Utterly moving interpretation, vocally wonderful. Will search for infos on the cast & mise-en-scène, seems unusual.

He should take time out to study French.

By that standard, so should Pavarotti, Corelli, Del Monaco and many more.

@@stevegrillo7868 , Yes. Most Italian tenors need to study foreign languages except Tito Schipa. Di Stefano is good in German and better than most Italian tenors in French. Benjamino Gigli is good in French. Italian language does not have closed and opened vowels in "i" "e" "o" "u" and "umlauts". Hans Von Bülow said "tenors are singers but a diseases ". Same goes to Spanish tenors.

It is extra challenge for Asian speaking and especially growth up mainly in that part to sing/speak English, Italian or French without accents. Same be true if you reverse to let American to speak Chinese.

@@道-p2e , On the contrary. I have seen Korean, Japanese and Chinese singers have perfect French and German. I think it is soley individual cases. Here Mr. Lee is inconsistent on "e". He doesn't understand openned, closed and muted "e". It is lack of basic education. Merely memorizing text of songs and an ability of producing a vocal sound will never give the singer a confidence and satisfaction throughout one's life time. They always imitate other singers. Most Italian singers are known for not being studious but Tito Schipa could sing perfect French diction. German singers are very well versed in French, Italian and English dictions. Many Koreans singers trained in Germany are great but when they sing French songs they forget the similarity in both languages. Korean language has such a variety of sound and Korean Alphabet is one of the best writing instruments. For instance in English, when "K", " P" and "T" are proceeded by "S" they have no way writing the exsct sound but in Korean they become "ㄲ", "ㅃ" and "ㄸ". So sky is pronounced "스까이", not 스카이. Spy = 스빠이 and stay = 스떼이 so on. Do you see how Korean Alphabet is superior to any Western Alphabet? With little modification and good basic study, Koreans can master most European languages. I hate to say but the truth to be told that many singers are lazy. Hans Von Bülow said "tenors are not singers but a disease". He was sick of lazy, temperamental and undisciplined tenors.
