being new to EQ and enjoying Oakwynd, why would you even bother with open world raids when you can use the Agent of Change and not have to compete? Like, I get that open world was the only way for years, but why would you ever do it now? Does it give you any real benefit other than saying you beat such-and-such guild to it?
What oldrin said is right. You can do *both* the agent of change and open world. The agent of change you can only do once a week. The open world you can do every 1-2 days ish. So you get a lot more loot over time if you consistently do both. Also... doing a full AoC clear takes a lot more time rather than just doing a quick snipe in open world. Not to mention... competing in open world is largely what makes EQ fun.
It really isn't "beating" the guild as much as it has historically been on past TLP's. FTE is essentially a core of P99 emulation server players who thought BECAUSE of the first to engage that was programmed into the current EQ client it would give them some sort of pseudo "edge" and "allow" them to compete in open world content with grizzled TLP vets of the past 5-10 years. Turns out they are clueless to TLP EQ and it blatantly shows, its like a bunch of beer league kickball players who have played together for years destroying some 4th grade elementary school team kicking dingers while they struggle to kick the ball out of the infield and getting pelted in the face with balls--one of these days the punch drunkness and lazy attitude will allow the helmet children to finally score a point but these attempts are pathetic AF. But aside from the small dopamine hit for beating the short bus competition the loot is a big asset, everyone who wants a piece of dragon loot gets a piece of dragonloot (or 2 or 3) everyone who wants a full set of planar gear got it in the first 2 weeks. 8 Amulet of Necropotences, 9 White Dragonscale Cloaks, a dozen Cloak of Flames already and classic isn't even done. Nearly everyone has all their "tough" droppable epic pieces done thanks to the guild...the coffers of loot is brimming over BECAUSE of the open world targets.
