You're the best driving instructor voice-over. You had me just laughing my butt off
I concur Sir ❤
laughed my ass off lmao
Tony I struggle with my mental health but your videos always help me see the lighter side of life and give me a good chuckle. My other half laughs her head off at your rather fabulous commentary too. Have a great weekend and keep up the good fight.
I agree...this channel is great entertainment... I laugh along with your better half...its a pity we have to tolerate some folk visiting Tony's channel just to put the man down and vilify him. Your post has made me feel good. Regards to you and your missus❤😊
You’re only supposed to stop at the bloody red light 🚲
6:21 "I've got a little bit of a short temper" has to be the understatement of the year.
What makes you say that 😂
Love the lesson dialogue - exactly how it should be. and by the way Sharron will never drive any better than that - ever.
OMG the driving instructor acting was so funny, I had a right good chuckle 😂.
Absolutely loving your videos, you sense of humour is spot on for me, so funny.
Thank you for providing my Friday afternoon entertainment Tony. Just goes to show that have no prejudice against Audis and BMWs. Crystal Balls!!! I’d bet you’d be a very entertaining driving instructor!!! 😂😂😂
Absolutely x
I love the conversation with "Sharon", pure comedy! Hope you and your viewers enjoy the weekend.
Same to you x
Tony don’t ever offer to help teach any of your younger family members how to drive, they’ll never speak to you again, trust me! 🙏
That driving instructor voiceover made me chuckle and reminded me of the Bob Newhart sketch (so funny)
It was at this point of my driving lesson that the instructor opened the door and jumped out....
I went to London 3 times this week, does my head in - so many eejits.
You are too nice to be a Driving Instructor mate. My Instructor (a woman) used to rap my knuckles (hard) if I attempted to change to neutral before I had applied the handbrake. I used to get my own back though. She had a habit of asking what was the road sign we have just passed. I used to reply "fresh farm eggs" ---- and I got another rap on the knuckles for my cheek.
My driving instructor (a retired policeman) also used to rap me on the nuckles for holding the steering wheel incorrectly. Believe it or not, I am eternally grateful to him.
Why, were you holding it with your feet?@@repr0bate1
'Sharon, FFS!' I utterly pissed myself at that segment - more of the same please.
Meanwhile, Sharon was clearly having a whale of a time - bet she can't wait for her weekly lesson, preparing her for life on the road.
Scary really.......😢
Speed limits shown on the ground are merely advisory (AFAIK) ... they are only mandatory if there are physical signs (or other obvious clues - like street lights in a built-up area meaning a 30 limit, in the absence of signage to the contrary).
I was in a 30 mph road near to where I live. I wasn't going very fast as I was taking a left hand turn. There was one of these speed detectors that flashed up your speed and I was doing 22 but I got an amber frowny face. I was slowing anyway to turn so I still got an amber 20 sign but at least a smiley face. Again this was a 30 zone. I know it was 30 because I was turning into a 20 road with 20 signs. So why if I was 8 mph under the speed limit did I get the frowny face?
'It's the final brain cell' song was hilarious.. hope to hear more of that. Then you had to up your game & turn a driving lesson into the funniest thing I've seen & heard for ages... more, more, more!
9:25 - those railings left side look like they're in dire need of replacing. That's insane.. all bent & buckled from many impacts, surely obstructing the footpath 🤦
Tony love your commentry and sayings on the videos, you're better than the comedians on tv
Consett North East ?..... good humour up there too ❤
Oh yeah
@@Andrewwhite-zt2zj
Please enlarge your brain before posting (enlarge, not engage) little sausage xx
That last one, eh? Where the BMW goes straight ahead in a lane marked straight ahead, then merges properly to continue straight ahead before the right turn only lane appears! Priceless! You couldn't write it!!
It's not the best road markings but it does say it's a right turn only lane as soon as you get across the lights which means is in the wrong lane it's not a merge in turn.
Was about to make that comment myself, but spotted yours. Nicely put !
Tony, I love your vids your outspoken and truthful as well as tongue in cheek funny. As a Driving Instructor, I would admit over the past few years I have seen some quite awful Instructors making some suspect decisions, sign of the times sadly. Just seeing your play on an Instructor was funny, enjoyed it. On a serious note, you don’t understand the process it’s a fine line teaching to Drive. Anyway keep up the good work, look forward to your next.
Proper Mini's, not that German shi*e they call a Mini nowadays
Tony, your instructor bit...I want to come to London and have you be my driving instructor...please??? And, yes, you can film both inside the car as well out your dashcams and use them!! You are hysterical!! Almost baptized my laptop with tea, mate!!!
Although not illegal to drive in a none mandatory cycle lane it is a good idea to stay in the designated lane. This however can be impossible on some roads especially for large vehicles. The difference between non mandatory and mandatory is the lane markings. Mandatory lanes have a solid white line and you can be fined for crossing it even if caught on dashcam footage.
A record! I spot the video 39 seconds after it appeared! :-)
The speed limit doesn't apply to cyclists but that does not mean they cannot be prosecuted. There is the odd offence of "wanton and furious cycling" which can be applied but normally only done when there is clear danger caused by the cycling.
"Wanton and furious cycling" hasn't been on the books for years. Current cycling offences under the Road Traffic Act 1988 - S28 reckless cycling, S29 cycling without due care and attention, S30 unfit through drugs or drink, S31 racing or speed trials (unauthorised) on the road, S32 use and or causing or permitting use of an electrically assisted pedal cycle by a person under 14 years old
Depends if you think that being a statute law since 1861 is 'years'!! I say that sarcastically because it is the Offences Against a Person Act 1861 that was used to recebtly prosecute a cyclist that caused the death of a pedestrian.
@@scienceexperimentsforhomee261 You do realise that the Offences Against the Person Act S35 is not about cycling but about causing injury by the "wanton or furious driving" of any vehicle. What application would that have to speeding on a bicycle without causing injury, the subject in question? None, that's what. Hence the mention of the S29 and S30 RTA offences, which would be chargeable. You're a typical pedant, someone who doesn't understand that "correct" has to also be *_useful_* rather than a mere prop to the pedant's ego.
@@ianmason.
Wasting your time Ian. He's a right negative nancy boy. Only on here to do people down.
Regarding signage... in Cinderford, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire... Steam Mills Road is 40mph. Eastbound, 40 is stencilled on the road, at exactly the same spot, but on the west bound side, 30 is stencilled on the road..
5:55 I’ll make an interesting point here: Rule H2 introduced a new rule that everyone knows “you should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning.” Then it codifies some things that people were doing anyway like giving way to people waiting at a zebra crossing. But at the end it says “Pedestrians may use any part of the road and use cycle tracks as well as the pavement, unless there are signs prohibiting pedestrians.”
Now that sentence carries as much legal weight as the one about pedestrians crossing the road which we’ve all adopted. Shouldn’t we be saying if he wants to casually walk across the road slowly, stand in it even, that’s his right under H2?!? As long as it’s not a motorway.
You won't be the first and neither the last to point this out to LDC. According to him, pedestrians are only allowed to cross the road where he allows them to. If they don't, then he will sometimes drive his car towards them as an admonishment. He really hasn't got to grips with the revision of Highway Code that brought in thses rules that provided the hierarchy of greater ability of the car driver to do damage to pedestrian and thus the car driver has the greater responsibility to avoid incidents.
There is also the preamble to the general rules 103-158. "The rules in The Highway Code do not give you the right of way in any circumstance, but they advise when you should give way to others. Always give way if it can help avoid an incident. " If LDC could follow this advice, then his driving would be top notch. As he doesn't, then his driving is above average.
The “Pedestrians may use any part of the road and use cycle tracks as well as the pavement, unless there are signs prohibiting pedestrians.” wasn't anything new, it has always been that way, long before they wrote it into Rule H2. In prior editions of the Highway Code advice given was as a general rule to keep close to the edge of the road or in a position where you are most likely to be seen, also during hours of darkness to walk facing oncoming traffic. Personally I think they wrote that in to emphasise the point to other road users who have the attitude that the road belongs to them.
@@iwb316 But why isn’t it gospel? If there’s a pedestrian in the road on a video channel you don’t see anyone saying, “well rule H2 says they are allowed to be there as long as they want”.
The Green Cross Code “if traffic is coming, let it pass” contradicts being allowed to walk across junctions in front of traffic just as much as it and other bits contradict a blanket right to walk down the middle of the road!
8:10 the driving instructor section, i was talking my meds with coffee when you was saying it and i nearly spit them all out, i was trying my hardest not to laugh out loud. got tears in my eyes... loved it
There's a recent public notice about the speed limit change in Cheam so it may not be in force yet, they can't paint every 20 on the road and change every continuation sign to 20 at the same time, they take a couple of weeks to do all of them.
Thanks for the giggles I loved the driving instructor bit now that was funny. Keep it up. I do enjoy watching... ❤
4.45... press button, wait a while, nothing happening, start crossing just as the lights turn green. If it's any consolation it happens every time in my home town of Rotherham.
More driving instructor voice-overs please, that was hilarious.
Cyclists need to be identifiable on the road, and they should have to go through everything that car drivers do! Proficiency tests, insurance, vehicle registrations, etc etc
Speed limits on public roads actually don't apply to cyclists. (They do in Richmond Park, but that's by special order.)
To require a cyclist to stick to a certain speed limit means that by law we should have a speedometer, which we aren't required to. I can only sense what speed I'm going. Anyway, it's rare for cyclists to go more than 25 in 20 zones, whilst some drivers routinely go more than 30.
Sense and Cyclist in the same post....how weird is that (its rhetorical, no reply needed from the 'men in tights')
@@suziforester I might be a woman in tights.
@@edj4833
You may be...so which are you ?
I suppose if you think about your average cyclist wont be doing more than 30 so when the minimum speed limit was 30 not a lot or point applying it to bikes. How ever now the minimum is 20 then bikes should be expected to go at 20, the 20 speed limit is after all for safety reasons. A bike hitting a pedestrian at 30 can still kill the pedestrian.
Man you crack me up so funny with the driving instructor keep up the great work 😂
Film fact.... The doors were blown off at Crystal Palace Park - you can see the BBC TV mast in the background
You really understand why so many accidents happen
You can use the bike lane if there's no Cyclists in them, because it's a broken line, sometimes you need the space to allow a wider vehicle to pass.
She didn't need the extra space so she shouldn't need to be in the bike lane and it's very bad practice for a learner to be doing that.
Thats the best driving instruction i have heard in ages, it cracked me up 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Here in the USA we do have school zones in many states where the speed is reduced from whatever generally 30mph to 20mph but while students are present, so even during school hours if there are no students present on/by the roadway then it's the normal speed limit. Many times now the school zone is indicted by signage with a yellow flashing light which is generally in operation when it is the time for arrival and dismissal.
We are finally having more properly designed roundabouts installed instead of dangerous four way intersections of roadways both with 45mph speed limits which would result in a 90mph collision were two vehicles to collide at speed, and there have been many fatalities at these unseemly dangerous 4 way intersections due to people blowing the stop signs either on purpose or by accident.
We have very dangerous highway infrastructure where entrances precede exits on the same on/off ramp which means people entering the highway needing to speed up need to cross with people exiting needing to slow down, instead of the highway exit ramp being well before the entrance ramp, it's so dangerous and it's all because it's the cheapest way to design a highway interchange.
Thankfully we are starting to get more diverging diamond interchanges which bring our traffic from traveling on the right side to being on the left side before crossing back to the right so that it's safer and more efficient for all vehicles wishing to enter or exit the highway from all directions.
Love the content showing the bad drivers across the pond, cheers mate.
They don't drive very safely in those movies. But... No one's on the blower going up and down those steps in them Minis so some small wins.
Your driving lesson really made me laugh, And you don't sound like either Michael Cain or Victor Meldrew
I've a meeting being arranged with a Superintendent of the Met. I suspect he will agree to it. If not he gets a complaint that he loses. Since it was my MP who contacted him in the first place, it doesn't look good to state something to an MP then not do it. I won't be fobbed off with a PC with no power to act.
I've just also had a chat with a bloke at a bus stop. He says he pushes the cyclists on the pavement out of the way.
I felt little sorry for Sharon. She was doing her best but her phone kept pinging with messages she had to read.
Cyclists never bother with rules they've no right to the pavement unless blue and white sign is hanging somewhere in the fresh air
You're right, you would be a horrible instructor 😅😂
11:51 I wouldn’t be able to drive if you were my instructor cos I’d be crying with laughter 😂 you was hilarious 😂. Great videos ❤
before this blanket 20mph we had wales 20mph zones where the signs flash when school is open ie during schoolday only
You're more like Alf Garnett😂
You need a flashing light system during school hours like we have in Australia. If I was a driving instructor dealing with Sharon, I would be using much stronger language than you used. I think brain cells are on back order all over the world judging from the dashcam videos I watched from around the world. Cheers mate and keep up the good work.
I just love Ur videos you make me piss myself with laughter the way you commentate it's brilliant thanks for the laughter.
0:30 the speed limit doesn't apply to the cyclist at all, so no need to get your knickers in a twist
9:54 the 2 lanes at the lights merge into one, before opening back up to 2 for the roundabout, the van in front of the BMW does exactly the same, both do nothing wrong
love this man haha awesome driving instructor
You are proper driving instructor. All BMW, Audi drivers need to send for retest. And you are examinator. I can guarantee they will fail 99.99% because of stupidity.
Timestamp: 8:33 - Not only will “Sharon” pass her drivers exam, she will most likely become a “professional driver!” 🫣 Poor Tony! Thanks for the laughs from this one today!
5:24 That is not a bike lane. That's a gutter! Surely.
A line in the road so that the council responsible can can claim to have installed so many miles of bike lanes in their stats.
Top drawer entertainment on this channel...brilliant Tony. Thank you again x❤
9:00 the infamous Epsom no entry - I suspect SatNav might be to blame. Where I used to live, drivers were constantly trying to enter the campus via a pedestrian entrance🐑
The annual London to Brighton Mini run is alas no longer, thanks partly to ULEZ. Not a lot of people know that...
1:50 Where it said 30mph and 20mph,I checked with tfl and they said the speed limit on cheam rd there is 20mph so dont get caught out .
I'm gonna go over there and open a body shop. Narrow streets with parking on both sides. Driving like there in Mobile Al.
I beat you I got 8 seconds..
Mate I told you I was driving from the Highlands to London area, I’m in Watford, all we really get is corner cutting cretins or berks in Mercedes, and the obligatory Audi , I’ve been insulated, there are no road rules anymore. Driving whilst past Preston is a complete nightmare, you need eyes all round your head to see what the muppets are going to do, I’ll not be in the south again and I’m a London boy. We are safer on single track here than the wide roads you have, that’s the reason most HGV drivers are leaving in their droves I did it 4 years ago not worked since and I’ve never looked back, dreading my first 250 miles home
I think the floor speed markings are overridden by the signs
Hi I'm Sharon any chance of a driving lesson, only if you use your best language. Love the commentary aswell as the content. 😂😂
Sharon you can't get round me like that anyway I thought I told you to get the bus 😂😂
I'd say you were a perfect fit for an Advanced Driving course, Tony!
Already done it
Congratulations Sir ❤

Re Vol313 at 00:50 the right turn lane. The Design Manual for Roads & Bridges stipulates a central right turn lane should be a minimum 3.50m wide, that lane was barely 2.00m. I fully appreciate why drivers don't use it, as it risks damage to the left from idiots trying to pass too close🫣
2:25 The London to Brighton Mini run is cancelled for 2024 and may not happen again. End of an era
That's a shame 😔
Old cars .. London to Brighton .. I thought you were going to say "Genevieve".
SCAMMER: In the driving test you told Sharon to go straight across, and, after she did, you chastised her, but you should have said 'take the second exit'.
9:56 To be fair, as I don't know that area, I would have seen the straight ahead lane and thought that would be ok, not realising that that lane would then become right turn for the roundabout. Not saying the BMW wasn't from the area and would have been as unknowing as myself, but there will always be people new to any area who will not be familiar with local roads.
The road markings are not great, but as soon as you go past the lights you're in the wrong lane if you're in lane two and you know when someone knows the area or doesn't know the area from the way they drive he knew exactly what he was doing.
Cor blimey gov….is you from London be chance….😂🤣😂🤣😂 love your videos and your occasional trips to coast live …. Keep up the good work….👍
Id love some refresher lessons
Speed limits actually don't apply to cyclists on public roads. There are exceptions such as Richmond park which has speed limits by bylaw.
They do apply to all motor vehicles though, and that includes electric bikes. As well as that, cycling above the speed limit would definitely be cause for dangerous or careless cycling, in the same way that a car driving at 60mph in a 60mph road when it's icy and full of cyclists or pedestrians would be prosecuted for dangerous driving despite not exceeding the limit. If traffic is restricted to 30mph in built up areas because of the risk to pedestrians, cyclists flying through above that speed would definitely be considered careless under the law.
One of the funniest videos I have seen 😅😅
Please do some more 'instructor' voiceovers. Had me howling! 😂 I've got a few videos to send over to you soon, including an Audi driver getting pulled by the police!! "Always an Audi!!" 😉
Another 'Caineism' "Remember, in this country they drive on the wrong side of the road"! 😁
Speed limits only apply to motorised vehicles. The cyclist isn’t “speeding”. The speed limit doesn’t apply to bikes
Which has the shortest stopping distance from 30 mph, the bike or car. My money is on the car. But the cyclist wouldn't stop anyway if a kid ran into the road.

Went to London once in a car. Never again. People just going anywhere they wanted on roundabouts, including one going backwards. Multiple red light runs, with several at the same red light in the span of seconds. Many people failing to get out of the way of an Ambulance with those not-as-dim-as-them blue lights and the noisy nee-naws. Pedestrians just stepping out everywhere, even on dual carriageways and motorways where there should never even be pedestrians - half the time they don't even look either..
Yeah.. I'm never going to London again in a motorvehicle. I like my sanity, thank you.
What about the fence outside "The Brewery Inn" how many times has that seen a car or van?🖖
I think you could become a driving instructor, maybe add a couple of disclaimers.
You could also use a yellow Audi and be called Tony's Impeccable Tuition Services.
Slogans could be: "Honest, Educational, Realistic" or "teaching Beginners, making Improvements, encouraging Gratitude"
As an ex cyclist I have to defend the speeding aspect of the guy in your bit in Cheam. Yes, if they hit a pedestrian at speed they can still hurt thrm, but being a lot smaller than a car they can go around pedestrians a lot easier. Besides, this is about the only time they can speed when it is a 20mph zone. Why didn't you compliment the group of cyclists for not blocking the road up!! You jump on them quick enough when they are 2 abreast, that lot were in a line & you're still unhappy, Victor!
Best post of this video...AN EX CYCLIST. Another one off the roads. Yeah x

Councils shouldn't over restrict traffic speeds. It's the driver's job to decide what is the safe speed, for him, in the situation.

I know you think you're being sarcastic when you say none of the other road rules apply to cyclists but in the case of speed limits, they do not apply to cyclists, only to motor vehicles, so that cyclist is overtaking legally.

9:53 I think the BMW has something dodgy on the plate so it’s blurry on the camera?
