Check out Brandy's "Have You Ever". Its a big ballad, (went to #1 on the Billboard charts) written by the same composer as Toni's Unbreak My Heart. Its prob a good blend of Unbreak My Heart and Mary J Blige's Be Without You.

Brandy’s voice is so beautiful and she’s really mastered her instrument! She developed her sound in the early 2000s by stacking her background vocals which is the “harmonizing with herself” you hear. Many of the singers who came after her list her as a major influence ( H.E.R, Tori Kelly, Jazmine Sullivan, Kehlani, Sevyn Streeter). This song was on her Never Say Never album and was #1 for 13 weeks. I’d recommend any song from that album or Full Moon to react to

You should check out 'Before You Walk Out of My Life' by Monica. Think she was 16 when she sang that, but she sounds 26. Crazy talented.
It was released when she was 15 and she recorded when she was 12. And also the song was originally for Toni Braxton
If you like the R&B ballads better (which I think you do) you should check out Have You Ever by Brandy. She has this thing (that you also noticed) where her background vocals are flowing around her lead vocals, which makes it sound like they're all part of one big lead vocal and in Have You Ever those background vocals are really strong. Another big ballad of hers is Brokenhearted, that one's featuring Wanya from Boyz II Men.
I would also recommend checking out Borderline by Brandy I have never heard a song like it, it's one of her more recent songs and her vocal dexterity is crazy!

Yea definitely check out more Brandy. Whitney Houston even respected her voice. They don’t call her the vocal Bible for no reason. I say check out her song Long Distance. That song is written by Bruno Mars and is a dope video too. And definitely either Broken-hearted with Wanya or Have You ever
She respected both Brandy AND Monica’s voice. They were her two favorite young singers. Whitney even said Monica’s singing in the studio with her blew her away.

For both artists, the concept for battling for the same man and video overall was more the main point of this song than their vocals. That song was on their 2nd respective album of each singer for which both albums came out at the same time. (Monica's 1st album (Miss Thang) I though was a bit better and Brandy's 2nd album is a gem)

Brandy and Monica were 2 teenage rnb stars of the mid 90s and tabloids were always comparing them and pitting them against each other so the labels seized upon this publicity and got them together for this song and it paid off
Monica is underrated… songs like Why I Love You So Much, Before You Walk Out of My Life, You Should’ve Known Better, Sideline Ho, Ain’t Nobody ft Treach, Just Right For Me ft Lil Wayne, Love All Over Me the list goes on and on. Her album cuts are where she shines the best.

You definitely picked up on Brandy's unique ''nasely'' voice (a bit from her nose haha). She is unique in that regard. Not my favourite singer but she is definitely great in her own regard. I do prefer like you said Monica's voice, a bit more classic (gospel power voice). Both have maintained their pipes while they are in their early 40's, about 25 yrs from when that song came out in the late 90"s
