they all have a similar purpose.
Wow, great kit very well thought out. The Medicine Bag is a beauty. How would you like to adopt another son ha. Sorry to hear about the huge amount of fires in Ontario. We have a lot here as well in Quebec probably the same fires. It's true we always have to be prepared for everything these days. I took a few notes from your list especially the fish spreaders and electrolytes which I'm going to add to my kit.
The Smoke isn't as bad as in the east, or the west...Yet...but it early to tell, since I am in Ontario, smack dab in the middle. We have fires in the northern ontario , but the rains are keeping them under control...
I am always learning , about being prepared...if you have any suggestions....I would like to hear them ....I am sure you have alot of good tips as well.
Be safe , my friend.
Great loadout! I noticed a few things I'll be getting.
Thanks for the vid.
I wish you much success
That is great to read...your very welcome
Looks like a 5.11 bag. 24 or 72 model? Good contents; it should be a companion on your walks at least once a week. Very well done video, love the use of text to go along with what you are saying. Where did you get the fish mouth opener? All the ones I've seen are much longer, I like your size. BTW Hundreds (if not thousands) of Nova Scotians had to bug out recently for 1-2 weeks due to forest fires. Bugging out is not limited to some fantasy SHTF future. The need to bug out can happen while you are having lunch, or sleeping at 3am. Check that SOL survival sheet. I like their older USA products but I have one from 2008 and it split through many layers while still in the package unused. Now I open any outer package to check the actual blanket inside during the twice yearly check.
Yeah...SHTF (Stuff Happens To Family) can happen anytime, anywhere....
Thanks for the Emergency blanket tip..I will look into that. cheers and stay safe.
Nice job
Miigwech
You should be able to close the fish mouth spredder by pinching all the way and lock the tips together
Your RIGHT ...thank you for your support
have a great day.
Should put more food in the bag. Nonperishable foods.😊
What do you Suggest as an affordable product.
thank you for your comment and looking forward to your detailed response.
Buen video amigo! Mochila muy completa 👍🏻, abrazo grande desde Argentina...
Muchas gracias por tu amable comentario 👍🏻, un gran abrazo de vuelta, desde Canadá.
(Thank you very much for your kind comment 👍🏻, a big hug back from Canada.)
Hey brutha. That is an excellent kit. I love the idea of the hero clip, gonna order one. Suggestion..... vacuum seal some underwear with the socks. May I ask where in Ontario you are? Love and respect from a fellow northern Ontario bushman.
Nice to have you visit my channel, my fellow Canuck bushman.
I am just south of Algonquin Park & North of the City of Barrie .

I didn't even think about that....I will try and make one for the description section..thanks for letting me know.
@kanzee5940 that'd be amazing, ty.
A bunch of tools but no shelter. Are you just going to sleep on the ground during the cold nights?
I put in the tools to make a debris shelter easily...
and in a city, there will be many buildings to shelter in.
Thanks for your comment
Bom demais o seu vídeo amigo, onde vc comprou esse itens?
