The commentary was fine - informative, authoritative and clear. Jose Been gets a lot of unnecessary and unacceptable flak for daring to be (1) female and (2) non-English. Brian Smith has been there and done the lot.
I liked that finish design better. It created more opportunities. Strong on the last little slope, can possibly make it to the end. Wait a bit, can close it off possibly. Launch it from very far with a few strong guys, can possibly discourage the pure sprinters.
Can't see why people are complaining about the commentary (fine) rather than about the race itself. Does this yawn-fest ever have stages that end in anything other than these underwhelming bunch sprints?
Interesting point about the Castle of St Peter in Bodrum. Knights Hospitaller (Knights of St John) built it in the 15th century, desiring a stronghold on the continent while operating from their main base on the Isle of Rhodes, around 50 miles south. It now contains the Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Beautiful ancient site.
SIMPLY INCREDIBLE. Come on Eurosport, what's up with the clickbaiting lately? IT'S GETTING OUT OF HAND, UNBELIEVABLE!!! annoying. P.S. why is there an echo on the commentary?
Since everyone wants to comment on the commentators, they are really quite bad. She makes the elemental mistake of talking constantly rather than letting the race tell its own story, and her sidekick, when he gets a word in edgewise, doesn’t say much of importance. But worse, they don’t work together very well. She steps on him a lot. But mainly, she talks way, way too much. Just my two cents. 😂
Jose Breen does most of the commentary because she is the lead commentator. Brian Smith is there as co-commentator to provide background information and any insights into what might be going on, as he's an ex-pro. That's how it works on Eurosport.
“What a chaotic final!” Uh, no, really a chaotic call, ma’am. Fairly normal final but quite awful call. And again, she seems to walk on his commentary constantly. Then again, his commentary is vacuous. The race? It was a bike race with a sprint at the end. 😊
Chaotic TV feed for her to commentate on, more like. Flicking between helicopter and poorly-placed fixed cameras, making it hard to see when the line was coming up. Add to that the time splits and KM to go tickers have been all over the place all race and it's been a joke. None of this is her fault or even Eurosport's. It's on the host broadcaster. I think she's done a good job given the crap she's had to work with.
It's impossible to see what's going on as the tv coverage cuts from helicopter shots to close ups, then shots from in front of the bunch, then to shots from behind. Occasionally, the footage will even give way to an advert showing boats on the Mediterranean or some such. Unless the commentators are allowed to follow footage from one viewpoint, identifying the riders through their knowledge of what shoes/glasses/helmet they wear and details such as whether or not they wear mitts, or above and able to see the race numbers, it's impossible to see who is who. Compare the footage from this race to the expertly-put-together footage from ASO's races and there is no contest. And it's not helped by there being an awful lot of riders at this race who are not familiar to anyone. Many of them would be strangers to their own family.

That was an uphill finish?! These guys were flying!

I'm loving the pure chaos of the same leadout man two days in a row

Nice Commentators
Wow, crazy finish haha
I thought the commentary was way better today
That’s a low bar! Two of the worst commentators alive!
Non-stop, motor mouth, droning commentary is not a substitute for insight. Take a breath and think of something to say that adds value to the video.
Wow! The comments about our commentators are daft & sexist. Wow.
If people don't like a male commentator, are they sexist as well?
4:46 WTF are they doing in the back!
The TV footage was the issue, where's the finish line - there it is!

Much better than telling us the winner in the tittle 😂😂
WTH has happened to Cav? Not looking promising for the near future. Winning at TdF, IMO, most unlikely.
Was out for a while with illness and this is his first race back. Probably just gaining some form with Kanter in the leaders jersey
Cav is definitely out?
4:45 BH Burgos.... WTF?????????
lol what was that about. Leave the guy alone XD
Nothing wrong with these two commenters at all. It’s the race itself that’s not up to par
Philllllllll. Where are you?
I would rather listen to a commentary in a language I don't understand than endure this. Absolutely awful.
me too
that's some very useful constructive criticism. Could you be more vague?
finally, if you hate it so much, why are you here? ffs
@@peterdobos1606 Never said a word about "hate", just awful. Bit of an over reaction by yourself.
Hey, look, there is a mute button. You could use that.

The lady's voice is grating? Why does she do most of the commentating? Unfortunately there aren't a lot of other places to go to see the highlights.
I love her voice.
@@tobleramone I hate it. Like fingernails down a chalkboard.

She gets a bit hysterical, channelling Kirby? However, much better than a UK commentator I heard recently, who barely says anything at all!

male sport - male commentary please
There are plenty of bad male commentators. You can think the commentary was bad without being sexist about it.
🤦
