  • At the beginning of the year, the Host City Insignia Exchange always takes place. During this key exchange, which most often coincides with "the Semi-Final Allocation Draw," the mayor of that year's host city receives the Host City Insignia from the hands of the mayor of the previous host city. This is a trophy in the form of a large key ring to which each host city can attach their city key or other symbol for the city.
Each year the organizing country makes a key for the winning country. Through a design contest for students of the Arts & Crafts program, Rotterdam added a beautiful city key to the large traditional key ring of the Eurovision Song Contest. To safely transport the ever-growing key bunch, Host City Rotterdam also had a special flight case designed that arrived in Turin this week with all the keys.
From now on, the keys can be transported in this beautiful case. The keys are well protected by cushions made from the city dress materials that decorated the entire city of Rotterdam during the song contest in 2021. Studio Vollaerszwart created the design of the citydressing. Denting Custom Flightcases manufactured the crate and covered it on the inside with sailcloth from the song festival. Who knows where the case will end up in the coming years!
