I beat it when it first came out. That's also when I started distancing myself from the lore. Bringing back Wesker was a bad move, in my eyes. Games in the franchise that had problems deserve the remake treatment. So, CV absolutely deserves a remake. It should have been remade before RE4.

@CAPCOM. As a long time Resident Evil fan who only recently got into playing/running CVX and actually finishing it (with and without Green Herb glitch) this title is beloved by most and has a bug following, everything I stream it I get a new follower or 2. I believe I speak for the vast majority of our community when I say we want a remake of Code Veronica more than any other of the games. We'll take whatever as long as it's good, but please CVRe please! 🙏

I strongly agree because Code Veronica essentially connects all the Resident Evil games together and Code Veronica has the absolute best music and best final boss ever in my opinion. So definitely remake Code Veronica ASAP
Wesker had PLENTY of reasons to hate Chris. Albert went rogue in RE0 after discovering that James Marcus was still alive, he decided that staying with Umbrella was too risky and unsafe since all this could've hit the news, bringing heavy attention. After all, him and Birkin tried to kill Marcus. So Wesker decides to leave Umbrella and sell T-Virus, the Tyrant and the S.T.A.R.S. combat data to Umbrella's rival company simply known as "The Organization".
Wesker had everything planned and ready, but Chris f***ed it up for him. Chris killed the Tyrant, ordered Rebecca to detonate the Spencer mansion, resulting all of the combat data to be lost in flames.
After re-animating Wesker had just enough time to get out of the mansion, and in the end he was left with NOTHING. Which possibly made "The Organization" pretty pissed. So Wesker needs to re-do all that in RE Code Veronica and bring T-Veronica Virus this time around, which is a more challenging task compared to his previous attempt.
That is exactly what Wesker meant when he told Chris “you destroyed my plans” and that is the reason of his hatred for Redfield. No plot holes here. Everything was explained.
As mentioned in the video this argument doesn’t work, especially when you state that “Wesker had everything planned and ready, but Chris f***ed it up for him” this statement assumes Chris did it all by himself and that Chris deserves all of the hatred from Wesker yet this argument fails to recognize the other S.T.A.R.S members being in the Mansion incident.
It also assumes that the S.T.A.R.S did nothing in the finale yet you later state “ordered Rebecca to detonate the Spencer mansion” which is a contradiction, since now the S.T.A.R.S members did do something? Plus, it runs into the other issue of Rebecca now needing to share in Wesker’s hatred since she blew up the Mansion which as you even state” resulting all of the combat data to be lost in flames” Shouldn’t Rebecca and the other S.T.A.R.S be heavily hated by Wesker as well? Why does Chris take all of Wesker’s hate? This is the whole topic of the video, not to mention that’s a pretty apparent plot hole. Another thing to mention as well is that your starting argument makes zero sense “Wesker had PLENTY of reasons to hate Chris” yet the first two reasons aren’t even Chris’s fault, so how does that argument apply here?
Theres also other problems with your specific argument, “Chris killed the Tyrant” This isn’t the case since this point assumes that Chris’s campaign is “Canon” but we know for a fact that this isn’t possible, since if it were the case, you’d run into the other “plot hole” of Barry no longer surviving the Mansion incident and it wouldn’t make sense for him to appear in future games. But I wouldn’t be surprised if you’d fail to see these plot holes especially with a statement like this “No plot holes here. Everything was explained.”
Lastly, if you can’t recognize that RE1 and RECV both have plot holes than there’s no real reason to continue this conversation since nothing in your argument has proved that Wesker is justified in hating solely Chris, in fact your argument quickly ends up turning into an argument of opinion instead of fact since you’re whole argument boils down to failing to recognize 2 apparent plot holes and trying really hard to change the story by essentially saying that Chris was solely responsible for the blowing up the Mansion and killing Tyrant and therefore leading to Wesker’s hatred that goes above the other S.T.A.R.S members.

Personally I don't feel like Wesker saving Chris is a plot hole.
Wesker's main goal has always been to lure the STARS team to the mansion in order to collect combat data against BOWs,
so it kinda made sense for him to keep them alive before reaching the mansion.
Also throughout Chris' campaign Wesker would leave supplies for him in safe rooms,
not out of good intension but more so just to keep his test subject alive for longer.
Chris likely once saw Wesker as a dependable squad captain,
just to learn that in Wesker's eyes he's been nothing more than a guinea pig.
Not to mention the death of almost all of Chris' comrades,
I can totally understand why Chris has strong hatred towards Wesker.
Yeah, Its not a plot hole and its not even the topic of the video which is why I stated this in written form at the beginning of the video. The only reason this comment is at the beginning of the video is because it led me to talk about the actual topic/ plot hole which was why does Wesker hate Chris so much?
Also I’m not really understanding your last point since we’re not talking about Chris’s hatred towards Wesker.
I wonder if CV and 5 really are both in dev right now, kinda like how they did with 2 and 3? Only this time I hope they nail both instead of halfassing one.
That would honestly be amazing if CV and RE5 were both getting a remake at the same time and I 100% agree, hopefully it wouldn't be a repeat of what occurred with RE3R.

I think CV needs a remake, should've gotten one before RE4 remake to be honest.
But yeah in a perfect world they would remake Zero-Veronica and really get the Racoon city and Umbrella saga down with no plot holes.

As far as I can recall, In RECV, Wesker reveals in his report that the plan that cost his humanity failed because the STARS team blew the Tyrant up, and he was supposedly marginalized by his new organization because the combat data he collected for his new employer became useless because of Tyrant's death. But this still doesn't explain why he hates Chris so much, particularly. So in the possible RECV remake, the scriptwriter should expand upon how he is marginalized by his new employer after his fake death, and how Chris exposed his conspiracy and cracked his persona as a good captain.
I agree Code Veronica should be remade instead of Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 5 needs a remake even less then Super Metroid does.

and i wonder if him showing off his plans to chris in the first game was an attempt to get him to join him without outright asking him
the only thing i can think of.
Wesker hated of Chris could be a side effect of the virus that he injected himself with. since he does say in Umbrella chronicles "Hatred became my Master" when the virus brought him back and he focused all his hatred towards chris.
The virus could have Amplified Wesker's hate for chris and made it 100 times worse on obsessive level and made him more crazy.
This is a great theory and would be great to see in a RE1 Re-Remake or flashback in RE CVR since they could have it as Wesker injecting himself and after waking up the first thing he sees is Chris, this could definitely explain his hatred solely for him, again great theory😎👍

I feel like wesker really hates Chris because he always makes fun of Wesker’s self important attitude, also after seeing wesker kick Claire in the face just because she’s chris’ sister really made me see how much wesker can’t stand him on a deep level. Like Claire was already no threat to him he had no business kicking her like that

I have a bigger problem with 0 making Rebecca fight monsters much stronger and bigger than we find in one, and then in the remake (that was been worked on alongside 0) Rebecca is still weak and scared

I kinda hope they do something in the spirit of RE2 where both characters get a different final boss fight.
I feel like chris’ story ending in a shootout with Wesker and getting a bunch of shots off on him and turning the release of tyrant into weskers last resort because he was losing the fight with chris and then having the tyrant impale him and have wesker like scream CHRISSS as he dies or something would be entertaining and lead into their rivalry.
And then have Jill fight the Tyrant boss or something like have her intervene at the last minute of the confrontation with wesker and have to deal with the Tyrant while Chris goes to signal down the helicopter
This is a fantastic idea👍 and it would solve the plot hole.
Chris was never meant to overcome the tyrant and most certainly not survive the mansion being blown up, but Brad came along and rescued him. His hatred came from the fact he survived the mansion incident. While he can't prove anything to the authorities because the evidence was destroyed. He still possesses knowledge he shouldn't have, which makes him a threat to Wesker and his plans.
The problem with this argument (as stated in the video) is that your forgetting about Jill, also since Rebecca, Barry, Brad, Jill and Chris were all there I don't see how Chris is the only one that possesses knowledge that he shouldn't have if everyone that survived the Mansion Incident has this information?

Agreed. CV should be remade. I've always thought CV was a challenging game in the franchise. Granted, I was younger then, but the Ashfords really creeped me out...
Honestly if CV gets remade they should just remove the whole "Wesker hates Chris" thing. I feel like it makes more sense that he doesn't necessarily like Chris but he does have some degree of respect for him. That would honestly make for a more interesting rivalry between them especially if Chris feels the same way, doesn't necessarily like Wesker but he can't help but respect him to a degree, and it's not until the events of RE5 when that respect becomes hatred on both sides.
No they shouldn't remove their mutual hatred for each other at all Wesker hates Chris becuase he ruined all of his plans in RE1 so it's not a plot hole it makes sense.
I’d argue for RE1 to be done first, it’s not the game that needs to be remade the most but it can setup that Chris rivalry versus coming back to it after a 5 remake comes out.
I'm glad Capcom is recognizing the success of resident evil and making the games all over again and improving on them for the most part the only remake I would say could have been better was re3 but even than it was still fun playing it and had very good combat so code veronica remake,re5,re1,and maybe revelations all of those remakes have the potential to make resident evil the best gaming series in my opinion if they don't screw it up.
I suppose Chris’s scenario in RE1 is the canon one in terms of Jill being captured towards the end. That would establish Chris as the one who foiled Wesker’s plan in RE1.
This is what the games seem to want to convey but as explained in the video you run into the other issue of Barry not surviving which impacts other games so you ultimately end up with another plot hole.
Agreed 110%. Back then it was even a weird pothole for the time. Other than RE9 I think 1 and Veronica need to come out next. It doesn't matter to me which one comes first just as long as they fix that and make it more sensible. Honestly one of my fears is if you remember the movies or partially to blame for the games meaning more action based. And I know saying to blame sounds bad but I do like five it's one of my favorites. My fear is they're gonna take some stupid thing from welcome to raccoon city for example where there was a line from Jill to Chris about Chris being in love with Jill or something. I am kind of worried they might take something like that and make the reason why Wesker despises Chris is because Wesker wanted Jill but Chris got her or something. Capcom has been doing amazing things with the franchise the last several years but that thought does linger in my head and it scares the hell out of me lol. Another awesome video!
That's a great point on the Paul W.S.A movies having an effect on the series though I doubt it'll happen with WTRC since that movie didn't do as well as the P.W.S.A movies. did overseas,😎👍
What if him despising Chris is simply not exclusive to Chris? There would be no reason for him to list everyone he despises if only one of them is mentioned. Why would he respond to Claire with “I despise Chris, Jill, Rebecca, Barry, and Brad!” She only mentioned Chris, so he stayed on topic. Then, later in the same game, Chris and Wesker face-off, giving him a reason to despise Chris even more if need be.
Wesker PROBABLY hates Chris so much because he reminds him of his failure in the Spencer Mansion and he must be lowkey jealous as well since Chris has a lot of loved ones especially a little sister. Chris pisses Wesker off so much because of how he was able to squash Wesker's "iron clad" plan from RE1 and 0 💀

Code veronica is hands down the best Resident evil there is. It still has the classic gameplay of the ps1 era but better graphics and smoother gameplay. Ive been wishing for years they would remake this and ever since they started to remake the 2nd i started to get hope. I really can't w8 until they finally remake this and i truely hope for the sake of future games that they give CV the remake respect it deserves (so basicly not like 2-3 but remake it like they did with 4)
Wesker probably blames Chris for leaving him to die in the mansion.
As mentioned in the video this argument doesn't work since technically Jill, Rebecca, Barry, Chris and even Brad left him to "die" in the mansion. So in reality Wesker's hatred being focused solely on Chris doesn't make sense, and as someone else pointed out in the comments Wesker hates Chris so much that he ended throwing hands on his sister even though Claire didn't do anything to instigate in CV.
Firstly, Leading the STARS to the mansion was Wesker’s intention, that’s been mentioned in RE0 and Wesker’s Report, Umbrella Chronicles, to let him survive for as long possible, gather combat the data until he doesn’t need him anymore, Wesker hates Chris, because thing thing go accordingly becauset was foiled by Chris, as for Jill, there’s the possibility that she could have been locked in to the cell, as for Barry, Wesker used Barry to play the Judas, while Rebecca, he has a thing for Rebecca, he got her film. That explains why his hatred is centered to Chris, Chris might canonically be who went through hell to discover the lab

Imo RE1 needs a Remake before CV not only because it’s riddled with plot holes but to also correct the plot hole in RE2 remake. In the RE2 remake there’s no mention of Ada’s boyfriend John even though we were first introduced to Ada in John’s file in RE1.
The quote “remake in 2002 that was a remastered that was not no remake. A remake is literally the definition of resident evil two and three my definition of a remake is the story is changed. The bed puzzles are different a little bit and the knife and other weapons are far better than the original, Veronica is literally the only game I can think of that actually has the knife where it’s overpowered
I feel RE1 should be done first just to set the stage for CV. CV definitely deserves the remake treatment the most but since they didn't do it after 3 and 5 definitely feels like they'll get there eventually, why not take this time to focus on the Chris/Wesker rivalry. Maybe Wesker has always disliked Chris and he didn't want a dog to take away his victory over him, like he wanted to be the one to do it.

In RE1 remake didn't Wesker offer Chris to join him in his scheme in the end? Wesker didn't give Jill that same offer only Chris. Chris not only rejected his offer but wrecked Wesker's plans which was probably seen by Wesker as a betrayal. I could be wrong but that could be the reason he hated Chris.
I think the points of him being "angry" at Chris is irrelevant. I think it would be more interesting to see the background of how Wesker became apart of the research team at the mansion, and his role in the research team more so, than his animosities with Chris.
Code veronica needs to be remade, also capcom should re-release the original copies of resident evil for newer gen consoles, be great to relive the original games from the 90's, just how they did with the OG tomb raider games
I think for better or for worse, Wesker has some sort of monicle of respect for chris. I mean look what he did to Jill. And think about what his overall goal was. His goal was to create a race of people with "superior genetics" by wiping out those with "inferior" genes with uroboros. That being said, he could of easily killed chris and jill many times throughout code veronica and re5, but he ultimately let them live. I believe that although Wesker hates Chris, he still sees him worthy of being a part of his eutopia. So instead of killing him, he would much rather have him under mind control like Jill.
There is a theory as to why Wesker hates Chris so much. However, the answer requires us to look deep into that shitty RE movie which blended RE1 and RE2 together. It also requires looking into the RE5 files as well. Here's the theory, Chris and Albert are brothers. In the RE movie, it had Chris and Clare as orphans that were under the watch of Umbrella. Chris was very close to Birkin in the movie. Add in the "Wesker children" from the RE5 files, and it could be possible that Chris and Albert are part of the same project. Also, remember Albert said he didn't want to give up his precious S.T.A.R.S. members. That was all Umbrella. So it wasn't Albert collecting the data. So its possible Albert has this hatred because he feels inferior to Chris who defeated every monster without having to use a shot for super powers.
Wesker hates Chris and Jill for ruining his plans. Plus they openly mock him and laugh ar him. Theres a point in UC where Albert even says "Hatred became my master".
There are two points to the plot hole conundrum.
1. The point you made about collecting data and needing STARS alive.
2. My theory is, because Wesker’s plans were thwarted, STARS survived and Wesker wasn’t planning on that. When Wesker was infected, he needed an antidote to keep the virus under control and so he hates Chris and Jill.
Technically theres only 1 point to the plot hole as I stated at the beginning that initial comment isn’t a plot hole it was just a comment that led me to the topic of the video.
Secondly you’re point on Wesker hating specifically Jill And Chris has issues since as mentioned in the video it doesn’t seem like Wesker hates Jill as much as Chris which is why I brought up the whole point of Lost in Nightmares.
I don't think he hates Chris specifically. He would probably tell any of the S.T.A.R.S members the same thing, that he absolutely despises them. It just so happens that Chris is the one who usually faces off against Wesker. If it was any of the other members, it would probably be the exact same.
In the case of Rebecca and Barry I'd agree since there's obviously no evidence to support the idea that Wesker does or doesn't hate them the same as Chris since those characters haven't been in the same room together since RE1 but in regards to Jill (as mentioned in the video) there is evidence that supports the idea that Wesker doesn't hate Jill nearly as much as Chris thanks to the events of LIN DLC and RE5.
@@projectweskerre I gotta disagree. I think that him hating Jill as much as Chris is shown simply by her being his slave. He used her as an experiment and treated her as a tool. I personally feel that the remake could explore that more and show how he has happiness and pride in knowing that a hated member of STARS is his puppet.
@@RacoonCityPizza I disagree due to the fact that if Chris was the one to fall in LIN, Wesker wouldn’t have kept him as a puppet, the evidence to support this is the fact that we see Wesker making several remarks to hating Chris in RE CV and in Re5, yet he doesn’t make any remarks on any other Stars member including Jill in this case.
Which is why I stated theres more evidence to support the idea that Wesker used Jill as a puppet to solely get back at Chris as opposed to Wesker hating Jill more so he used her as a puppet just because he hates Jill, in fact the times that he speaks of Jill theres no real anger in his voice, yet when he speaks with or about Chris there’s always hatred unless he’s showing off by making a point that he’s superior.
Also, with all the evidence I highly doubt he would keep Chris as a puppet. The series has been very clear on Wesker being Chris’s nemesis yet there’s been no evidence to support the idea that Jill is also Wesker’s nemesis (hence the reason for the video, which is to say that Capcom/ RE devs need to make it clear as to why Chris is hated more than any other character by Wesker)
@@projectweskerre Possibly. I personally believe if Chris fell out of that window instead of Jill, that he would keep Chris as a puppet. It would be hell for Chris to be forced to serve someone he hates. It's sort of like that Wesker would view death as too merciful. I feel that a 5 remake could explore this. It could really add on to Jill's PTSD that is shown in the latest movie.
I might get a bit of heat because I'm going to dump a bit on CV, but here we go. This game is probably the RE that will benefit the most from a Remake since many things aged like milk or were already bad back then.
The environment isn't acknowledged, like, you are stuck in the freaking Antarctica where going outside will kill you in seconds, you are completely isolated from civilization, this is easily the most hostile environment in the whole RE, forget Racoon City, forget Valedelobos, forget Africa or Edonia, this environment will kill you in seconds without even needing the monsters... meanwhile Claire and Steve are out there chillin with short sleeves in a snowstorm while Steve is on the verge of falling gripping by a single hand to a piece of frozen metal that would end up with him getting frostbite while Claire tells him to hold on since she's going to fight the boss... Lmao even on normal conditions that is stupid since gravity would do a number on Steve lonely hand, let alone with that weather kek.
Wesker despises Chris because... why exactly? Wesker played Chris and the others STARS members that ended up with most of the team dead, if anyone should hate anyone is Chris that should hate Wesker due to his dead friends. Wesker even played Chris by faking his death that Chris reported to Chief Irons that reported to Umbrella taking any heat off Wesker's back allowing him to operate in the shadows at will. Chris might have performed better than expected against the BOWs but he was nothing but a pawn to Wesker giving him combat data and confirming his fake death. There's zero reasons for Wesker to hate Chris.
The backtracking of this game is atrocious, easily the worst in any RE game, if you are playing for the first time without a guide, then good luck and even then it's not funny at all.
The sharing of items without warning as you switch characters can screw you up big time if this your first time without a guide.
Steve is annoying as hell, the idea that Claire fell for him is laughable when he spent a good chunk of the game making sure Claire would put herself in far more danger than necessary. Unless Claire is one of those girls that wants guys who are nothing but problems, kinda like Leon, but at least in Leon's case Ada is a femme fatale spy, Steve is annoying and incompetent,.
This game and RE0 are the only RE's that I tried to pick up multiple times and end up getting bored halfway and dropped them halfway and I tried to pick them up again only to get bored again. Talk as much trash as you want about RE6, but I never dropped it halfway like I did with those despite being a bad game.
I don't think the Remakes are the flawless games that most people paint them either with the cut content, uninspired score or butchered characters, but I think CV would be one of the games that would benefit a lot from a remake, far more than RE5 or RE1.
Weskaer hates Chris because wesker is the villian and Chris is the good guy, this is how they developed the characters, it gives Chris his position over Wesker
wesker is a special forces super genius who works at the local police station, he wants to destroy the world and stars, he states this in the game, despite his ability to cause global disaster he cant destroy stars reputation after killing all its members and plotting global destruction, this is because chris is the justification of stars, his character validates stars despite its leader being a global terrorists so in all wesker can kill off all the stars members create global disaster be a super genius special forces operative but he cant destroy the reputation of stars due to chris and jill but mainly chris heroism. this allows for the bsaa to be formed and leads wesker into a state where he starts infecting himself with the virus due to his meglomania and hate for chris. chris starts with just 4 item slots and no weapons he is humble and stupid but these virtues make stars the good guys, stars are a crucial part of resident evil. the underpinning plot line is stars is a good organisation and its just run by a super villain, all its members were killed off and chris has a hard start off in his mission which validates this but in the end stars are still the heroes they over came wesker. changing this means no bsaa and wesker wont infect himself this plot line keeps chris from being the main protagonist and allows jill to be in the spotlight also, as chris is the muscular young millitary guy he gets stupidity and humility so jill can have a character development in the face of chris'.
What they could do for the remake of Rosney and one is the same scenarios for resident evil to remake Chris and Jill and then the same thing that would be an interesting thing they could do

I think the only logic justification of why wesker hate chris “at this moment” is that chris scenario was the canon one, jill was their sure but she was the alternative point of view if that make sense,
Or that wesker hate how chris is so passionate about saving vulnerable humans that wesker consider them inferior to his plans, maybe more passionate than jill in that matter ?

Exactly, but the problem that arises is the other plot hole of if Chris's campaign is canon then Barry doesn't make it out of the mansion and it wouldn't make sense that Jill would just be there but not assist unless she was knocked out or something hence the big plot hole.

My take on this whole thing is colon in the western world it’s not from the pond so much if there’s a vendetta between different genders such as male and female. In the past during 1998, in Japan a man hating on or being very angry towards another man goes off better than a man in a superior stance going after a woman. That could’ve possibly been transferred over to the Western world when this game was created. It could just be in regards to cultural differences when this game was initially created. The storyline stay the same due to Japanese culture. That’s my opinion on it having a little in sight from an East Asian studies minorand have a minor on it.
Maybe it’s a hot take. But I never liked CV because the pacing is way off. And the main items you need to get doesn’t make sense in the order you get them. Hopefully if they do. They fix those issues. Then I probably would like it.
You know there something that nobody seems to not talk about and that is raccon city the most iconic location in the series right...i thought in 2 and 3 remake we would explore the whole huge city like how it would seem to be implied in resident evil 2 remake intro but we barley explore anything in the city in those games ...but if the rumors are true they should hold off on open world and just make a spin off game that take place in raccoons city ....make it an actual living breathing location you would want to desperately escape from make it hard to survive in the world of survival horror
They should take some inspiration from dark souls 1 and Bloodborne make it semi open world where there hidden secret passage or inter connected air quote world to location to make it easier to survive and give that game some kinda timer, kinda like the virus gauge but its more like try to escape this huge maze of the world of raccoons city before it gets nuked ( nuked will be your timer )

I would hazard a guess that Chris was always that one co-worker that gets on your nerves no matter what they do. And then being slain in front of Chris was embarrassing, but multiplied by the fact that Chris gets out alive and starts the take down of Umbrella. I think there's a little bit of male competition in his head, too. Chris is a healthy and intelligent man which made Wesker jealous. Very "high school" scenario. It's also why he doesn't care about Jill or Rebecca.
It would be great if we got an interaction of Wesker and Chris in R.P.D. that would show this kind of work relationship in the form of a flashback either in RE CV Remake or a RE1 Re-Remake.
I think the hatred was mostly an offscreen thing. We find out in notes from 2 and 3 that Chris is out of Raccoon City investigating Umbrella. Even though Wesker is considered dead to the survivors, he was still actively doing things to further his plans. Using the extra scenes from Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles (don't even get me started on why we need full games for those), we see that Wesker was still active during 2 and 3. It's not too hard to believe that Chris unknowingly interrupted plans by someone who is connected to Umbrella. It isn't too unbelievable because Wesker is one of his few leads. We even see that Wesker shows up when Chris and Jill are storming the Umbrella base. I believe that all of this should be fully explained, but it does seem like it's implied.
PS: Code Veronica should definitely be remade next
Chris insulted Wesker in an extremely personal way in RE1 ps1. He called him “pitiful” laughed at him and killed Tyrant. Chris disrespected Wesker and Wesker wound up the loser. Wesker may also have been jealous of Jill’s affection towards Chris. RE1 OG had a much different flavor.
I think they should do RE1 again first with an A/B scenario and an ending with all four characters leaving in the helicopter. Then do 0 (with some story additions that tie it in more with the first game), then do the Code Veronica remake.
In order of importance to me CV needs remake the most, then the first and 5 needs the remake treatment the least. I know they'll do it, but I hope we get CV remake first at least. The could just recap Re 1 events in the CV remake.
