Interesting theory on Hokuto. But, I doubt that Hokuto was a ghost because you can see in a scene that he tries to smoke his pipe and the head maiden reprimands him and says the water godess is not fond of fire.
This movie gave a little bit of explanation to who the kusuryuri is and his origins. It was said that he was part of a group that vanquishes mononoke and his sword is just one of the treasures to do so. I wonder if that guy is also part of it but somehow defects from the group. The two daughters might be somehow like the alter ego version of the medicine seller in a different way or maybe a treasure as well since they have markings too but works in a different way. Maybe he instigates the bigger mononoke apparitions for unknown reasons. The medicine seller also has paint on his body this man also has some. He is also well versed in the divine and also is a little bit eccentric from the rest of the characters just like the medicine seller.
We might find out why the birth ceremony for Yukiko and her baby, was postponed until after the child's birth. It does look like we'll be focusing on the workings of the inner chambers and the concubines. Possibly the emperor himself.
Just a slight correction, the Emperor's name isn't Tenshi, it's the formal title of the Emperor during the Feudal era. It means the Heavenly Person. It replaced the the title Tennô, Heavenly Ruler, which was brought back during the Meiji Restoration, since during the Shogunate the Emperor didn't really rule over anything, he was basically just the high priest of the Shinto religion.

Idk but I have a theory on what MIGHT be in "Ashes of rage", Since you mentioned the relationship between Asa and Kame, what if Well I think Asa would be inraged like the title "ashes of Rage", so maybe she'd become angry because Kame got hurt? Like "Hinezumi", so maybe? Maybe something burns in the Ōoku, maybe The Ōoku itself burns or someone sets fire to it to end the torment? again, these are just my thoughts
I think your theory is interesting but i think the part 2 will be more focus on the concubines and the two new characters that the mononoke official page posted on their page.
it would be pretty weird choice of direction making anotehr story about asa and kame since she went way back to her home, literally you would need to bring her again or somehow make asa aware something happened to her that now would be fully not fault of the ooku, is likely the next movie doesnt involve the ooku as a group and more like just the location alongside the rest of the palace also, if you watch the original series, you would know that the point of dealing with the mononoke is that they can let go of, either reach afterlife or shutting out their control in the place, kitagawa cant be here anymore, that the point
In that one scene, was Hokuto meditating under the well nexto the shrine? Or was it above ground? He also asks "does the water taste good?", the same way Kitagawa does. In the end we see one of the ropes bindind the statue shrine snap, when karakasa is defeated :D !
Oh and a pattern on the wall moved a bit. It looks like scales... possibly from a snake? That maybe saved for the last film but Hokuto seems to be setting up something. It's pretty suspicious

from all the characters i feel like we didnt get to know pretty much anything thing abt emperor tenshi (btw im just spit balling an idea lol) what if its abt one of the old concubines? im still not 100% how that can tie into a fire rat mononoke but in my head it was smt that could happen :p. (since the sticker inside the well indicates a mononoke its not a must that it kitagawa again) idk if its a good theory butヽ(´¬`)ノ
