What a neat way to make bushes! To make bushes and topiary trees, I've always used a tiny tiny blossom cutter and stuck them on the balls of fondant. Scissors make it so much quicker!
I always thought butter cream was soft and could cause the layers to soften and bulge along the sides due to the fondant. I've used the icing with lard for that cause I never knew it would be ok to do it like this.

How manu minutes/hours do you chill the buttercream frosted cake before covering in fondant? Till it's rock hard? Do you encounter problems with condensation while applying the fondant?
Allison Ylescupidez I chill my cake for about 25-30 mins while I get my fondant ready. I look for when I can touch my finger to the buttercream and none of it comes off. I've only ever encountered trouble with condensation when my cake chills for too long before covering (several hours), though when that has happened I just let my cake come to room temp and after a while the condensation dries and the cake is fine!
