Thanks a lot! Really appreciated. In these adventures we are all winners by mustering the courage to take on that fight against ourselves. Stoked you enjoyed the film ! 🙏
This is probably the best UTMB self-documentary I've watched so far. All human emotions were captured so immaculately, the exhaustion, the struggle and the despair, it's far from the glory of what elite athletes can do but I can relate to every second of your journey as a normal being. Not to mention that the narration was beautifully written, I completely shed tears every time I heard the valuable life lesson you shared, indeed becoming is more important than just being. I believe it's not only a race, but it's more of a life-changing journey and I thank that you shared it with us. I wish you all the best for your new season abroad!
Thanks so much Andreas for taking the time to share your thoughts on this film. I am profoundly touched by your words. I’m really happy that you could appreciate the depth of the message I was trying to convey in this adventure. Thanks for following; more films to come on the life journey through epic adventures.
Thanks so much!! I’m stoked I could transmit what ai felt especially at the finish! It was such a powerful moment that brought tears to my eyes during the race 🥲
I was not expecting such a journey when I randomly clicked on your story, the philosophy of struggle, pain and achievement. Outstanding Raphael. I am 68 and thinking of a 50k only to top off my life of running. Congrats on a great race and film.
Thanks a lot Jon! Stoked you enjoyed the philosophical dimension of the journey. Beyond the running I find the spiritual and psychological dimensions super interesting. Good luck l with tour 50k! I’m sure you will crush it!! 🙌
Congratulations on completing the race 🎉 What a fantastic film Rafael! Your stories are so wonderful and so inspiring. Thank you for allowing me to share in your emotional world. Many greetings from Sweden, andy, trail runner.
Congratulations Rafael. I also ran in this race, and every so often when I'm sat at my desk, I like to look at videos from UTMB to remind me a the experience. Your video brought back some fantastic memories; thank you for sharing your story.
Thanks! I see I'm not the only one to be reminiscent about this incredible adventure! when I confront tough times in life I remind myself of this adventure and how I pushed through the difficult moments. We didn't meet during the race you were most certainly way ahead of me haha ;)
I have watched dozens of UTMB documentaries so far. Good ones indeed. Yours nevertheless stands out. The way how you take us with you on your endeavour is emotionally gripping. Your thoughts and feelings along the way, your reflection of the why, and the authenticity you share with us are touching. It says all about why we do and love ultrarunning that much. Keep going, Rafael, and thank you for that.

Oh man, I just finished the whole film. Kind of late to be honest, yet I did it. And I was having goosebumps for at least the final minute until you crossed the finish line. I'm 18 years old, and currently in the distances of 40 - 50kms. Last November I completed my first trail marathon and I felt as exactly as you did. Completing a dream that was there for too long. Now I'm hoping to continue training and some day go run in du Mont Blanc, Idk if 170km will fit me, but 100km seems not so impossible, and it is slowly becoming my new dream. I just wanted to write this, to tell you that I'm happy for your accomplishment, and that you really inspired me to continue pushing to create a new dream. That feeling of actually crushing your long desired goal, after many looses is just amazing. You might not read this, but thank you.

Excellent documentary man on the UTMB! Preparing myself for this years edition of the UTMB, you've just gave me a new level of stress with your cut-off-times :-)
As a father of 2 teenage daughters, you have explained exactly why we challenge ourselves to do crazy adventures! You have inspired me greatly - huge thanks! ❤
What a amazing documentary / Movie Rafael, By far the best UTMB video I’ve watched.. with the best ending, You have inspired me and so many another people to push there self, My journey starts for me! CCC is my goal, train and hopefully will the lottery.. Well done again and thanks for sharing your experience. Bravo!

Rafael, I have to say I wasn't expecting to last the full 97 mins when I clicked on your video, but I couldn't turn it off. It was epic! Congratulations on both your achievement in the race and your achievement with this documentary. 💪 👏
Thank you Rafael.. it was great video sharing. . For those "average " runners, who keep going for the last one / two hours(minutes )to finish line at Chamonix to watch. Bring back the memory, myself at UTMB 2023, sleepless night, rushing the COT, the pain on our feet.. . The crowd cheering.. That all worth it , in the life time. Managed to finished on 46.03hrs. 😅 You keep up the good work.. 👍👍
@@rafaelhidalgo somehow the film just takes you really deep into it. as watcher without knowing how the race will end, its cool to watch. For some reason whole first half i got the feeling that you never gonna make it, but then, all the sudden i started to see that you actually gonna finish and started to excite about the cut offs 😊💪
I'm a casual half marathon runner, and watching this got me inspired adn dream to make one of the major trails one day just for the experience of what you said in the video
This was cool to watch, very well put together! I'm currently training for a full Ironman and I have found myself watching endurance race documentaries during my long bike rides (when I do them indoor). Having done marathons, I have never had an interest in doing anything longer than that for running, but watching these and particularly this one, is inspiring! Well done and congrats on your accomplishment!
Thanks so much Eric! So stoked you were inspired! Keep on your hero journey and continue unfolding your own myth. The higher the aim the higher the positive emotion 🙌
This is the best UTMB video I have seen, I watched it in one go and you have done a great job describing how you felt throughout the race. Well done for videoing yourself when you must have been in pain and feeling exhausted. I was in Chamonix watching the finishers and I can see myself wearing yellow just before the finish arch. Well done on getting in to and finishing the UTMB and for taking and editing this great video!
The story telling, the video taking and editing and the whole journey thanks for taking the effort into documenting all the journey ❤😅, the courage to join the race and arriving to the start line is what amazes me about you and all participants in such race 😅😊
Congratulations, Rafael! 👍🏼 And merci beaucoup for sharing this experience with us. It was amazing and very inspiring to watch. Never thought about the stress right at the cut-off time. And you made it! How did you ever endure and push through two nights… huge respect for your mind and strength. Thank you for this great documentary! 👍🏼💪🏼🎉
thanks thanks thanks Raphel for this vibrant video, who comes at a very important moment of my life.
This was a great documentary! Congratulations on finishing the race and thank you for sharing your experience. My husband will be running the race at the end of the month and I will be crewing him. Watching your documentary (especially the perspectives from Sebastien) is definitely helpful.
I have loved your journey over the years I have been following and watching. I always find your ethos of showing your children about determination and hard work, where it can take you and to keep persevering. We don't all have the same goals and dreams but to have a good work ethic is key. A great reason and cause that you undertook the race for♥️! Looking forward to seeing what adventures you take on next👍
Thanks a lot Steve! 2023 will be difficult to beat but I will sure line up my fair share of pilgrimages in 2024. We always need a period to disconnect from the routine and reconnect with our true selves.
Incredible race and even more incredible video. You are talented and hard working guy. Hate to be long winded but maybe this will be a testament to your adventure and sharing with us and the power that has. I had a great season in 2023…2 marathons, a 50 miler, and a 50k but left me injured. I am now in the midst of doing the majority of my training at the gym on an elliptical. I am grateful to do that but it’s not the same. Today I grinded out my “long run” on the elliptical and your documentary was definitely bringing so much joy and encouragement. Thank you for this.
Thanks a lot Megan! Really appreciate your message! It warms my heart! Sorry to hear about your injury… hope it gets better soon so you can go back out there and crush it! Try and stay positive, not easy but do your best 🙌 sounds like you had a great 2023 season nevertheless 💪 thanks for following 🙏
Congratulations again Rafael, on the race and the video series very well made -- this was an excellent final chapter of your UTMB story. This brought some memories! I remember how you run by me on the way to Refugio Bonatti, you were on fire! We were roughly on the same timeline in the second half of the race, but I somehow never felt much fear of the cutoffs, maybe I was just too tired to worry about that 😅. Anyway, epic journey, and you were a great ambassador for your charity of choice. Are you planning any other interesting races? If you are ever in Boston, ping me, would love to catch up!
Thanks a lot Ilya! Haha yeah it’s true you were also close to the time barriers. I think i felt it because i left too late in coyrmayeur and they called the 15 min time. Then the girl in bertone… This year starting with desert rats 100k in april.

Excellent documentary man on the UTMB! Preparing myself for this years edition of the UTMB, you've just gave me a new level of stress with your cut-off-times :-)
Thanks Herman! Haha yeah the cut offs were tough for me but Im sure you will do great 🙌
As a father of 2 teenage daughters, you have explained exactly why we challenge ourselves to do crazy adventures! You have inspired me greatly - huge thanks! ❤
Thanks a lot David! Stoked you could relate to the story!! 🙏 continue inspiring your daughters!

Man, I enjoyed every second of your movie. True inspiration! One day I will watch it again when I will have big challenge ahead. And that will come pretty fast, because I signed up for Transvulcania and Val d'Aran by UTMB this year :)
Thanks so much! Stoked you enjoyed it! Good luck with your races !! Enjoy the ride!
Rafael, I have to say I wasn't expecting to last the full 97 mins when I clicked on your video, but I couldn't turn it off. It was epic! Congratulations on both your achievement in the race and your achievement with this documentary. 💪 👏
Thanks a lot Jim! 🙌 stoked you enjoyed it 🙏 was a heck if an adventure!
You keep up the good work.. 👍👍
Thanks a lot! Congrats to you for finishing! Our paths probably crossed at some point during the race! Bravo to you! And thanks for the support!
You are truly an inspiration Rafael.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
@@lefterisnydras4860 thanks so much for your kind words!!
Genuinely great storytelling! Properly detailed insight into this amazing race. Well done man.
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it! Took me longer to produce the film than to complete the race haha
Bro, its absolutely amazing what you did. And hats off for filming it out and sharing with us.
Thanks!! Stoked you enjoyed the ride! 🙏
this was just an awesome movie of utmb, best one so far, and ive watched many of em. gz for finishing!
Waw thanks so much! Really touching 🙏 there are so many great films on UTMB, I feel honored that this is your favorite!
@@anttil.13 fantastic! So happy i could convey these feelings! It’s not easy. Thanks so much for the feedback and support 🙏
I'm a casual half marathon runner, and watching this got me inspired adn dream to make one of the major trails one day just for the experience of what you said in the video
Thanks so much!! Stoked it inspired you! Its a great journey!
Crazy adventure and amazing video. Hands down the best utmb or other 100 miler documentary I've ever seen!
Thanks so much Bobby! Stoked you enjoyed it!
I wish I could live this experience in this lifetime. I am training for it ... I hope I will be able to do it one day
Never give up 💪
So beautifully narrated ! My dream race one day for sure !
@@ziadkassas1332 thanks a lot! Don’t stop dreaming about it. It will become reality! 🙌
Wow. So so so inspiring. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this with the world. This film will create dreams for others. Huge congrats
Thanks so much Danny! I truly hope it inspires others. Having a goal gives us direction and hope. Thanks for taking the time to watch 🙏
One of the best I’ve seen. You truly captured the emotions at the start of the race. Brought tears. Congratulations on your finish
Thanks so much!! Stoked you felt the emotions 🤗
You looked so fresh until 166 km. I was like, you dont even look tired, gogogo. Well done completing your goal.
Haha thanks! I definitely didn’t feel fresh as from chapieux I think it was 😂
The best utmb video I've ever watched. Good job, my friend.
Thanks so much!! 🤗
Thanks a lot Phil! Stoked you saw yourself at the finish line and stoked you enjoyed the film! I definitely poured my heart into it 🤗
🎉gréât atmosphère 😊
Yeah great people!!!
The story telling, the video taking and editing and the whole journey thanks for taking the effort into documenting all the journey ❤😅, the courage to join the race and arriving to the start line is what amazes me about you and all participants in such race 😅😊
Thanks so much! It sure was a heck of a job getting on the start line, completing the course and the film haha thanks for taking the time to watch 🙏
Thanks si much for your message and support! Yeah the second night was a grind! A beautiful adventure that transformed me. Thanks for following 🙏
thanks thanks thanks Raphel for this vibrant video, who comes at a very important moment of my life.
This was a great documentary! Congratulations on finishing the race and thank you for sharing your experience. My husband will be running the race at the end of the month and I will be crewing him. Watching your documentary (especially the perspectives from Sebastien) is definitely helpful.

Powerful stuff Rafael. Congratulations on so many levels, the race, the documentary, the journey - and all of the growth!!!
Thanks a lot Ben! Stoked you enjoyed! And really appreciate the support!
Thanks a lot Nicholas appreciate the kind words and your following 🤗
Great UTMB video and awesome you finished. Kudos to you for such mental strength. Bring on 2024!

Huge congratulations for such an amazing achievement.
Thanksso much!
Best one yet Rafa! Always motivates me to keep going in sport and in life. Cant wait to start Autumn season!!
@@alandolan7125 thanks a lot Alan! Keep up the great work in sport and life 🙌
Incredible!!! Thank you for this!!!
Thanks for watching!
Then the girl in bertone…
This year starting with desert rats 100k in april.
Sure feels different watching this video having just experienced it in real life. Thanks again for this video - helped a lot with preparation
