I just realized something. The Legion of Stationary act the opposite of their real life version. Colored Pencils can help kids make their worlds colorful, yet it acts like a pretentious hipster artist, blaming other for failing, disliking popular thing because they are popular, and liking the old things because they’re “retro”. He’s seeing the world in black and white. When Mario ruins his case, it shows what he is; a jaded washout. Rubber Bands help keep things together, yet the one in game throw himself around like a little sister. He’s self centered, to the point of being literally self-destructive. When he runs out of Bands because of his tactics, he blames Mario, not himself. He’s an actor who’s view of himself is so big, it could push out the air in a room. Him being shot out says he’s a entitled brat, and doesn’t deserve any respect. Hole Punchers make holes to make things orderly and neat, yet he’s frantic, never wanting to stop partying, and is so angry when no one wants to that he stole faces to make them dance. He’s a spotlight wanter, stealing the sun to party, and hiding till Mario gets him out. Mario ripping out his back is basically saying he’s spineless. Tape helps kids display things on walls, yet he’s shady, covers up things that are important, and is a stereotypical mafioso. Him sticking up Toads to the tower is like “sleeping with the fishes”. His tape being wrung out is his acts being found, and his torn down by the public. Scissors help create art, yet the in game on wants to destroy. He takes great pleasure in doing so, and is so much of a sadist that he desecrates the Bowser army’s faces for a pointless mini boss. He died without saying a word, because his sadistic pleasures destroyed him so much that he couldn’t speak. Staplers are the staple (ha) of office supplies, which are known to be orderly, yet here’s this thing. He’s a rabid dog, biting and attacking anything just because. His mouth being broken is Mario shooting the dog, to stop others from suffering. Edit: Glad to see people like this. I added some more.

While I do agree about the brutal back snap at 13:04, just remember, we have Super Paper Mario. That game is all about death and darkness. At one point you even visit hell and the equivalent of the River Twigz! If you think about it, the staplers death is pretty normal. Let that sink in.

Neighbor: DUDE WHAT THE FRICK
@FOE 10 FOE 10: "Not funny" ALso FOE 10: *laughing emojis*
The Legion of Stationary is basically Paredolia: The Bosses and I'm all about it. When you think about it, origami is all about implementing pareidolia into craft. The piece of paper that you fold into a rabbit obviously isn't a real rabbit, but your mind still wants to recognize it as one. This game is really well thought out.
Honestly I think would be scarier to face off against the staple remover. But this boss fight is still good
Why would a staple remover be scary to paper beings?
@@pierrenegron1507 If that thing can pierce skin, Im sure it could pierce paper
@@deviantgazer4626 but there's no thematic for it since it's used to remove staplers, not to harm paper
@@pierrenegron1507 Hmmm...true. Still, really great boss fight. All of the Legion of Stationary are pretty surprisingly good bosses
Inb4 Olly brings out a paper shredder to make Mario into a cape for himself leaving Olivia alone to take him on via vellumentals
So Bowser just had a staple stuck in him no wonder he was stuck like that
Well he's made of paper, what do you expect?
What did you just do to Olly's doggo
*You monster*
Damn, this game actually looks fun and neat to play. I'm a personal fan of strategy games, I'll probably get this when I can.
It’s not really a strategy game. It’s more of a puzzle game. But yeah this game is worth the buy.
Am I the only one who thinks that the legion of stationery is all of the thing cards from color splash ready for revenge?
I could listen to this music all day! 😎👌
That finisher was horrifying. Mario basically killed it by snapping it's jaw
1:07 those are definitely barks. They may be distorted, but they're barks.
Remeber when people thought that there were only going to be six bosses?
How did paper mario get me emotionally attached to stationary
As soon as Bowser turned back to normal again, I felt like hugging him.
13:03 Mario goes fucking Sicko mode
13:04 Play Dead Good Boy!
Easily my favorite fight. I love blocking his super move
While I do agree about the brutal back snap at 13:04, just remember, we have Super Paper Mario. That game is all about death and darkness. At one point you even visit hell and the equivalent of the River Twigz! If you think about it, the staplers death is pretty normal. Let that sink in.
Betcha TTYD fans are gonna get stuck on this for a little while.
Considering how TTYD fans are pretty good in setting up strategies like Peril and Danger Mario(& Partner), creating a TAS which speedruns the game in under 2 hours, I'm pretty sure they won't have much of a problem with this boss. It's the people like me who don't use their brains much who will struggle with this boss. Not the TTYD fans
VincentSM Tran TTYD fans wont even buy the game. Have you seen the reviews on the metaric page. It’s been given a 6.1 and most off the negative reviews are then just saying “it’s not TTYD” and “there’s no partners” proving they haven’t even played the game or watched any of it. It’s absolutely shambolic
@@Anonhaha122 64 fan here, have you seen anyone say "it's not paper mario 64" or anything like that so far?
SLuigiFan 147 yeah. Read the metric scores. If you read the negative ones all they say are “it’s not TTYD” and “it’s not paper mario 64” and “I hate it” they’re spamming hate on it in hope that Nintendo remakes TTYD. The TTYD fans are so toxic. It’s not all of them obviously but it’s the majority off them.
@@Anonhaha122 man I really hate that part of the ttyd fanbase because it portrays the more open minded and calmer part of the first games in a bad light
Mario:oh look olly attacket me with a animal proteckting him cause dogs do that.........
Mario:LETS BREAKE HIS JAWS AND BRUADALY KILLING IT
me:😲
Nintendo:fOlLoW mArIo On HiS mOsT hIlArIuS aDvEnTuRe
Mario’s health when the stapler uses bite barrage: *Aight imma head out*
The wierd metal barks in the intro are a nice touch
Everyone’s talking about that finisher move, but nobody’s talking about that sick music! I’ve listened to it for at least 10 times, it slaps!
I love the music for this fight.
Brutally Cruel. Satisfying,,👍
Me while fighting Rubber Band Boss: Whats next, a Stapler fight?
Me seeing this for the first time: *_I WAS JOKING._*
also i’m gonna make this same joke on other videos i see this because why not oof
"Untag Wag" seems kinda new to me...
jesus christ that 1000 fold arms finisher
That head bopping music doe
Someone explain to me how mario holds his hammer. He’s made of paper and his hammer is 3D. I call bullshit on that.
He wraps his 2D hands around it.
Are you seriously trying to find logic in a game where a paper plumber is violently breaking a stapler's neck, all that as part of its quest to free his country from origamis ?
Welcome to the Mario series, where logic is virtually non-existent
Would the fan be the betrayer of the legion of stationary considering its an office supply and helped mario in the adventure?
Is the fan even apart of it?
I don't think fans count as office supply.
Best strategy for stapler: stay far away and jump on it from a distance so it wastes staples, then grab the thousand fold arms and go to town. Repeat for about 3 times
People: I don't wanna get a dog anymore, they can bite me and pin me to the ground!
Me: This is just a game you fools.
@Bobby Afework yes I am quite mad I wasn't included and see this as quite rude
Stapler: Bite Barrage
HP: alright ima head out.
When it whined after defeating it, I had a little twinge of guilt down below.
I still can’t understand how this boss was easier than rubber band when I was re-fighting them
It seems this boss fight is Nintendo acknowledging the "Mario is cruel to animals" meme and making it semi-canon.
I guess its bite is worse than its bark
Game: Rated E for everyone
Mario: Proceeds to dislocate Olly's guard dog (stapler) jaw.
It is me, or Stappler is the only boss of the legion of stationary that cannot talk?
It's fitting and has dog like qualities as Olly's pet.
@@ssbk65 And his pet has now fricking died
@@choboy46 Mario just dislocated the poor dog's jaw too 13:04
KInda brutal tbh
I think it’s you
At 13:21 if you listen closely, you can also hear the thing whining before it explodes.
Cause y'know, it's not like we just snapped this thing's jaw backwards a few seconds ago or anything
Geez, getting hit by these attacks looks genuinely painful...
The best way to empty the stapler is to jump on it, not hit it with the hammer.
the music from this game is phenomenal wtf
This thing has a pet?
Destin Scott 2020 is NOT a thing, he’s name's Olly!
Comes to this video to see the back breaking finisher, and most of the comments are about it. Satisfied lol
13:04 that’s gotta hurt
I wanted to see a death where the staple like turns you into origami like the scissors
You're telling me that the stapler is a dog
I didn't know Rob Schnider was a Paper Mario boss!
BAD DOG.
Bro you killed his dog
9:26 is basically the equivalent of getting something new / expensive and not wanting to ruin it the first day
