    Excellent video, as always, and can't thank you and MrMach2 for the livery. I used to fly for BM in the late 1990s - they were then operating 3, 4 and 500 series aircraft (G OBMA was actually a 300 series) - I've just looked back through my log books and note that I never actually flew GOBMA for some reason - just about all the others in the fleet though. Lovely aircraft, a joy to fly.

      Thank you very much Maxautobrake! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and I hope it brought back some nice memories then. It's been great to see a few old Midland guys enjoying the livery.
      Always preferred the classic over the NG myself, but the 700 will have to do for the time being haha. Who knows, maybe I was even on one of your flights, I did a couple of trips with Midland around that time, as a young lad ; )
      I'm planning on having a whole host of Midland liveries done up in due course, I'll be uploading them to my Flightsim.to page when they're done : )

    A question; In the real world, would having a Master Caution illuminate briefly on take off be a cause to reject? I'm guessing if it switches off then there's no cause for concern, although I think personally it would leave me feeling uneasy!

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +1

      Cheers Adam! Much appreciated : )
      I can’t speak as to what they do on the 737, but the Airbus is a bit more clever, in that the aircraft will only really inform you about critical failures during the takeoff (the rest are inhibited). So on the bus yes, you would generally stop for an ECAM + a few other prescribed failures. Generally speaking, anything below 100kts and we would stop, above that we would be more “go minded” and above V1 you’re taking it into the air.
      There is one particular member of the Airbus family that I’ve flown, that does have a penchant for very briefly bringing up Master Warnings / ECAMS; usually so briefly, that one can’t even spot what they were in relation to. Initially it did leave everyone feeling a touch uneasy haha.
      I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best : )
      P.S. I actually would have liked to have know what caution was triggered during the takeoff run here. I’m glad it cleared though - I’d be lost without an ECAM XD

    Always wanted to learn the new higher end jets. Does it take a lot to learn them with all the systems?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +3

      Hi Lone Wolf,
      It can be quite time consuming initially, but I would say that once you have learnt one commercial jet, the rest are somewhat easier to learn thereafter. To some degree, these sorts of aircraft can be as simple or as complex as you want them to be; to get the 737 started up from cold and dark, could actually be done with just 5-10 switches, but to do it properly is of course much more protracted process. I would recommend keeping things simple initially and building up your knowledge with each flight. These days there is a wealth of tutorial materials on RUclips etc, which makes the whole learning process much more accessible than it used to be.
      I recommend giving it a go! It can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Perhaps start out with the FBW A320 (as it offers a good "stepping stone") and then go from there.
      Best of luck and happy flying! : )

I watched one of his recorded streams and there was dozens of things i had no idea was procedure and a lot of useful features too that i had no idea about. of course you're not as clueless as i was about it but you can definitely improve your experience if you see how he does it

I am always keen to learn more, but unfortunately I simply don’t have the time to learn each aircraft in as much depth as I would like. So generally I learn what I can and then fill in the blanks with checklists / my own knowledge (I therefore end up flying almost everything a bit like an Airbus haha). I’m really enjoying the 737 though, so I’m sure I’ll get there bit by bit.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад

      Thanks very much CG, I’m glad you thought so : )
      My graphical settings on this machine (I just brought a new PC) were broadly as such:
      - “High End” preset
      - Pre-Cache = Ultra
      - Terrain and Object visibility sliders set at 125% (sorry, I forget the actual names of them)
      - Motion Blur = Off
      - Glass Cockpit Refresh = Medium
      - AI Traffic = Off
      - VSync = On / 60fps
      That gives a nice balance between graphical fidelity and performance. I only run at 1080p, hence the decent FPS / smooth performance. The things I’ve turned off / down are known to be famerate hogs. I also spend a lot of time tweaking the weather / lighting in my videos, which accounts for much of the graphical fidelity, as that can make a huge different to how the sim looks overall.
      I hope that helps a little! All the best : )

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +1

      Hello James,
      The short answer would be "not a lot" haha. The 737NG family is almost identical from one variant to the next. There are minor systems differences etc, but the jets are designed to share as much commonality as possible. The main difference between the 600, 700, 800 and 900 (and indeed the 300, 400, 500 etc) is the fuselage size / length. Different cabin capacities mean that different airframes can be chosen to serve certain markets. For example, an airline might prefer a 600 over a 900, if they're only flying to destinations with light passenger loads (overall a smaller aircraft would be the more fuel efficient / cheaper option). At any rate, the cockpits are virtually identical as you point out.
      I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best : )

      I don’t use any Nvidia filters currently. I did very briefly, but could never find a balance I was happy with under all conditions, so I’m back to a “vanilla “ sim again now. I do occasionally use a slight vignette in some of my external shots (added in during editing), so it might be worth selecting that from the Nvidia filters, if you want to replicate the look of my videos a little more. Ultimately though, I tend to try and choose lighting / weather quite carefully for my videos and that makes a big difference in terms of how the sim looks overall.
