I own a 1970 Dodge Charger big block 4 speed car and i just love a 1955 - 57 Chevy's the are cool as hell looking.

I’ve had many good projects and many cool rides over the last 50 years, but I decided early on to sell for profit and stockpile for a home someday and I sort of regret not hanging onto a few of them. But the payoff I guess is that my home is paid off. It’s all a trading game.

🟥 I've owned tri 5's since the 60s and I've never seen prices like this. I realize they're getting more and more harder to find but the price of these 4 door wagons? Cmon man. Wonder how many didn't sell?

@idontknow2293 Prolly right. I vended at Carlisle for 20 plus years back in the 80s and I know damn well if you price too high, regardless of the market, you're taking it back home with you.

4 door cars are underrated! At 25:41, that red '57 4 door hardtop going for $19,500 seems to be the best deal to me. If I had a garage to put it in, I might be tempted to go for that one myself.

The first car I ever bought with my own money was a 56 Chevy Bel Air . It was red and white ,had vacuum wipers so when it rained on the highway youd have to speed up to 65 the let off the gas to clean the windshield. The back fender wells were rusted so if it rained and you rode in the back seat youd have to set in the middle are youd get a wet ass ride . I loved that car . We called it the bomb

Sad & nuts, remember my dad telling me when he start driving, he bought a 55 Chevy hardtop for $35.00 and drove it home ! Never see those days again ! 😥

It would be nice to know if they sold and what was the selling price. You can ask $25,000.00 for the Nomad, but did it sell for that price?? Along with some of the others.
Yea, it would have been interesting to go back there just a few hours before the end of the show and see what sold and what didn't. When I filmed this 1st thing Friday morning stuff was already selling!

The one on the trailer was nice, I would replace all the sheet metal rather than playing games with the rust. Too many 4 door cars for crazy money.

it was an old kustom most likely from the 60's.
im doing my 55 ragtop to look weathered with no rust. with a stock body and a bbc with 4spd. old school street racer look.
don't worry no one else would have saved this car but me.

Nice cars , I have 3 55 2dr htps and a 55 2dr wagon , but some of these cars are so nice you can't drive them , whats the point of owning it . The prices were higher than a new car ! Sorry guys they are just old cars ,

The 4 doors are getting really popular to make a 2 door out of. Long haired guy on jtube turns em into 2 doors regularly. He's got it down to a science. No shorties ha. Guy drives one around my town except it's convertible, kinda. Itsa rusty ratrod kinda thing

That '55 Chevy on trailer@ 20:20 would make a great example for a replica model. That car has some dealer extras such as rear bumper side guards and lower rocker chrome. Thanks for the video coverage, always good. Cheers

Year 2 of no drag racing at the TRI5 nationals after blowing my motor there in 2021.
I could not just rebuild the motor, thanks to a new sponsor, I had to do a whole makeover to include all new suspension and drivetrain improvements. And adding a chiller under the blower should help stop melting the tops off my pistons.
Make plans to see me back in the saddle next year on my 50th anniversary of owning my 57.

Couple of decent asking prices , depending on an extremely good inspection . Crawl under the vehicle and look very close to the problem areas and quality of workmanship . Interesting video .

Okay for those who want me 55 67 Chevy I have a few and those prices are very encouraging.
As far as the read 57 stubby or shorty goes, 4 years ago I just too busy to go out for 1. The man was selling it for his father who had cut it all down and made a convertible grey car out of the four door and I just told somebody else for it and he end up getting it for $650. It ran and drove. I'm not a fan of those cars I've seen them bring a lot of money. If he's going to make it to door every should do like the Canadian guy does. Proportional. Nice show thank you

While I can appreciate the amount of work and craftsmanship that went into the 57 Chorty. I feel those hours would have been better invested in restoring that car or another.

It was a 4 door, he did what he had to do. If it had been a hard top, that would have have been different.
There was an identical car, color and all, running around north Philly in the 80's and 90's.

@@tuck6464 i lived in logan/ Olney area near broad and Olney. it belonged to the 57 chevy tire shop on at 8th or 9th on Allegheny ave. .
i was friends with the guy Jose and i used to but tires from him . he built it himself and he had a 56 shorty too.
the 57 looked like this one , the 56 was cut differently not so nice the way it was done.
i moved to North Carolina 15 years ago. now i have 3 tri fives.

It seems like year after year the Tri Fives always bring the Big Money.
I want to build a 55 chev bel air hardtop like the one I had in high school. Does anyone make resin copies of this body style. Just need the body.

I'm not sure about resin copies Larry but AMT has a 55 out now that is blue and white on the box art that will probably be your best option. You would have to cut out the "B" pillar to make it a true Hardtop. Another kit out now from AMT is a race version that is red white and blue on the box art and it's a true Hardtop but the kit is more of a drag car and most people complain about the body proportions. Also, if you want to go with a big scale model ( 1/16 scale) AMT made a nice 55 Hardtop that you can build all original. But, that kit is harder to find as I don't think it's out on the shelves at the moment like the 1st two I mentioned. Hope this helps, keep me posted on what you find/decide.

@@brianbloom1799 i have been doing bodywork and paint 50 years i have restored a lot of cars and painted more than 100 . i am bored with painted restored cars . now i prefer to build drivers and i like patina cars and trucks . i recently painted my 56 Belair coupe black base clear urethane. my 57 wagon is not getting painted, it is just getting spotted in where i fixed the rust holes and my big block 4 speed 55 ragtop is getting painted patina so it will be useful and not another dust collector. at 67 i prefer my cars and trucks to look a bit weathered looking. they are way more fun to drive.
