Is the dept of the bench the full length of that plyboard (8 foot)? I know you have a fake bottom back to hide cables, and the true depth. That equipment is very long and you have room to work in front of it! So, If I were to build a similar bench to hold that old equipment, how deep should the surface be?
Just a friendly warning from a guy who loves your channel; doing daily videos will wear you down and burn you out. Don't do that to yourself. A video or two a week with good information and compelling subject matter is the best thing for both you and us. Cheers and welcome back. 73 de W5GFO.
Looking forward to it!!! But yes, do not burn yourself out. Nothing kills a channel faster than getting too aggressive on video production. I'd rather see higher quality content on an extended schedule than quick, short, and ultimately rushed content. Pace yourself and I'll watch when it's ready! :) Thanks!
I do enjoy your videos a lot. They have given me more insight on tubes than my education. As for the frequency of video drops on RUclips , as long you want to rather than have to you shouldn't burn out. Take care of that boundary. HNY 2023 and 73!
It is obvious that you are creating a legacy to preserve your expertise so others may use it. This may sound silly, but the phrase "Tom Swift and his electronic Edison/Tesla machines" popped into my mind. You create devices that replace entire series of electronics test equipment such as your various highly superior and useful capacitor test boxes using novel techniques to make difficult jobs almost trivial to do. Your genius is amazing! Thank you for your forethought.
Everyday, waiting for exciting videos from mr. Carlson's! This is a gift for us. Frequent upload from you is exciting. I hope your quality would never drop. Looking forward for your future videos. Electronics Engineering student.
Hey Paul. I agree with Tim and as you say in this video, DO NOT BURN YOURSELF OUT! We love your videos and look forward to seeing them in your new lab!
Paul really excited to see more content from you but please stay healthy and dont burn yourself out - a video a day, no matter how short, will take it's toll. Happy New Year!
From the time I was 6 years old, I knew I wanted to be an electrical engineer when I grew up. I'm now 74 and still active in electronics. My freshman year in college, they were still teaching vacuum tube theory. By the time I graduated everything was solid-state. In spite of my vast experience in electronics, it seems that every time I watch one of your videos, I learn something new. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Keep it up, you're doing a great job.
I always enjoy all of your videos. I spent most of my working career in electronics development! 3 years at Westinghouse working on nuclear inspection cameras ( yes, our camera was used to inspect the inside of the Three mile Island reactor right after the meltdown!) Then 17 years at Kodak in “Advanced Development” ( my supervisor actually invented the first digital camera!) then another 11 years at a leading university in research before I retired! My education started in 1979 so we never covered tube theory but we were on the verge of the home computer boom, so we concentrated on digital development! So to make a long story longer, I really enjoy your information on tube circuits! Thanks!
Mr. Carlson is unreal!! Don’t know why but I always waiting for his videos to pop. Don’t know what I am looking at b it gives me satisfaction to watch him do repairs! Love it!! Absolute legend!
Congratulations on your new lab/ shop. It is very impressive, especially the layout of your test equipment. Good to see you back and operating again, I miss the old radio rebuilding and tech tip you offer on vintage test equipment. Good luck in 2023.
You are a great teacher with all things electronic. Loving the new lab. Don't get burned out making videos every day or else quality may suffer. So far the good work presented in your videos has been "par excellence"! Steve
Mr Carlson, just to let you know that I signed up for your Patreon channel - principally for the education series - but mainly to say "thank you" for the prodigeous effort you do in sharing your knowledge and skills with us. Sincere thanks, Paul. VY 73 ES GL, William, k6whp dit dit
I look forward to your videos. For me it's an educational treat. Someone who knows little to nothing about electronics. But I've gone out and bought oscilloscopes and multimeters and other electronic equipment. Have been practicing. Thank you for your educational videos.
Thank you, Professor Carlson, for the update, I really like the look of your new lab etc. Regarding the amount of videos you are looking to make, as you said you don't want to burnout, so balance is the key. Tweak your schedule as you go forward finding that right balance.
Mr Carlson's Lab now in widescreen! Your lab is so impressive with the renovations, I bet you like having more workbench space. I really enjoy your videos. Keep it up. All the best from the UK
Having watched everything you've published on both RUclips and Patreon, I'm ecstatic to hear your production is coming back. Hopefully that means your move was successful. Count me among the viewers who will be following the way forward, too. 👍
We need a Q&A about your life and incredible repair skill, Mr Carlson! Love you new background, I wish I could have both space and money for half of the wondrous gear you have behind you! Also, what's a few important tips you could give to a younger repairman (I'm 21 btw) that's already repaired a few tube devices and wants to step his skills to the next level? Please keep on making videos! You're the most precise, educated and skilled repairman in all of youtube!
I like the q and a idea, could be a good way to start off this new era of the channel. My question, if that ends uo happening: who does mr carlson do repairs for? Is it mostly collectors and vintage radio enthusiasts like himself, or are their companies that still use vintage equipment like this?
I am looking forward to seeing all the new content. But always take care of the number one priority, your health. I will be here for every video, whenever it comes out. Thank you for all your efforts. Tom

I would like to know why you wear the same shirt all the time
There's lots of nice content in Mr. Carlson's Patreon page
I'm a lifelong learner (and math major) who would love your recommend textbooks for self-study. Brilliant channel.
youtube did not let me know there was a new video sir

I agree! Pace yourself. You are one of the most important resources on RUclips and patroon.
I trust his self knowledge. If he says he can do it, the advice is unwarranted.
Makes sense
@@agenericaccount3935 We all know he is a big boy. Giving "advise" like that, simply shows you care and appreciate his work. So it IS warranted.
Not a fan of the short video.
This guy does some incredible restorations. Best I’ve seen
Super big, big! Much better for you now! Look forward to your next video. Cool lamps!
Yes! Mr Carlsons back!
All the videos and electronics information you share with us is very much appreciated! That’s a lot of hard work.
Great to see the new Lab. My question is about You and Your background. It would be nice to know more about Mr Carlson please. Thank you Mike.
That's all I ask is that you don't get burned out. I'll always wait for a Carlson video 💗💖💓💓❤️💕
Paul, happy new year 2023. All the best to you and your family! See you on patreon. 73 de Ole
Happy new year Ole!
Sounds good! Thanks, Paul.
We'll be here expecting your videos Mr. Carlson... "God Bless"
My favorite electronics teacher! Wish you were Albertan!
Love the new workspace!
More videos are welcome but, please, without the unnecessary apostrophe! 😉
Nice! I say that new bench is a joy to behold.
Have an excellent year!

You are the best electronics technician on the planet.
Thats very kind!
Great to see Mr Carson posting videos again! But that’s a classic “butcher’s apostrophe” right there in the video title. :)
Hope you’re doing well!
Wishing you a Very Happy New Year Paul.
Happy new year!
Yeah! Looking forward to the new approach, thanks!!
Thank you 👍. At least one good thing to look forward to in 2023. Happy new year.
Happy new year!
Good news looking forward to the vids. Your bench looks great.
Wishing you all the best for 2023 and looking forward to enjoying all the content you have planned.
I don’t even know 90% of what’s going on in the videos but I enjoy watching them anyway. That’s how good this channel is ..
I don’t know where I would be without your lab Mr. Carlson :)
The new lab looks amazing Paul....lookng forward to this !!!

Can't wait to see the awesome historical electronic devices that will be repaired or restored this year. Thanks for your hard work!
Yes to that! I fear the Collins R-390A he has threatened to restore. That thing is an electromechanical beast. Much coveted, stable and nuke proof.
This is great news. More of the best! Keeping the profession alive.
The new lab looks amazing. Love the size of the room and workbench. Looking forward to your videos. Have a great 2023. Best 73…
My Racal RA-17 is egerly waiting for the grand receiver restoration to return. Thanks for the great content.
Now that the bench is almost complete, I will be getting back into that restoration series.
Great new lab!!
I really love the modern art of electronics and illumination of it you offer. Thanks and greetings from Port Moody.

Happy New Year, Mr. C! I'm happy to hear that you are going to be posting more regularly. I really enjoy your videos. The new space looks amazing.
