I think this was my favourite layout at the exhibition. Simple track layout, uncluttered scenery and very atmospheric. The 'explanation' is that the Dawlish seawall has been breached by a storm and the alternative route is over Dartmoor.
Ah you must have gone on the Sunday, as Saturday was diesels on Moors view. It's a great layout very atmospheric and with a realistic track plan, not a single point on view. It takes a lot of courage to keep it simple. It was a decent show i enjoyed quite a few of the layouts.
You're right, I was there on the Sunday, so missed the diesels. I really liked that layout, simple but atmospheric. There were other good layouts at the show as well.
Excellent. Not too busy when I was there, lots more time to chat to people. Moors Views owner I talked too for about 20 minutes, Choates Lane had a few issues on saturday mornign but an enjoyable chat to the operators.
I was there on the Sunday and the Moors View operators were more than happy to chat. Choates Lane seemed to still have some problems on the Sunday but trains were running.
