  • This week we get to look at sewing shoes with vinyl fabric. This may seem a bit intimidating, but honestly it gets easier with just a bit of practice. Of course, having the right supplies on hand helps too!
In the video posted below, I walk you through the process while using vinyl to make a pair of Open Toe Janes shoes Enjoy!

If you are struggling, there is so much help in these videos! Don't like how your shoes toes are turning out, try the open toes!! ; )

This course is really well explained. I am looking forward to getting soles and making some to coordinate with dresses.

Making matching shoes sound appealing, but do I really need to add another thing to my projects? YES yes I do.

Quite awhile ago I bought the Shoe Master Class, but haven't watched it for awhile. I'm so glad the contest entry required that we watch it in order to have more entries. I recently made a bunch of Wellie size raincoats and didn't think to use my walking foot on the vinyl! I have the Teflon foot, but over the years the Teflon has worn away on it. I'm looking forward to trying the open toe shoe in vinyl. Thank you for all the info you provide!

I have some vinyl that I plan to use to try to make some doll shoes. This lesson made me want to try to make shoes instead of always buying them.

I’ve never tried vinyl for shoes, but I should! And using the Open Toe Janes pattern for a vinyl shoe is a great idea.

Never thought to use the walking foot I have on the vinyl shoes instead of investing in a non stick foot.

I am going to try to heat the vinyl with a hair dryer to see if it makes it more pliable.

Cute shoes, but I prefer the fabric ones….of course, a girl can never have too many shoes.

Making a little heel on the shoes is really cute - reminds me of when I was little. I have a plastic foot for my sewing machine - is that a "non-stick" foot? Or is the non-stick foot something different?

The non-stick foot feels smooth, like a teflon coating. Usually it's one that you have to purchase. I'd look it up to see for sure, it probably has a number or letter on it to identify the foot type.

The glue gun is a tool I need to use more of, no waiting for glue to dry.
