That is why most Nigerians don't see themselves as part of the problems with the country. The country to them is the government, so they push every responsibility to the government forgetting that those in government are mere representative samples of the nation as a collective.

True but there's a saying, "You can't fight city hall" at least that's the mindset of most of us. it's why we don't organize cause we are already defeated in our minds which is where most battles start.

This man never let down the hope to enjoy his discuss, opinion and ideas.
The way he thinks is really eye opening and I am proud to always yearn to listen to him.
His world outlook and the way I perceive this book is written I would liken it to Malcom Gladwell’s approach to inquisition, if you read the outliers and what the dog saw amongst many other of his works you will see the shallowness of our thoughts and ideas generally as humans and in particular as Nigerians, it is in those nuances that we obliterate through lazy and hurried thinking are what makes the difference. Quantitative and arm chair thinking without qualitative narrative and the questioning/discerning rigour.
The devil they say lies in the details.

Meanwhile, APC ought to restructures it's process of choosing it's cabinets for effective and efficient management of the state resources. 16:37

I have always opposed the idea of "opening prayer and closing prayer" in events.
I deduced that from marriages that were handled by clerics and marriages that just happened by way of the streets, you'd realise that some marriages handled by the clerics would collapse despite the prayers and all sorts showered on them; whereas the ones encountered on the streets enjoy grace.
Prayers don't influence conducts or misconducts. Conscience influences good conduct and control misconducts.

The problem of housing data comes from the government Mr. Fashola. The government doesn’t keep accurate data of the private sector because that is also a contributor to the housing deficit. The government can’t do it all. Now as Minister, what did you do to rectify how criteria for data collection in the housing sector. You can’t blame Nigerians for holding on to data from international organisations when locally we have not presented a trustworthy alternative. We don’t have to wait for census every half a century to have data for the housing sector.

@@princeteddyvictoregbon230 You definitely have comprehension issues. My comment didn’t centre on his performance as a minister but in reference to criticism of Nigerians on using housing statistics of international organisations when the ministry he led is responsible for collating the data. Absence of which leads Nigerians to rely on international organisations. I hope you not one of those psychopaths that can’t take reasonable criticism of those they worship. Just so you know, I admire and respect Fashola a lot.

Again, the country is inseparable from the country's LEADERSHIP. It's the leadership that makes a country. However, Nigeria is about to build leadership training philosophy as its should be. The country has been governed directionless, visionless leaders and purposeless individuals for the past sixty years. Can Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and his team be able to bring about the best aspirational leadership?

What makes a government, what is Nigeria, what makes a country work, is it not the government? So when someone talks about Nigeria as a country they are indirectly referring to the governance of the country, if a geographical location has no inhabitants people hardly speak about the place except for tourist attractions. So there is no way someone will mention the evil of Nigerian politicians without mentioning the geographical location. Thank you.

The discourse is about self actualisation through recognition of deficiencies. BRF has only make it plain to us. Our life philosophy has to be modified to allow true dreams to be actualise. This, as he said, is a generational challenge. I once said the basics has to be assured for citizens to climb the first ladder of self actualisation in order to continuously promote hope and aspiration.

Nigerian motorists who were stranded and were plying dilapidated, death traps and abandoned federal roads in Edo State will forever remember him as a callous and inconsiderate man.
The death of many innocent citizens on those roads will forever be crying out loud for justice and fairness in the delivering of federal government infrastructure policy.
He had the opportunity to change the poor infrastructure narratives in Nigeria and he failed miserably.
Instead, he embraced nepotism and corruption. And shadow contractors were mandated to take over federal government roads with little or no experience of roads construction and maintenance.
And accountability was relegated to the dust bin with impunity.

Though Fashola is more educated than me academically, but we both have basic reasoning wisdom. We always try to reason differently from others and this brings haters to us but we cant change.
The only area i didnt agree with him is the one million housing a year. Yes it can ve possible. 774 local government can build 1200 house each in one year. Yes every local government can build 1200 houses multiply by 774 local government, we can get closed to one million houses a year in Nigeria

In Nigeria, all you need to know is how to reel out big grammars, very difficult ones to understand for that matter, then you become a very good and competent leader. A very good example is Mr Raji Fashola SAN. After 8yrs of being a state governor and another 8yrs of being a super Minister, he suddenly wakes up to talk about problems inhibiting the progress of the country. There is a long way to go in Nigeria.

We should try as much as possible to stop deceiving ourselves. We have to define Nigeria and who is a Nigerian and we have to get the facts straight concerning Bayo Onanuga and Mcolomo's threats to people of Igbo origin from the SE Nigeria during the last 2023 election in Lagos the former federal capital of Nigeria.Up till today nobody from the FG apologized for those statements and ethnic profiling instead these people were rewarded with Ministerial Portfolios of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and received National Assembly approval. What is the accuracy of the deportation of SE people from Lagos during Fash government and why do we call fellow citizens moving from one part of the country to another part of the country as immigrants. What effort did FAsh make to reconstruct the present Nigeria Constitution which is our biggest set back, I mean he was a super Minister for 8 years.

Your obsession with Lagos is nauseating. Fact check this - Today's Lagos state WAS NEVER EVEN FORMER FCT. The former FCT was just only 1/4 of Lagos Island. Ikeja, Mushin, Epe, Ikorodu, Badagri, Lekki, Ajah, Abule-Egba, Agege, all the mainland, west, south and east of Lagos state were all under the old Western region (Western state). Lagos is not the only state in Nigeria for God's sake. why the obsession?. Calabar was once Southern FCT before the FCT was moved to Lagos and northerners. Edo, Kanuri and Yoruba are NOT claiming Calabar. Yoruba and Edo people are not claiming Abuja despite being our current FCT. You are NOT the only Nigerians residing in Lagos. Hausa including Dangote have huge investment in Lagos, yet, they are not fighting the indigenous Lagosians politically. Yoruba, Fulani, Kanuri and so on are not fighting for political positions in the SE. So, why are you fighting the people of Lagos? Your obsession with Lagos is too much. Listen, as long as there is still state of origin stuff in 9ja, the indigenous people of Lagos have a special right over anyone else. If Ahmed Shagari or Ola Adebiyi can't become governor of Anambra state, then no Emeka Ezinwo can become governor of Lagos state. So please leave Lagos alone. Your obsession is too much. Hausa aren't obsessed with Lagos. Are you more Nigerian than the Hausas?

    • @yummybims2991
      @yummybims2991 10 месяцев назад +2

Nobody tags anyone as "immigrant". Your issue is, you want to dictate to the indigenes in their own land. Yoruba and Hausa are not getting involved in your local politics. But, you want to forcefully rule others in their won land. Why didn't you complain when Anambra state government said only the indegenes of Anambra will be hired for its government jobs? Just Google this if in doubt. You don't give other Nigerians chances in your region, yet, you have a gut to challenge others in their region. Lagos state is NOT different from Anambra or Imo. Just because 1/4 of Lagos Island was previously used as FCT, it does not mean that Lagos state is no longer owned by the indigenous people of Lagos. 60% of today's Lagos was previously in Ogun. Lagos state was created by carving out many towns and villages from Ogun state to create today's Lagos state after the FCT was moved to Abuja. So, get your fact right. Lagos is a state and today's Lagos was never our former FCT. Finally, ask yourself this - Why are you guys (NDI-IGBO) the only ones crying over Lagos? Is it your small London? You are not more Nigerians than the Hausa, yet, they are not obsessed with Lagos cos their native states are enough for them.

    • @ezinwo1961
      @ezinwo1961 10 месяцев назад

Thank you for your assertions and elevated levels of concern
Calabar was never that capital of Nigeria in the facts straight to the exact you suggest
The Anambra comment was not targeted to any specific tribe.
The status of Lagos is in substance and fact still an FCT just now Dodan Barracks has been added to the president's office and part of CBN is moving back
I agree with your submission about other ogun lands ceded to Lagos notwithstanding it is for expansion and development
I stand on democratic representative government in any part of the country, we should be able to devolve the government structure in Lagos to even 25 percent from other Tribes outside Yoruba and it doesn't have to be Igbo, it can be Edo, Ijaw, Hausa but just representative of the population
Abuja will certainly end up with the same situation because when Abuja was started it was meant to be carved out for all. So that body from any tribe or even foreigner who is a citizen can govern, Represent without molestation. Now how come again we have traditional rulers of Abuja?
Am not obsessed with your tribal Lagos but my patriotic Lagos is a FCT and as long as Nigeria is one it will remain my favorite and I will fight for balance yes give the original Lagos and Ogun 70 percent but give other Nigerians 30 percent.
Not every Yoruba is from old Lagos and Ogun and you know as I know that those two smallest states in those days cannot make up for over 20 million in population.
Critical Mass is the greatest investment and former Asiwaju Tinubu government in Lagos an intelligent man knew that.

@@ezinwo1961 Read my comment again. I never said Calabar was 9JA FCT. I wrote that Calabar was once Southern FCT. Yes, Calabar was our southern FCT before the Brits merged the north and the south. Up till tomorrow, no Yoruba or Edo/southerner is fighting over Calabar. Fact check this - The only tribe in 9ja that clashes with Calabar people is Igbo. You have even gone to the extent of tagging them Igbo or Biafra by force. It is over 32 years now that the FCT was moved from Lagos Island to Abuja. Yet, you continue to tag Lagos state as FCT. You mentioned that you are going to continue to fight the indigenous people of Lagos state in their state. Listen, you CAN NEVER win this fight as long as STATE OF ORIGIN remains. People like you are just going to make Lagos state government implements a law or bill that won't favor me, you and other non-indigenes. I apologize in advance if this statement hurts - I see you as a reflection of other Igbo sons and daughters. It is safe to say that you all see Lagos state as your favorite state going by your statement (Lagos "will remain my favorite"). Nigeria has dozens of tribes. Igbo are NOT the most populous in Nigeria. I have travelled across the whole country. I have never seen any tribe that is so obsessed with Lagos state like Ndi-Igbo. Most tribes I know including the Hausas are NOT obsessed with Lagos. Their state of origin is their favorite and not Lagos. Based on this your comment here, there is no way Ndi-Igbo and Lagosians will not continue to fight. Lagosians are not ready to secede 30% of their state to your kinsmen. To make the matter worse, the location of the former FCT in Lagos is under the control of Oba of Lagos, the Idejos and Awori. And Oba of Lagos power is only limited to that area of Lagos Island (former FCT) only.
Haven't you asked yourself why Hausa are NOT obsessed with Lagos? Are you more Nigerian than them? Dangote, BUA, and many northerners have huge investment in Lagos. They pay more taxes than your entire 2x2 shops. Yet, they don't fight over Lagos. That's why these people effortlessly get free land and stuff in Lagos without any noise. They respect their host communities and never tag their host communities a "no man's land" or so called former FCT.
You are also currently causing similar issues for the people of Abuja. The question is: Are you the only tribe in the country? And for your information, Abuja has its own indigenous people too. The whole place wasn't empty before the FCT was moved there. 9JA government met people in their villages and towns before the place became our FCT. You even asked "how come again we have traditional rulers of Abuja?" Why won't they have traditional ruler? So, because Abuja is our FCT, the indigenous people of Abuja have no right to preserve their identity and tradition. If you can preserve your own identity and traditions in your region or state, they too have every right to preserve theirs. Why are you so bothered about the Abuja indigenes and what they do? I support them 100% for having a traditional ruler because if they failed to preserve their identity, their ancestral land will be tagged a no man's land. I don't feel threatened because Abuja is not my ancestral origin. You need to check yourself and ask yourself honest questions. Ask yourself why your tribe is the only one that fights everywhere. Your issue is: Igbos are the most dispersed in Nigeria. You LOVE to live outside your region. All the Yoruba and Hausa governors, senators, politicians always reside in their state or region. Igbo politicians are the only Nigerians who live outside their state or region. So, because you live in other regions, you are always looking for ways to abolish or remove people's identity in order to make their town yours as well. It can NEVER work.
Of course, I agree we are one family under the umbrella of one-Nigeria. However, we still have state of origin. We aren't like the USA. We are like the United Kingdom. We have our own Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England in Nigeria. No matter how you try, Lagos state is NOT different from Anambra state. Your former FCT tag does not hold water as long as state of origin remains. You and I can only wail online. State of origin remains.
Finally, if you think you can win against the indigenous people of Abuja in the future, you are making a big mistake. Hausa, Gwari, Fulani and Kanuri will team up with the indigenous people of Abuja to fight you. And I don't think you can win against such alliance. They are NOT like the Yorubas that accept anything. And I can bet it with anything, Yoruba and Edo will NEVER fight over Abuja because their western region is their favorite and enough for them.
Finally, my advice is, develop your region and mandate your politicians to live in your region after they live office. Obasanjo lives in Ogun state, IBB and Abdulsaleem reside in Niger. Former SW governors and senators all live in their SW states and region. Buhari has returned to Duara, Kastina. Former northern governors are in their respective states, None of them lives in Lagos. Yoruba past governors are not living in Abuja. Osoba lives in Ogun. Ladoja still lives in Oyo. Oyinlola lives in his village in Osun. ALL YOUR LEADERS CAN'T LIVE IN THEIR STATES OR REGION. AND THIS WHY YOU CONTINUE TO FIGHT INDIGENES IN THEIR NATURAL DOMAIN. THINK ABOUT THIS AND MANDATE YOUR LEADERS TO DEVELOP YOUR REGION INSTEAD OF MAKING OTHER PEOPLE'S REGION YOUR FAVORITE. YOU CAN NEVER WIN THIS FIGHT NO MATTER HOW YOU FIGHT. STATE OF ORIGIN REMAINS.
