I was at the bookstore the other day and ran across Buried in a Good Book by Tamara Berry. It looked like a really good summery one, so I added it to my list! ☺️
I just finished re reading a cozy urban fantasy, but the series has mysteries in every book. The Others, by Anne Bishop. Very slow burn, like several books slow.
I have 2 "magical" series that I just love and think you might enjoy. The first is the Magical Bakery series... it is set in Savannah where Katie and her aunt add "spells" to their baking to give the customers exactly what they need (such as happiness when sad, etc.). The first book in the series is "Brownies and Broomsticks". There are 10 books in the series so far. My second suggestion is the Haunted Bookshop series. It is set in a fictional town in RI where recent widow Penelope and her aunt own a bookstore rumored to be haunted, The first book in the series is "The Ghost and Mrs. McClure." There are 8 books in the series and the 9th launching in May 2023.
I started the Shady Hollow cozy mystery books by Juneau Black, they are about woodland creatures! Its amazing, they have the best cozy and cute vibes, the animals are hilarious as they are trying to solve the murders, and its just so different because its about animals, not humans.😄I think you would love it!😊
What a great haul! I’ve been reading cozy mysteries for over 55 years! My mom loved Agatha Christie and Miss Marple was my introduction to the genre. It is my go-to genre when I need a “safe” read, here are a few of my favorites: Juliet Blackwell wrote A Witchcraft Mystery Series. The main character is a witch who runs a dress shop in San Francisco. You mentioned either Sofie Kelly or Sofie Ryan? There are two different cozy cat mysteries by these authors. I love both series. The book you have is what started me on reading these two authors. I hope you enjoy them! Donna Andrews writes The Meg Langslow Mystery series. I just finished book 32 a few weeks back. This series is based on Meg Langslow, a blacksmith, who goes home to help coordinate a family wedding in Book 1, Murder with Peacocks. Meg’s family is over-the-top-zany. Meg’s relatives are funny, loving and sometimes exhausting. The Langslow’s are a humorous, high-energy family and I love to visit with them every year.
I found a cozy with a photographer as the main character! As a photographer myself I've never seen one like that and I knew you'd appreciate it as well. It's called Photo Finished by Christin Brecher. I haven't read it yet but the synopsis sounds so good! 👍
Cozy Mysteries are my favorite genre...I stumbled across them during the pandemic and I haven't been able to put them down since. Amanda Flower's Magic Bookshop series was the first cozy mystery series I read and I love it! She also has several other cozy series also....a magical garden one, Amish Candy Shop one, a farm one there is an Amish Matchmaker series also she is one of my favorite authors.
I picked up A Trip With Trouble by Diane Kelly because it takes place on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I haven't read it yet but thought I'd recommend since you said you love books set in North Carolina.
A Magical Bookshop Mystery Series by Amanda Flower was the first cozy series I read and I fell in love with the genre. Amanda is one of my favorite authors because she can write about several topics and I have read almost all of the series that she has written so far. I currently have 4 books from 3 different series of hers that I haven't gotten to read yet because I keep going to the library and checking out books to read knowing darn well that I have plenty to read at home....lol...(this also hasn't stopped me from going to the local used bookstore to buy more books)...just can't help myself! 😂😂 Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series is another good one by Amanda Flower. She as so many out any of them are good. The Emily Dickenson one is not a cozy mystery but it is really good. The Catered Murder series by Isis Crawford is good series too.....I really enjoyed reading it.
I'm one of those old ladies that love cozy mysteries😂. I recommend the "Cat who..." books by Lilian Jackson Braun. She wrote about 24, I think. Main character is a man with two Siamese cats. (No other cozy mystery I know main character is male). The setting is small northern town "400 miles north of everywhere." Main character by book #4 inherits a vast fortune. And he's very active in community activities. Next I recommend the Southern Sisters Mysterys by Ann George. Most hilarious stories ever take place In Birmingham AL. Main characters sisters; one large, wealthy and flamboyant widow 4 times. Her younger sister petite retired school teacher happily married. (She's the narrator). Very enjoyable!
I just finished listening to The Clause In Christmas by Rachael Bloome, Book 1 of the Poppy Creek Series most of the books have 5 stars and this one is 5stars and can’t wait to continue the series
I was going to recommend you crime and poetry by Amanda Flower but you already have it in your video! This book was so good. Amanda is one of my favorite cozy mystery author. You should check out Dead End Detective by Amanda Flower. The newest in the series is called Frozen Detective. I've been so excited to read the second book.
All I can say is Beautiful and amazing video love it and love you and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading prayers and thoughts for you and your family love your family friend John ❤❤❤Merry Christmas 🎄
One of the best things about Cozy Mysteries is that each book in a series is a story of it's own and doesn't need to be read in order but if you have any type of OCD like I do, you can't help yourself to read them in order but I did want to put out there that they don't have to be.
I don't know why but I found all the cozy mystery books where people ate something and died was amusing to me☠added them to my tbr! I swear I'm not a sadist but anyway love the cozy vibes in this video!!!
If you have a favorite cozy mystery series I can add to my list, feel free to drop them below! 👇🏻
