    Any leader that wants to effect the needed change in Nigeria must not only be visionary with a clear mission, the person must be VERY STUBBORN and FOCUS.
    Any meaningful change will be accompanied with fight and resistance even from those that will later benefit from the change.

As civil servants, they are expected to be non-partisan, so they are as a matter of exigencies, to submit to the agenda of any government in power, so all he was saying is that they respect the and will work for the success of the current administration's agenda nothing more he meant with his statement. If another administration comes in tomorrow, it's their responsibility to carry out the policies or agendas of the administration.

Wike will face the same thing as this, he is a minister with very limited power, he can be summoned by the national assembly to account for wrong doing if needed, but as a state governor, they almost have absolute power. That's why you see your Wike molesting and harassing people like a demi-god. This time, he just needs to glue himself to Tinubu so he can be a bit relevant.

When the time comes, he alone will bear the penalty for his insubbordination in words and conduct. It is going to be a waiting consequence. Umahi just resumed and is showing a first impression. Remember that a sizeable number of them got the job via nepotism and religious sentiment, who is the orchestrator of nepotism and religious bias? The government, then what do you expect from such a worker? Nigeria is a complete failed state, the workers see how bad the government of the day is, their welfare and other citizens welfare aren't important to the government, what do you expect from such workforce? The government has the worst attitude, they are soulless. In a sane world where workers and other citizens welfare is in line with economic realities with a functional law, you don't need to be told to behave well as a worker, please, do not blame the workers, if you do, you will be solving the problem from the middle instead of the root.

      @Iskander448 Год назад

      @@friendhecares3340 Umahi and his peers' past behaviour has left a lot to be desired. They have no clean hands. The impunity shown by the workers is the result of YEARS of bad behaviour shown by their bosses. How do you think many of Umahi's peers rose to where they are? There was a time when the civil service was revered but was a very long time ago. In those days, the workers would know that they had no moral standing for any bad behaviour. That was due to the standards that were set and MAINTAINED by their employers. Nowadays it is not the case. Many of those workers learned from their bosses who over time became assemblymen, senators and even governors. In other words, they were rewarded for their bad behaviour. Should they then be surprised when their subordinates push back especially when they have been poorly paid or treated?
      Two wrongs don't make a right but a leader has to show an example before he or she can make demands of the followers. Umahi's claim about the 15million was quite shameless. If he did right by his people, then you do not have to boast about bribing them with "his money". The man who challenged him was quite clear in his accusation. Where is the evidence that Umahi engaged his staff before this incident? When he does right by them THEN he can make demands. A person who is assured that he/she will be fairly treated if they put in the required work will be less likely to disobey rules. People need to pay attention to what is happening worldwide. Employment is not a one way street. Employers have obligations which they need fulfill before making demands of their employees. The strikes in other countries should serve as examples.

    That's the lackadaisical attitudes of federal civil servants in Nigeria, they see government business as no man business. How can a civil servants coming to work at such time & we are still expecting productivity.
