    yh I struggle to find more fine, thin, low density locd girls on RUclips and so I appreciate the small amount of people that do and go into depth with their experience, expressing their true thoughts and feelings about it all.

    Happy locaniversary !!! As a fine haired girly, I'm really happy to have found your channel and videos. Thank you for sharing your process. I started my locs last month and it's a wild adventure. Your video reminded me of why I started them in the first place

      Your words mean so much, I appreciate your kindness. I took a risk being vulnerable but I'm all for helping others. I'm giving what I never gotten and that's help with my hair and what inner happiness is so I share all of that so others can find their own happiness within even if it isn't hair related. ☺️🙏🏾✨

    Thank you for this video. I have alopecia as well; not a severe case though as I was diagnosed early. But I’m about to loc my hair as well. I think the low manipulation and lower maintenance just allows your hair and scalp to rest. Your hair looks great BTW

      Yes! We can still enjoy locs ☺️ less is more for us especially with alopecia. And since starting this journey it's proven to be so beneficial to my hair and overall daily life 🙏🏾✨ congratulations in advance for starting your locs! I hope it brings you as much joy and ease as it did for me 🥰

    I started my Loc journey a week after you did and it was nice finding you on YT and following your journey. I’ve had no problems with my hair or scalp. One issue I did experience was once a let a loctician 2 strand twist my locs. At the ends she tightly double rubber banded it. It was difficult for me to get the rubber bands out so I started pulling to try to break them. Some were hard to break or wouldn’t break and that resulted in “bubbles” in about 4 locs. That is a section near the ends where the hair is wrapped around itself real tight and narrow and then after it closer to the end it poofs out, and at the end it’s the regular size. Over this first year I haven’t noticed much increase in length, but my locs did thicken which I greatly appreciated because my hair is very fine. HAPPY LOCAVERSARY!!!

      Thank you so much and congratulations on your 1 year coming up as well! I'm confused why they put rubber bands on your starter locs 😳 even though we have fine hair it DEFINITELY shouldn't be rubber banded. Glad you were about to remove them with minimal damage. Our hair is fragile 😭. I'm loving the journey and loving my hair 😁 I hope you feel the same!! Welcome to the loc FAM 🫶🏾✨🖤

      @@Spirituallylocdin many people seal the ends of their 2 strand twist with rubber bands. What confused me was why 2 rubber bands were used and why so tight. I didn’t know it was 2 until well into trying to take them out. I went against my original plan of not styling my locs for the entire first year. I thought 2 strand twist wouldn’t be bad because I wanted my locs to have the curl pattern. Lesson learned.

      @@jlobryan6566 oh no ☹️ I never heard of rubber bands to start. Wow, I learned something new. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾✨. I get good and negative feedback from people who went to loctitians.

      @@Spirituallylocdin she didn’t start with rubber bands, she 2 strand twisted the locs and then put rubber bands at the ends to prevent unraveling. She used 2 rubber bands instead of just one to do that. She’s actually really good at caring for my hair and that was the only time I got her to style it.

    👋🏾 new subbie here! I don't have alopecia but I do have Seborrheic Dermatitis. I had to cut 4 of my locs off behind my left ear so that I can tend to my scalp as needed. It comes and goes over the last 10 years. I think it's time for me to see the Dermatologist again because my home remidies aren't working anymore

      Thank you for joining the fam 🥰 I'm sorry you have to experience that. I believe seeing a specialist will definitely help you! I use rogaine to maintain my edges. Natural remedies didn't keep the hair there. My alopecia comes and goes as well. We can only do our best 😊 I wish the best for you in getting better treatment for Seborrheic Dermatitis 🙏🏾✨

    Question:
    Do u ever got loc envy? or insecure about your loc shape as not all your locs are evenly lengthed?
    How often do u retwist?

    • @Spirituallylocdin
      @Spirituallylocdin  Год назад +5

      Not at all, I had no expectations with the outcome so no disappointments or longing for a look someone else had. When they grow out I will trim them down to even out for sure. That's just my alopecia. Some hair on my head is longer and my nape breaks off often so it'll take a while to catch up but I'm patient.
      Any locs that are real thin in the future I will fix with crochet. It's a wonderful tool to learn, you can repair and shape your locs as needed. Best to practice though which is what I'm working on ☺️.
