I wonder if some people feel this way because they have been through too much trauma, were failed by everyone in their life who was supposed to protect them, or jaded by experiencing and truly understanding the depth of evil lurking in humanity.
Factors like these drive individuals to take their own lives or develop serious mental illnesses, but for those who are more resilient, coming to not like anyone could be a defense mechanism to protect themselves.
For Jennie’s case, the unwarranted hate she got throughout her entire career could have really contributed to her distrust in people. The comments towards her have been malicious and hateful. In addition, imagine the degree of darkness she has seen in humans as someone who has been in the entertainment industry from a young age. I mean, consider the Diddy case. You just never know.
It’s easy to judge and assume things about those who are different from you, but it takes compassion and wisdom to try and understand why someone might be the way they are. Some might end up really being a hateful and insecure person for no reason, but until we can know for sure we are making guesses about their character.

It’s the Korean fans and media that they have to hide it from - not the international fans.

What if one person in a group is too emotionally distressed because of a relationship that they can no longer continue idol work. How is that fair to the rest of the group? I could list more but i think that makes it pretty clear. If you look into early 1st and 2nd generation k-pop you will see why these rules were put in place.

the media training is far more extensive than you realize. Keep in mind, they debuted nearly 10 years ago and trained since they were very young kids. Every side of their personality has been carefully curated and developed. It's fascinating, a little sad, but also kind of shows how much nurturing can develop a person

Thing is, I don't agree with that, and in my experience many cute guys are cute because they don't act a certain way on purpose, just being naturally endearing and real.
IMO, Jennie’s perspective on a sexy guy and a cute guy differs from the typical view.
I think Jennie sees a sexy guy not as someone with a muscular build or overt sexual appeal, but rather as someone who confidently presents themselves just as they are. On the other hand, I think that her idea of a cute guy leans more towards someone with a bit of a narcissistic vibe.

Back then I liked Jennie only as a performer. I’m not a blink. She was the only one I liked in bp. But didn’t care much for her personality/ interests, just because I’m an older person. Now I also like Jennie the human. She really matured, is so much wiser, and you can tell has depth and is introspective. Still have not warmed up to any of the other bp members. Not that I’m a perfect human at all by any measure, which is why I admire people who grow in this way. ❤

I like how Jennie is talking about being in love and dating because many idols dont talk about stuff like that
She’s a veteran in the industry so people aren’t as harsh about it. I remember girls’ generation for example started becoming more comfortable talking about dating as they got older too. It’s harder for people to judge grown adults about it because it conflicts with the societal expectation that people (esp women) should be getting married around this age

Sadly all idols is still advertised as your parasocial perfect girlfriend/boyfriend you can fantasize about. I remember how much hate Jennie has gotten in the past for her leaked relationship and even just rumors about a relationship, and I get so frustrated.
