Macy’s life was destroyed because of the Forresters, Brooke’s life was destroyed by the Forresters, even Taylor’s life was eventually destroyed by the Forresters. Countless other’s lives have been destroyed by the Forresters. I sense a pattern here. The Forresters are cancer lol.
I never knew thats how it went down, and like I said before the Forresters are the ones who cause Brooke to gain control of Forrester, especially Stephanie
She was accusing Brooke of being a thief, while her and Eric were conspiring to have exclusive rights to belief... But for Steph it always boils down to Brooke " stealing" Eric from her
The show was so much more balanced back then, 3 stories going on simultaneously. Nowadays it's just one story for like the whole week. You got Macy's struggle with alcoholism, Brooks take over of belief, and Sheila sparring with Taylor. This is what Soaps should be today!

I turn it off in the 2020’s or don’t watch at all for years, the when I do decide to check it out, it seems the characters look messy, bland hair and makeup and wardrobe, not up to standards of Classic B&B. 2020’s B&B is just a sad shadow of it’s beautiful past.

I take it this is the “slap” which in reality KKL delivered quite meatily to SF, leading SF to declare, “She will never hit me again!” Nice to see someone fight back to Steph at last like this.
But SF will get slapped a couple of times after this. But surely not nearly that much like other people. I always wondered why women slap so often and get slapped often in this show. Men get rarely slapped or hit rarely someone. Weird preception of women.
This blow-out was A-mazing lol Stephanie's face after Brooke slapped her back lol has no one done that before? 🤣 And Ridge, especially the last scene shaking his head, so funny. He had the funniest facial expressions all episode
It was the first time anyone slapped Stephanie. And I think there will be at least 2 more slaps from Brooke to her, but I believe nobody else has slapped Stephanie.(not 100%) Of course physical violence has been used against Stephanie by several characters, but in terms of slaps, I think only from Brooke.

Team drama & keep me entertained & interested! I may have some characters that I like more than others but they're all needed in the end to round out the cast & complete the show. It wouldn't have been as good without them.

Exactly!!....I'm loving all the drama and Connor😍 but Brooke didn't develop the formula at a random lab somewhere or in her kitchen. She did it at Forrester, using their lab, equipment, chemicals and whatever else she needed....they paid for. They could've been more upfront but that would not have given us viewers all this drama🙂
Also, the way Stephanie said "Steve is Eric's masseur" in a tone of voice that was like "I can't believe I have to make up this utterly ridiculous lie to save this utterly ridiculous situation but I guess I'll do it anyway". 😆
Susan Flannery is absolutely amazing. No one can touch her acting chops! She is on another level. Excellence in every scene with her, nothing is wasted, she is stunning!
I love the simple but effective music cue with the repeated bass notes at 8:50 - it is one usually reserved for only the most tense and dramatic moments. It really shows that what is going on here is not only a confrontation but a complete transformation of the show as we know it.
I have to be honest, while I enjoyed the slapping between Brooke & Stephanie, I was a bit disappointed. I wanted something a bit more than that. Btw, Brooke’s slaps to Steve and then Stephanie was weak. If that were me, I would’ve slapped harder. But I did love the yelling and people pulling them off each other. That was hilarious. 😂
This is related to a comment I made about the acting. KKL is a competent actress but she doesn't get "lost" in the scene the way Susan Flannery does so the slap and the way she's being pulled from the room ends up feeling like watching an actor acting.

To answer your question, I think this quality is unique to Susan on this show. There are a few other solid soap actors on B&B but the only other one I've seen who sometimes loses herself in a scene is Kimberlin Brown.
This scene is an actor's dream. *Full Disclosure:* I'm an Emmy and SAG voter. I've worked as a journeyman actor for decades, stage and TV mostly, I'm classically trained, and I've also taught acting at a high level. To me this scene is a good example of why one of these actresses has a Golden Globe Award and FOUR Emmys. (And no, the lack of industry award recognition for KKL is not because other actors are jealous of her or any of the brain-worm conspiracies I've seen people make.) KKL is a solid soap actress but Susan Flannery is one of the best actresses of her generation. She's not that much older than me so I'm speaking of my generation as well. That difference is apparent even in the acting choices made by both women in this scene. Flannery's diction and surprising choices, her training is just obvious and impressive to an acting teacher. Really none of the other actors on this show are on her level. I got to meet her once (Bill Bell too) but sadly never worked with her.

Susan Flannery is Meryl Streep level, I wish she was a movie actress or at least worked in mainstream TV. One of the finest actresses ever. And I was just watching KKL thinking that she has come a long way. Her acting is quite solid at this point

And there were two times (in the 90s and early 2000's) when I was on the blue ribbon panel for the Daytime Emmys which meant I didn't get to vote for the nominees, but once the nominees were determined, I got to view the acting submissions and vote on the winners.

The way after the 18 minute mark Susan Flannery raises and lowers her hands and intentionally stumbles on her words and then she sighs and her body slumps when Brooke replies to her, it suggests the character's frustration and exhaustion. And the way her body slightly responds to everyone else's movements like how she turns back when the actor playing Connor approaches his mark, she's just always fully IN character and feels like a real person not like an actress waiting for her "moments." But the most impressive to me is her cadence, how her voice keeps finding a sharper and higher pitch, first when she calls out the crazy situation then when she snaps at Ridge and finally when she explodes at Brooke. Taking the scene higher and higher each time until it "pops" as we say. I hope that makes sense!
The queen once again berates, insults and abuses the ex morganatic wife, with fancy words and assurance, until she has had enough and slaps the crown off the queen's head who is turned into a peasant yelling desperate statements like the br at she really is, and a new voice to match her new status.
Was anyone able to hear clearly what Brooke's long string of insults to Stephanie were? I couldn't catch everything she said, something along the lines of: "Oh so it's all my fault, is it?! You lying, cheap, something something maybe cheating animal!"
Stephanie can't call her nothing knowing damn well she been a sneak from the start of the show and who showed Brooke how to be manipulative? Stephanie that's who. Also they should have kept Keith on longer and gave him a love interest so the soap had a good black couple like on Y&R.
Brooke doesn't steal anything, she developed it and gifted it to the Forrester practically and they didn't give her nothing in return!! So go for it Brooke!

the talk between Taylor and Sheila shows how clever Taylor is as a doctor she pressed all the right bottons with Sheila figured out her intentions and revealed her charecter and made Sheila very angry
Stephanie just simply told the truth about Brooke. The situation wasn't created by her. Eric created it. Stephanie made it worst. But the belief patent issues was Eric's single handed poor judgment and failure as a "business man" (that he simply never was and he should have not run FC, he never had the brain capacity, intelligence or knowledge and very poor judgment). He was the one that suggested the little charade with brooke and Steve was his idea and most of his doing. Rigde went a long with it. So did Stephanie. Steve was mostly pushed and advised and orchestrated by Eryuck.
I've lost count of how many times I've gone back and started B&B from the beginning. I watch through around 1995 and start all over again. It's SOOOO good. It's my comfort, my entertainment, and so much better than what they put out now. Quit watching B&B back in 2020 and never had any desire to resume. B&B in the 80's & 90's are all I need to enjoy my beloved soap.
Seeing Macy lying in the alley it's easy to think that now she has really hit rock bottom. And then you remember it's Macy, and her life is like that old joke about the pessimist and the optimist: Pessimist: _Things can't possibly get any worse than this!_ Optimist: _Oh, sure they can! Just wait and see!_ And you realize what may appear to be rock bottom may really only be a narrow ledge halfway down - and it's about to give way.

This is one of those unlikable characteristics of Taylor. That she really does think she is better than everyone. "I married Ridge out of love, you married Eric for many other reasons", I believe Taylor concerning that, that she doesn't care (even if she stayed quiet in all the schemes her family did against Brooke, and that was for money), but how does she know about Sheila? Why does she assume there is no love?

Bold and the Beautiful needs to bring back All of these original casts members who are still around, because these shows are AMAZING!!! The shows today in 2023 are just not very good. Since Susan Flannery and Ron Moss left, Brooke basically seems to softly speak or whisper almost every line no matter the drama. Also the 2020’s era of B&B no one dresses up much, almost everyone looks sloppy, or messy and the B&B Hair and Wardrobe in the ,90’s era was STUNNING, everyone looks well presented and even when they have a character downtrodden, the makeup is so much better than todays (2020’s) B&B. These shows are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.
*THE BRILLIANT PLOTTING OF THE BELIEF STORYLINE* This is an iconic scene in the show’s history and the plotting leading up to it has been brilliant (and brilliantly Bill Bell). That Brooke and Connor are only now learning about Steve Crown is an example of how Bill Bell liked to parcel out information so that multiple story beats could be played out over time and there can be more than one climax. Had Brooke and Connor discovered everything at once, then we’d only have one climactic scene (when Brooke tore up the contract). But because he held back on this crucial information, we now get two climactic scenes: Brooke tearing up the contract last week and Brooke & Stephanie’s angry slap-fest this week. Withholding the Steve Crown reveal also allowed the story to take several turns, with Brooke even agreeing to give the Forresters back the formula thus proving definitively that she would’ve signed the contract from the very beginning if they’d been honest with her. But then the Steve Crown reveal undoes that progress and justifies Brooke going ahead with the takeover. That second part is important: Brooke has always occupied this middle ground where she’s neither fully a villain nor fully a heroine so the show needs her to take over the company without seeming to be power-hungry. And that balance is achieved here by having her just about to sign the release when Steve walks. So the brilliant plotting allows for multiple story and for good characterization.

Ridge was just like none of this is what I wanted to happen. He's just sitting there shaking his head like I told you this is going to backfire. Rich had it right for the beginning they should have just gone to her & told her the truth.
So, typical Ridge as Brooke says years down the road. He just sits on the sidelines watching it all go down. While Brooke has to fight Stephanie alone.
Taylor's is perceptive, intuitive and her instincts are never wrong. I like her independence from the Forrester Creations. She is her own person with her credentials and she does not need to defined by her marriage but by her achievements and pride. Her marriage is not a sign of status, she achieved it by going to medical school for almost 8 years as a double major oncology and psychiatry. She researched and published, this is a true Makoti, intelligence and character. Sheila and Brooke are opportunists.
The last part with brooke and Stephanie going at each other is some of the best in the entirety of this show lol

I have to be honest, while I enjoyed the slapping between Brooke & Stephanie, I was a bit disappointed. I wanted something a bit more than that. Btw, Brooke’s slaps to Steve and then Stephanie was weak. If that were me, I would’ve slapped harder. But I did love the yelling and people pulling them off each other. That was hilarious. 😂
This is related to a comment I made about the acting. KKL is a competent actress but she doesn't get "lost" in the scene the way Susan Flannery does so the slap and the way she's being pulled from the room ends up feeling like watching an actor acting.

To answer your question, I think this quality is unique to Susan on this show. There are a few other solid soap actors on B&B but the only other one I've seen who sometimes loses herself in a scene is Kimberlin Brown.

This scene is an actor's dream. *Full Disclosure:* I'm an Emmy and SAG voter. I've worked as a journeyman actor for decades, stage and TV mostly, I'm classically trained, and I've also taught acting at a high level. To me this scene is a good example of why one of these actresses has a Golden Globe Award and FOUR Emmys. (And no, the lack of industry award recognition for KKL is not because other actors are jealous of her or any of the brain-worm conspiracies I've seen people make.) KKL is a solid soap actress but Susan Flannery is one of the best actresses of her generation. She's not that much older than me so I'm speaking of my generation as well. That difference is apparent even in the acting choices made by both women in this scene. Flannery's diction and surprising choices, her training is just obvious and impressive to an acting teacher. Really none of the other actors on this show are on her level. I got to meet her once (Bill Bell too) but sadly never worked with her.

Susan Flannery is Meryl Streep level, I wish she was a movie actress or at least worked in mainstream TV. One of the finest actresses ever. And I was just watching KKL thinking that she has come a long way. Her acting is quite solid at this point

@@donkeygospel6 I'm a member of the primetime actors branch so I vote on the nominees and winners in the acting categories and series categories at the Primetime Emmys. Same with SAG. And there were two times (in the 90s and early 2000's) when I was on the blue ribbon panel for the Daytime Emmys which meant I didn't get to vote for the nominees, but once the nominees were determined, I got to view the acting submissions and vote on the winners.

The way after the 18 minute mark Susan Flannery raises and lowers her hands and intentionally stumbles on her words and then she sighs and her body slumps when Brooke replies to her, it suggests the character's frustration and exhaustion. And the way her body slightly responds to everyone else's movements like how she turns back when the actor playing Connor approaches his mark, she's just always fully IN character and feels like a real person not like an actress waiting for her "moments." But the most impressive to me is her cadence, how her voice keeps finding a sharper and higher pitch, first when she calls out the crazy situation then when she snaps at Ridge and finally when she explodes at Brooke. Taking the scene higher and higher each time until it "pops" as we say. I hope that makes sense!

The situation wasn't created by her. Eric created it. Stephanie made it worst. But the belief patent issues was Eric's single handed poor judgment and failure as a "business man" (that he simply never was and he should have not run FC, he never had the brain capacity, intelligence or knowledge and very poor judgment).
He was the one that suggested the little charade with brooke and Steve was his idea and most of his doing.

I've lost count of how many times I've gone back and started B&B from the beginning. I watch through around 1995 and start all over again. It's SOOOO good. It's my comfort, my entertainment, and so much better than what they put out now. Quit watching B&B back in 2020 and never had any desire to resume. B&B in the 80's & 90's are all I need to enjoy my beloved soap.
Seeing Macy lying in the alley it's easy to think that now she has really hit rock bottom. And then you remember it's Macy, and her life is like that old joke about the pessimist and the optimist:
Pessimist: _Things can't possibly get any worse than this!_
Optimist: _Oh, sure they can! Just wait and see!_
And you realize what may appear to be rock bottom may really only be a narrow ledge halfway down - and it's about to give way.

This is one of those unlikable characteristics of Taylor. That she really does think she is better than everyone. "I married Ridge out of love, you married Eric for many other reasons", I believe Taylor concerning that, that she doesn't care (even if she stayed quiet in all the schemes her family did against Brooke, and that was for money), but how does she know about Sheila? Why does she assume there is no love?

Bold and the Beautiful needs to bring back All of these original casts members who are still around, because these shows are AMAZING!!! The shows today in 2023 are just not very good. Since Susan Flannery and Ron Moss left, Brooke basically seems to softly speak or whisper almost every line no matter the drama. Also the 2020’s era of B&B no one dresses up much, almost everyone looks sloppy, or messy and the B&B Hair and Wardrobe in the ,90’s era was STUNNING, everyone looks well presented and even when they have a character downtrodden, the makeup is so much better than todays (2020’s) B&B. These shows are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.
The remaining American soaps are dying of slow death ☠️💀. I wish the soaps would go back to the golden days with everything you said

*THE BRILLIANT PLOTTING OF THE BELIEF STORYLINE*
This is an iconic scene in the show’s history and the plotting leading up to it has been brilliant (and brilliantly Bill Bell). That Brooke and Connor are only now learning about Steve Crown is an example of how Bill Bell liked to parcel out information so that multiple story beats could be played out over time and there can be more than one climax. Had Brooke and Connor discovered everything at once, then we’d only have one climactic scene (when Brooke tore up the contract). But because he held back on this crucial information, we now get two climactic scenes: Brooke tearing up the contract last week and Brooke & Stephanie’s angry slap-fest this week. Withholding the Steve Crown reveal also allowed the story to take several turns, with Brooke even agreeing to give the Forresters back the formula thus proving definitively that she would’ve signed the contract from the very beginning if they’d been honest with her. But then the Steve Crown reveal undoes that progress and justifies Brooke going ahead with the takeover. That second part is important: Brooke has always occupied this middle ground where she’s neither fully a villain nor fully a heroine so the show needs her to take over the company without seeming to be power-hungry. And that balance is achieved here by having her just about to sign the release when Steve walks. So the brilliant plotting allows for multiple story and for good characterization.

Taylor's is perceptive, intuitive and her instincts are never wrong. I like her independence from the Forrester Creations. She is her own person with her credentials and she does not need to defined by her marriage but by her achievements and pride. Her marriage is not a sign of status, she achieved it by going to medical school for almost 8 years as a double major oncology and psychiatry. She researched and published, this is a true Makoti, intelligence and character. Sheila and Brooke are opportunists.
