This is sort of how I always play sport games. Never really liked the career modes, but rather always played franchise like I’m creating my own career 👍
I think If 2k wants to keep the my career how it is then they need to have an option to play a classic my career experience where you can’t buy vc. And they’ll do it like madden where you can choose if you want to be considered a high draft pick or a low draft pick or undrafted. That will be how the game decides what overall you start with. So for example if you pick you want to be a high draft pick then the game will start you at like 73-75 and if you want to be undrafted the game will start you at like 60-63. From there you just grind a play. That keeps the online geeks happy and they can buy all the VC they want and the guys that just want a fun free experience can do that as well.
Yeah very true, they can do so many small things like this to improve our overall experience but the sad truth is they just won't. Unfortunate for us

also let you play the game indefinitely, so allow us to play the my career and increase our stats with or without the 2k servers
They should make one where it's lifetime play, so all the skills you just used weeks of your life obtaining don't get flushed down the toilet
To add to it, your at standard XP as a first round pick, then doubles as a last round pick and triples as undrafted
I do this too. I started my player at an 80 overall, set his potential to 99, set peak start to 25 and peak end to 36. He gets better and develops on his own as time goes by.
I've always liked franchise modes far better than a mycareer. I don't wanna be one guy, I wanna create a TEAM

The crazy thing is I just grab this since it was free for ps plus and I ask my nephews how do I play my career and he had me running around in the park.. I’ve always done it the way you showed in the video thanks for the reminder..
I've been doing this since 2k20 lol my era just enhanced it. I put myself in the 09 draft class (which is the first year of eligibility for my graduating class) and take it from there lol
Been playing this on the kobe era, I'm on the blazers. This is the most fun I've had on 2k in a long time

Man .... I done downloaded 2K23 like 8 times since buying it because of the career being so horrific with side stories and quests. I just wanna hoop!!! MyNBA has been my mode of choice for years..nack when it was called MyGM or franchise / association mode. I personally like to rebuild the team and build a team around a draft pick I get. Online Association mynba is good when you have the right people

You used to be able to do this in 2k13 I think where you could actually do it as a mycareer mode and didn’t need to do it in myleague

I only played this mode with a career in each Era. I didn’t even make a online build this year. Plus playing with import export DNA is fun to make comp too. This the first 2k where I didn’t do my career.
It might be my last 2k playing MyCareer. Just horrible. I’m not sure how much I’ll play next year if the shooting isn’t fixed

The freedom the sliders it’s much simpler be a 60 ovr or 99 park is overrated if you’re not going to be elite there’s no point unless you play with your friends this has always been the best option I play in the bird era my league my gm my NBA Has always been underrated

I’ve been doing this 2k15! The thought of starting a new my career year after year is exhausting and a blatant robbery!!!!
Being able to BUY XP is an inherently broken system. It incentives them to make it more annoying and tedious to level up and it shows with how much VC it really takes to max a player this game compared to even just 2k22

2k does make u grind on the side quests and all but if you do that and play on HOF difficulty you can get close to earning 2k a game in vc so what I do is use the first guy I made to grind vc and use that to upgrade anyone else I make after that and you can request a trade if you go to the my career tab and click on your stats or something like that u can find another tab to request a trade and also request players to get on your team maybe not right away but it’s a much more effective way
to get your 2nd 3rd or however many players you got up to a decent overall without having to do all the grinding all over

My teammates and me are just as good on hall off fame. I go on the bench and the lead gets bigger.
Even with the double , team offensive boost takeover if you dot them wide open behind the 3 point line WIDE OPEN! They still miss that shit is soooooo trash and I pray to god on everything that they change that next year ….

Im giving this ago in 2k24. im enjoying gameplay but the vc grind is a bit too steep.

Not gonna lie this way is fun to play with your myplayer vs friends and theirs.
They really need to allow you to import your mycareer player build into the mynba mode instead if having ti make a new character.
I don’t mind certain quests that are basketball related but all that other shit is definitely annoying af

They should have the mycareer be an offline experience instead of online. The fact they made it online shows they just want money for you to be able to upgrade yo guy in the slightest
Is it just me or everytime after timeout over thay keep on show the beach player and coach when you in middle of the game timeout do y'all ever have that happen to y'all in mynba because it happened on me on 2k22 and 2k23 on ps5 and it so annoying for real 🤦🏽♂️

There’s no team mate grade but you can press up on the d pad to have your stats and badges show

Me, personally, I enjoy MyCareer and the grind. I strictly only play the games and not the park. I don’t buy VC either. By all Star weekend, my player is a 80 overall or better. It’s not bad like people make it seem.

This is how my bro and I played every single 2K except 2K16. The MyPlayer/MyCareer is just too much. Money got more involved and fudged it all up smh. I’m all for kids enjoying the game!! But there focus is more on the things you virtually buy rather the game’s improvement and creativity. Rather “The City”…We cud be ballin on actual street courts and earning rewards and so on. IMO.

yes and they are free! once you create your character and save though it wont let you edit tattoos again

No you can change them by going to roster and edit player

Yes. Just go to the new team and control the team then select your player as player locked
