Curry doesn't 'NEED' a Finals MVP, but it would help his case as being an all-time top 5-10 player because most NBA fans only look at box scores, accolades, and hardware. They also listen to narratives driven by the media more often than actually watching the games deeply, and analyzing what they see. Curry's career is only halfway over. They stole Steph 2015 finals mvp no debate. Also let’s not act like winning it is everything. Kobe 3 under Shaq isn’t less impressive but he wouldn’t be considered close to where I have him ranked w/o the 2 he did win. Curry career is capped off with a legit fmvp though💯
That’s idiotic to compare shooting percentages for people from different eras. There are more possessions and people are shooting way more threes.. no hand check.
These young guys can never be themselves because they will always get compare to older players back in the day it’s so sad that there this much pressure on kids to be players you use to watch smh damn same.
Steph should've won in 2015. The Warriors don't win that series without Curry, and it's not even close. Iggy was indeed impactful throughout the series, but Curry was the most consistent and BEST player for the Warriors. LeBron was shooting poorly for the series with or without Iggy -- his defense certainly helped. The Warriors don't win game one without Curry or games 4-6. He averaged ten more points per game than the next closest Warrior. The media members got it wrong; they were so hellbent on awarding LBJ Finals MVP that they gave it to Iggy instead. I remember every other day ESPN was shoving LBJ for finals MVP down our throats by always mentioning Jerry West. Again, I'm not sighting Iggy because he was the 3rd best player on the floor in the series and games 4-6, he was nearly as impactful as Curry.
i cant think of a single all time great player (excluding the guy who the award is named after) who didnt win at least one finals mvp. yeah guys like magic, kareem, and kobe didnt always win the award but they did win it at least once. maybe im forgetting someone but i really cant think of an all time great player who never won it. i mean it depends how you define all time great but lets say we made a list of the top 15 or 20 nba players of history. how many of them dont have a finals mvp excluding ones who played most of their career before it was introduced as an award?
@@jjjayden8964 i guess erving is an example but he did play a decent amount of his career in the ABA. kidd was a great player but i dont think most people would rate him anywhere close to top 20.

chris you comparing Curry's ave points per finals game agaist Larry and MJ? The rules and pace of game was very different and you know this guy. Sit down
@@boricuafrican1 your point? Kobe last two championships the NBA game was more about the mid range and iso. Now it's all about shooting 3's and ball movement. The point is Jordan avg 30 in a season doing it the hard way as opposed to players like Harden shooting 3's and flopping.
You realize Steve Nash has more league MVP'S than Kobe, Dwade, KD and Dirk. So sometimes league MVP is nothing more than a popularity contest. Finals MVP mean you're the best when it really counts, while achieving the ultimate goal.
@@fmvp6892 that's my point. Even those years Jordan won championships he didn't win league MVP ever year. Tell me what play was better then Jordan during that span? The truth is people did vote him as league MVP because they personally didn't like him but in MVP vote people can't hidden their bias.
@@fmvp6892 what I'm saying is those years he didn't, look at who won? Did they really have a better season than Jordan, nope. So winning league MVP doesn't automatically make you the best player that year in the league.
He does not need any of that MVP or whatever... Kevin can have all the MVP's he wants but just know that without Curry and the Warriors he wouldn't even smell one let alone touch one... A championship is a lot more important than a MVP.
Whatever. curry already had a great career with or without fmvp and nothing could take that away regardless of who says what ! nothing will change how we feel about him as warriors fans and that's enough
People hate facts...fact is the last time we saw Curry without Durant, he was choking a 3-1 lead!!! FACTS!!! They wouldn't have the last 2 rings without Durant!!
I don't know why a finals mvp is important. If you're a HOFer, you're a HOFer, period. Especially with multiple championships. These 2 guys have the loudest studio in sports. Good show tho.
FMVP is important because the top 10 players by the masses all have at least 1 FMVP. Stephs legacy is set already as an all time great but getting that FMVP would enhance his legacy and he becomes one of 8 players to have multiple titles, multiple reg season mvps and fmvp hardware. It would be hard not to include him in the top 10 once he gets that FMVP.
Sooooooo, you trying to tell me that if the Warriors win and Steph doesn't win the Finals MVP it's taints his legacy? Nonsense!!! That would mean he has 4 championships in 5 years, a threepeat, 2 regular season MVP's, regarded as the greatest shooter the game has ever seen, probably the alltime 3 point shooter, First ballot hall of famer and arguably the 2nd or 3rd best point guard to ever play the game. And just because he doesn't win a Finals MVP his legacy would not be cemented. MISS ME WITH THAT NONSENSE.
@@Belliones Respectfully, we are not talking about Steph in the GOAT conversation. We are talking about his legacy. Many believe that his legacy is already cemented as one of the alltime greats. He doesn't need a Finals MVP to prove that. That would just be nice icing on an already delicious cake.
Robs lack of logic astounds me. I'm sorry, but choking in the third round is much worse than choking in the finals... because... you know, you have to get to the finals to choke there? AND each one of those pieces need each other. you can't do anything without clay without Draymond and without Steph. those three together is amazing

On top of that Pippen took the bulls team to CF without mj and probably would have got to the finals if it wasn't for a bad call. Could draymond and klay do that? Jordan flat out had a better team if you take out mj curry and KD. I'm not knocking mj as 6 titles without defeat is impressive but you can't say he did it all by himself. You also have Ron harper, Dennis rodman and artis gilmore all players who were dpoy candidates and all of them who deserved to be on all defensive teams. Mj still made the shot and scored a nba finals game winner but it doesn't change the help he had. Kareem won with big O and Magic but didn't reach the playoffs 2 years in a row in the middle of his prime. LeBron reached the before miami but failed to win and lost to the big 3 celtics in the conference finals. Magic never won a fi als without Kareem. He was brilliant in game 6 his first year but he was then Tragic the next. Every single one of the all time greats relied on their teammates as much as curry except lebron. The rest of them had a much better number 2 and didn't have to compete against another top 5 player of all time. Curry has only struggled for stretches in the playoffs when he is injured (or KD was scoring 35+ for 8 straight games - but that wasn't curry's fault he was still averaging 23). Curry occasionally lats an egg but he is also the catyst for the best or 2nd best offense ever and is an underated passer and defender.

I've always said that FMVP's are a little overrated. Just because you don't have a FMVP it doeasn't mean you aren't a dominant Finals performer. For example Kobe has played in 7 total Finals and has 2 FMVP's, but overall averages 25, 6 and 5 for those Finals and i've always said Kobe is one of the most overrated Finals performers of all time while Steph is one of the most underrated Finals performers of all time. For his 5 finals that Curry has played in he averages 27, 6 and 6 ! While shooting a higher FG%, 3P%, FT% and having a bigger impact than Kobe but i mean it is what it is. Still a top 20 player of all time
Not really that mean you were the best player on the court when it counted. Now league MVP is overrated. There no way possible that Steve Nash should have more MVP'S than Kobe, Dwade or Dirk. It really a popularity contest. Just look at how people decided not to vote for Jordan between 92-98, really what player in the league was better than Jordan during those years.
Mannnnn if Steph dont win finals mvp that's gone look real suspect lol before KD I seen him get shut down & not show up a few games in them first 2 finals ! & playin wit KD was a cake walk neither 1 of them proved nothin tbh..but if they win this without KD & steph get finals MVP I'll respect that
You know else looks kinda suspect is that KD couldn't beat Curry when he was in OKC 😂 don't forget about that. KD is great of course, but people make it seem like Curry's Warriors were barely a 40 win team that couldn't come up big in ANY playoff series versus ANY all time great players and teams 🤔
Broussard doesnt understand...stats dont win titles, ask russell westbrook. My reason for not giving curry the all-time nod is because he is really a 1-trick pony, All he can do is shoot, if his shot isnt fallin hes MIA. Ludi DaVinci first time in the finals...Lebron lost to Dallas in 2011 and crumbled fully healthy
@@BigDal8604 and does he not get killed for that? And your comment does not answer my comment
What legacy you talking about ? The one he already has and still building further ? The 2 times MVP and one of the best, if not the best handsdown, shooter of all time ? What legacy you talking abouuut?
Chris broussard always show and guess about nba players
Damn chris all facts
whoa past 2 shows been heavy on the pauses 0:48
Rob is just arguing to argue
6:34 Chris GOATsard
So basically Rob is saying he is a follower. He has to see what other people think before he gives an opinion.
Thats bullshit because steph is defended differently than any other player in the NBA.
love Rob
i cant think of a single all time great player (excluding the guy who the award is named after) who didnt win at least one finals mvp. yeah guys like magic, kareem, and kobe didnt always win the award but they did win it at least once. maybe im forgetting someone but i really cant think of an all time great player who never won it. i mean it depends how you define all time great but lets say we made a list of the top 15 or 20 nba players of history. how many of them dont have a finals mvp excluding ones who played most of their career before it was introduced as an award?
Julius Erving never won it. J. Kidd never won it and peeps feel that he's a top 3 or 4 pg ever in the nba.
@@jjjayden8964 i guess erving is an example but he did play a decent amount of his career in the ABA. kidd was a great player but i dont think most people would rate him anywhere close to top 20.
Who told Rob yellin is good radio?? It Only works if u right and Rob is never right.
exactly how can anyone be considered the goat with only 1 mvp. No disrespect to the great Kobe Bryant, but when the competition is close 4 mvp's to 1 seals the deal.
Love the show, hate the screaming. Don't know what to do with this lol
Stop yelling over each other. Speaking loud doesn't makes you right. Be objective.
That's usually Chris.
Rob sipping on that Henny on the air! Gangsta
I love rob packer cause when he hates u he lets u know when he loves u ... u can do no wrong lol
Parker got weird early 🤨
chris you comparing Curry's ave points per finals game agaist Larry and MJ? The rules and pace of game was very different and you know this guy. Sit down
Andrew Macdonald not in the 80s bruh
@Andrew you must've missed the Kobe part of that...
@@boricuafrican1 the game has changed since Kobe was making his championship runs. Look at how many points Harden averaged this season.
@@MatthewSmith-lr8bm are you even remotely familiar with how many points Jordan or Kobe averaged?
@@boricuafrican1 your point? Kobe last two championships the NBA game was more about the mid range and iso. Now it's all about shooting 3's and ball movement. The point is Jordan avg 30 in a season doing it the hard way as opposed to players like Harden shooting 3's and flopping.
Neither KD, Kawhi or Giannis have back to back MVPs but we rank getting an MVP over a 82 game season and an MVP over 4-7 games differently
You realize Steve Nash has more league MVP'S than Kobe, Dwade, KD and Dirk. So sometimes league MVP is nothing more than a popularity contest. Finals MVP mean you're the best when it really counts, while achieving the ultimate goal.
Matthew Smith only about 8 people vote for FMVP compared to MVP and its mostly media members. Suns never won a chip, so Nash isnt a good comp.
@@fmvp6892 that's my point. Even those years Jordan won championships he didn't win league MVP ever year. Tell me what play was better then Jordan during that span? The truth is people did vote him as league MVP because they personally didn't like him but in MVP vote people can't hidden their bias.
Matthew Smith and how many league MVPs did Jordan win? Way more than Kobe, DWade, Dirk & KD. Thats why he’s revered as the best
Chris killing Rob
To enhance his Legacy yes
Whatever. curry already had a great career with or without fmvp and nothing could take that away regardless of who says what ! nothing will change how we feel about him as warriors fans and that's enough
People hate facts...fact is the last time we saw Curry without Durant, he was choking a 3-1 lead!!! FACTS!!! They wouldn't have the last 2 rings without Durant!!
These damn ADS 😡😤!!! FFS!!!
So you mean to tell me that Kyle Lowry and VanVleet is gonna outplay Curry? Lol
Do they not have an inside voice?
Pippen didn't win a finals MVP but he is an all time great
What? Because he was never the greatest player on his team.
BlkDiesel it a show that they were stacked
BlkDiesel So if scottie pippen had 6 fmvps would you consider the fact that mj is still the goat ?
@@Belliones Respectfully, we are not talking about Steph in the GOAT conversation. We are talking about his legacy. Many believe that his legacy is already cemented as one of the alltime greats. He doesn't need a Finals MVP to prove that. That would just be nice icing on an already delicious cake.
This from the same guy who thinks Tom Brady ain’t shit.
Robs lack of logic astounds me. I'm sorry, but choking in the third round is much worse than choking in the finals... because... you know, you have to get to the finals to choke there? Lol
There is absolutely no world in which Steph Curry bringing his team to the NBA finals and losing is worse than KD bringing his team to the third round and losing. That's an insane sentiment to hold.
Facts. People brush this fact under the table, conveniently: KD's thunder team blew a 3-1 lead to Curry's Warriors 😂
@@GamingWithGino exactly. According to Rob, Kevin Durant and okc dropping that series to Golden State is better for Durant than winning that series and losing the next... that's just stupidity, plain and simple.
@@CGoody564 Yeah I never understood that type of argument. It's the same thing they apply towards LeBron making 8 straight finals, as if it will be better to lose in the 2nd round rather than the finals lmao.
@@GamingWithGino people already talk about his legacy. If Rob thinks never making it to the finals to lose somehow improves ones legacy, hes a moron.
Hell, rings aren't enough for rob. If you haven't won a finals mvps, your legacy is trash apparently
Wow the hate for steph is real
Is this really a question steph reached 3 point leader in 739 games n ray took how long common Namaste
It is customary to try to pick out one player and make them great because we still have Michael Jordan withdraws but what they fail to realize the reason why you can't make curry as great as you want to, even though he is great, because they play great TEAM BALL. the greatest team we've seen. AND each one of those pieces need each other. you can't do anything without clay without Draymond and without Steph. those three together is amazing
Yeah but arguably klay and draymond couldn't do anything without Steph. Curry could probably be Damien lillard or James harden without draymond or klay. Just putting up numbers without winning big.
@@moto2442 and Steph size make him rely on the wholeteam. He needs them just as much as they need him
@@tonetone111222 Yeah curry needs his team but if MJ didn't have Pippen he wouldn't have won anything either. He never won a playoff series without Pippen so you can't say that about Steph. Without saying that about mj.
@@moto2442 mj would take the last shot curry relies on his team. Or MORE RELIABLE because he was bigger. Look, i like curry and he's my favorite but his game is relies on the OTHERS more than Jordan
@@tonetone111222 Yes jordan was great but Scott Paxton and Steve kerr made some of the biggest shots in his career.
Defenders Win Finals MVPs. Steph Curry Is Not One
KD Had To Guard LeBron In 2017 & 2018
LeBron Had To Guard Everybody In 2016
Iggy Had To Guard LeBron In 2015
Kawhi Had To Guard LeBron In 2014
LeBron Had To Guard Kawhi In 2013
LeBron Had To Guard KD In 2012
I'm Just Saying The Precedence Has Been Set.
Lol poor rob can get pushback during his soliloquy but God forbid u give chris pushback during his rant, he throw a hissy fit lol..and i love chris, but damn!!
Don't forget it's Iggy's last season most likely, and we know what he's capable of :)
T 2 lol nothing that’s kawhi is on the floor
Here's a question say Curry avg 35 points in the finals but some reason or reasons G.S. lose who will be blame.
it's sad that Rob is so -------------
I've always said that FMVP's are a little overrated. Still a top 20 player of all time
Kobe took over the game in the 2000 finals in overtime you don't know what you talking about
Steph has never took over a finals game
Final's MVP is overrated in today's era
Players like klay still defends @ a high level & many other players in the league are the same way...they bring more to table. I have to see steph carry w/o the luxury of 4 other superstars.
I think he understands that... he's said that many times already...
@@boricuafrican1 well why does he keep using stats as justification?
@@Omaski how can you NOT talk about stats? how can you just completely avoid talking about stats?
@@boricuafrican1 im not saying dont look @ stats im just saying dont have stats as your only justification bcuz Russell Westbrook stats says hes a top 5 all-time player. You have to use the "eye test" as well and steph isnt 'dominate' if his shot is off
