Synopsis:

A great movie. And a wonderful surprise for me, that the cast includes David Suchet -- the quintessential Poirot. I didn't even know that he was in any other movies (saw him in a documentary once and was shocked at how different he was in person). I googled him and found out that he's been in numerous movies and other tv spots. He's such a great actor. Interesting that he played both sides of the genre so well: crime investigator and the criminal being investigated. All the acting in this movie is top rate. As well as a clever story line. Ryan Reynolds again at his best.
Suchet was in Iron Eagle as the bad guy. It's what I know him best from, one of my childhood favorites.

Why is it that American film makers regularly cast one of us Englishmen as the bad guy? Should I feel offended and racially profiled by the type casting🤣🤣or proud that only Englishmen can be so polite and genteel whilst threatening and sinister at the same time.
That's an opinion (polite and genteel) you people have about yourselves, for centuries. However, the rest of the world begs to differ. I was mentioning Suchet as an actor, and was least interested in his racial profile.

People don't realize just how far back Ryan Reynolds actually goes. I even remember him being in a 90's version of "The Outer Limits" when he still had his baby fat! lol... He was destined for comedic stardom from the start. He's always had that "Ty Web meets Ferris Beuller" type thing about him! 😆👍

Outstanding soundtrack!
Movies do not depict chess correctly. Both players Queens start on their own color so White's Queen is on a light square, and Black's a dark one. To fix this issue they should rotate the board 90 degrees then setup the position. At 11:50 clearly the D1 square is not light and the D8 square is not dark. At 59:04 we have the same case and Black's King on e7 is in check from the Bishop on b4. Black can capture that Bishop with his Knight, but Re8 is checkmate next move, White wins!

It’s a bit of harmless: geek/nerd clean-cut fantasy adventure. They produce these types of movies for the up n coming actors. Suchard adds a bit of British “evil villain” gravitas to the fold. 😊

Weird. From the camerawork to the music to the script, this felt like an episode of Leverage. I dunno if that's a knock against this, or high praise for Leverage.
