As a Canadian, I'm surprised Visas are required between us and Australia. Pretty amazing they were able to process your Visa in about an hour! ...and a belated Welcome to Montreal!
Hey Kym! The hôtel Le Germain facade was repainted a few years ago during the Montreal Mural festival. Lucky for you, the festival this year is going on right now during Grand Prix weekend! The festival allows for graffiti artists to paint whole buildings in unique graffiti art, and is around the St-Laurent metro area, pretty close to the hôtel. It could make for some interesting shots!
Welcome to Montreal ! I’m a big F1 fan since I was 12…. Now 53. French Canadian. Saw the years of Senna on the circuit, Prost, Mansell, Hill…. Etc….Hopefully our hospitality and welcome will enhance your work experience and visit. Yes Le Germain Hôtel has been totally overhauled and redone. Boutique Hôtel. Merci beaucoup et bienvenue à Montréal, Québec. This is where as you know our Canadian Senna…. Gilles Villeneuve, our F1 hero is still quite alive in our F1 hearts… Cheers. Have a great weekend amongst us. .
You are a lucky boy and I hope you enjoy your time in this lovely part of the world! It’s cool to have F1 back in our neck of the woods - I’m in northern Vermont.
Hello Kym, hope a gorgeous Sunday made up for the wet days. I was so shocked to see you walk past me and my family on Saturday ... it took me a second to call out your name but it was raining a lot and you and your camera were in some serious rain gear heading for shelter. (I was in general admission inside the track near the final chicane). Your videos always bring a smile (because you are always smiling?) and I appreciate your candor. Keep it up, you are inspiring many photographers out here!
Great video Kym 👍. Was in Baku many years ago (1999?) on business and can’t believe how everything has developed there both from watching the F1 GPs in the last two or three years and seeing your videos. The people are great. What struck me about your flights was how much the airlines have raised their game in the last few years. The product is getting better all the time- business class is now so much better than just an armchair and legroom.
The airport bus you rode on are usually called Mobile Lounges. Montreal had a bunch of them at the former international airport, Mirabel. But they saved a few for Dorval (Trudeau) airport when Mirabel closed to passengers. These were used at a few different airports around the world... I've ridden them in Montreal, Washington Dulles, Jeddah and Paris CDG. But I think that Montreal and Washington are the only remaining airports that use them.
Welcome to Canada Kym! Would love to be at the race. But alas, I am 5 hrs by plane to the west and busy farming. Been a fan of F1 for 30 years, only 1 race live (Hungary 2015). Enjoy your videos, and photography! Keep up the good work. PS. Try the poutine!
It’s wonderful how things work out at times. You paid almost double what your taxi fare would have been out of the goodness of your heart and in turn, your visa came through and you were able to catch your flight. I don’t believe in coincidences
Welcome Canada!! Kym make sure you get the Monster Girls in the fan zone there should be one named Joanie wish I could be there next year for sure. Have fun!!
BIENVENUE À MONTREAL Monsieur Kym. Please let us know if you need anything, will be a pleasure for any of your local fans (including me) to assist. Hope to catch you track side, look for the `kid` in the Big Red & White Canada hat - sitting front row Grandstand 11, section 4 (Senna Curve).
They’re slowly being phased out. Everyone not flying United has an underground walkway to the main terminal. Subway to downtown coming before year’s end, too!
Greetings from a fan of F1 and of your videos here on the westcoast of Canada. As some of the comments below, if you can, look for a meal at Au Pied du Cochon. I had a wonderful meal there over 10 years ago, ordered the fois gras sundae and duck in a can. Yes, they cook a duck and can it, then they open the can at tableside and out comes the hot fowl on your plate. Love your stories and how pleasant you sound even though you must have been stressed with getting on the flight and fighting with the taxi scammer in the previous video.
Really enjoying your travel clips but as a Canuck I am confused about your need for a Visa to go to Canada. I looked into this and Aussies don't need a Visa for up to 6 months of business or pleasure travel. Keep up the awesome work man: it is the only way I'll ever see business or first class on a flight!!
Loving the variety of content Kym, your editing capabilities is a joy to watch up there with the very best. Hope you enjoy Montreal and squeeze in a rest with all that travel 💪
Absolutely love keeping up an unfazed attitude to issues during traveling. In a sea of chaos you're the island of calmness. May be that's what makes a great photographer as well 😀.
Welcome to Montreal! It’s supposed to rain this Friday but nice for the weekend. Le Germain is a nice hotel. Hope you have a nice time here despite all the construction! Qatar Airways used to give pyjama for business class passengers, at least they did before Covid. I guess not anymore!
Welcome to Canada. Amazingly, I've never been to the airport in Montreal and I live in Toronto. When I go to Montreal I either drive or take the train. I could suggest some great restaurants but I'm sure some Montreal people will help you out. The track in Montreal is basically right in the middle of the city. What a great location! I 've been to maybe 10 races in Montreal back in the day in the late 80s and 90s and 1 in 2001. Aussies need VISAs for Canada? That's silly. I don't understand that. Anyways, enjoy!! The weather will be nice for the weekend. 20-23c.
Another cool video, I really like that you show us everything you get on the flight. I think you might of been on TV when Lando was doing the Sky pad for Sky Sports with Karun Chandhok bet not sure because the person was wearing bucket hat and trousers, no denim shorts lol, have a great week.
Hey Kym. Glad you got your visa at the last minute. When in doubt always wait till airlines close their check in counters before you leave if you ever have to deal with something similar again. Enjoy Canada!
Kym, make a reservation to eat at Garde Manger in old town, and do so quick before the res's fill up. You won't regret it. And say Hi to Chuck the Chef. The Dude can cook!
They have those same :Passenger Transfer Vehicle or Passenger Transport Vehicle (PTV) (mobile lounge) at Dulles Airport outside Washington DC. Damn thing is ugly.
Love these (and all your other) video's. I would like to know the prices for these luxury flights/different less luxury options, but you not mentioning them I suspect your not willing/possible to include that info. If willing/possible, I hope you some times wil/can include it. The luxury you receive make me think the extra price is more often worth it than not, especially for the long flights but also the extras like lounges etc.
Kym, the transporter from the plane to the airport in Montreal, is very similar to the moving lounges at the Washington Dulles Airport. Here is a link with some basic info on them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_lounge
In broad terms: Of all the airport reality videos I've seen I wish I wish people would understand preparation for their flight starts about 2 hours before the plane takes off. There is weather to consider, luggage check in, the weight and balance of the aircraft that needs calculating, catering and so much more. When a flight has closed it isn't that easy to get one last person on it.
Hi Kym, I’m looking to travel soon with my camera gear, I would love to see a video about how you pack your equipment when on flights and any advice you have would be useful too, it would be much appreciated.
Oh my goodness! Some of Charles bad luck might have rubbed off on you. He actually missed his flight. As an American, l don’t know much about commonwealth countries but l thought anyone can travel from one to another without a visa. Can someone explain this to me? Whoa that woman was so nice to escort you! I’ve had a few moments of running through airports and barely making my flights, but l can’t imagine traveling with filming equipment. I love food review videos! You always give us what we want to see. Of course food is one of the best parts of traveling.
Hello Kym thanks for all the videos , I'm sure you have a lot on your plate right now but a video explaining how you edit and work on your videos would be highly appreciated, thanks !
As a Canadian, I'm surprised Visas are required between us and Australia.
Pretty amazing they were able to process your Visa in about an hour!
...and a belated Welcome to Montreal!
welcom to my home KYM, i hope your enjoy your time to past here with us and good week-end at work, i see you on the track

Welcome to Montreal Kym! I hope to get a chance to see you this weekend. I'll be in Grandstand 1 all weekend.
Bienvenu a Montreal! I hope my fine city treats you well
You are a lucky boy and I hope you enjoy your time in this lovely part of the world! It’s cool to have F1 back in our neck of the woods - I’m in northern Vermont.
What a great looking flight that last one was. Esp the view over the Arctic. Awesome.
Welcome to Canada, Kym! ... Enjoy your weekend and looking forward to your Canadian GP episode! .... Loving all your content!
I'll be there saturday and sunday! I hope I see Kym at some point lol
Hello Kym, hope a gorgeous Sunday made up for the wet days. I'm getting on my Montreal flight in a few hours! cant wait!

Shame they're not so popular... would've been cool to see those derpy buses whizzing around airports
This was as gripping as the race itself! Love Qatar Airways. Enjoying your content and F1 coverage
Another world class video Kym. Thanks for sharing!
You are a patient man Kym..... Very calming considering all the drama. You must have been knackered.
Oh forgot to say. Canadian Grand Prix had got to be in the top six of the races on the calendar.
Great seeing these travel vlogs!
Welcome to Canada KYM ! Hope to bump in to you on Saturday or Sunday ! Keep up the good work !!
Welcome to my home, Montreal, Kym ! Looking forward to follow your trip to MTL and aass always your F1 content.
It’s wonderful how things work out at times. You paid almost double what your taxi fare would have been out of the goodness of your heart and in turn, your visa came through and you were able to catch your flight. I don’t believe in coincidences
Welcome back to our little country of Canada, Kym. Enjoy yourself in Montreal - one of my favourite cities, to be sure.
Great video ! Hope you’ll spend some great time in my favorite City 🇨🇦!
Welcome Canada!! Kym make sure you get the Monster Girls in the fan zone there should be one named Joanie wish I could be there next year for sure.
Have fun!!

Glad to have you in beautiful Canada !!!
Kym, they have those strange lifting/lowering busses at Washington's Dulles Airport too. At least they had them the last time I was there.
They’re slowly being phased out. Everyone not flying United has an underground walkway to the main terminal. Subway to downtown coming before year’s end, too!
I am glad they helped you to catch your flight.
Great vlog loved the trip content have a great and safe trip
Welcome to beautiful Montréal.
Welcome to Canada Kym. Always love the videos. First you've been in Canada since I started following. Hope you have a great week(end)!
Was here in 2017
There's a big Williams display frontage at the Hotel Humaniti, you should check it out. They're also at the Holt Renfrew Ogilvy with a showcar.
Omg, you've been to Bucharest. OMG. I hope you enjoyed the experience in my country, Romania.
Just your travel vids. Thank you so much
Unlike Charles who did miss his flight to Montreal 😂

5:00 "I'm a lucky boy" - KYM 😂...👌
Love your travel videos Kym! Keep up the great work! ❤️ From a very chilly Sydney, Straya!
Thank you for your videos
Thanks for the reminder regarding the prints - picked up 49/100. Really like Pierre - he did well in Baku. Looking forward to it!
Saw that! They are being framed and will be couriered next week by Pierre’s management.
@@KymIllman Awesome! Really excited - thank you for making this offer available- looking forward to see more in the future!

It’s not a visa, it’s a Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Great video again Kym!👍😎🇦🇺
always excellent video yet again
Hey kym, welcome to montreal, and have a a nice grand prix weekend!!! Good choice with hotel LE Germain, one of the best in montreal!!!
I remember the buses on stilts from Wash-DC = Dulles International Airport
Welcome to Canada Kym!🇨🇦
Welcome to Montreal! It’s supposed to rain this Friday but nice for the weekend. Le Germain is a nice hotel. Hope you have a nice time here despite all the construction!
Qatar Airways used to give pyjama for business class passengers, at least they did before Covid. I guess not anymore!
Got those but don’t wear them.

It is also silly that Canadian’s need a Visa to go to Australia. Like you I live in the 6 and also drive to Montreal.

Almost following Leclerc's footsteps
Thanks!
Another lovely travel video. Just wondering if you ever struggle with jetlag
See you on the track Kym!
Great effort
Was on the flight to YUL last month and got an ancient 2-2-2 777. Flying out of YUL it was QSuites.
Welcome to Montreal mate.
4:50 Propose us to refer to one of those as a VPS from now on.
Welcome Back to Canada Kym!!
Talk about a close call! See you in Montreal!
Hey Kym. Glad you got your visa at the last minute. When in doubt always wait till airlines close their check in counters before you leave if you ever have to deal with something similar again. Enjoy Canada!
Charles: *encounters trouble
Kym: NEW VIDEO ON THE WAY!
In future maybe name drop drivers you shared a plane ride with, or hotel floor. Would make for even more great content!
I'm exhausted just watching this
Kym, make a reservation to eat at Garde Manger in old town, and do so quick before the res's fill up. You won't regret it. And say Hi to Chuck the Chef. The Dude can cook!
The way you were seated on the Q suite is same as how I'm mostly seated on my jumpseat for take off ( flight attendant)
Montreal has the Washington Dulles people mover too? Interesting.
welcome to Canada!
They have those same :Passenger Transfer Vehicle or Passenger Transport Vehicle (PTV) (mobile lounge) at Dulles Airport outside Washington DC. Damn thing is ugly.
My only "reverse flying" was on RAF VC-10's!
Mexico City used to have those big busses that lock to the airplane
Bienvenue ! :)
Welcome to Canada Kym. You should try to get to Vancouver on day its beautiful.
Love these (and all your other) video's. I mean at least you did catch it... unlike Charles Leclerc who clearly cannot catch a break right now (or a flight, clearly😅)
Welcome to Canada Kym! I'm looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos from Montreal after what should be an awesome weekend.
I Must have been very close to the flight closing.
Hello Kym! At minute 3:45 is it Juan Fossaroli, an argentinian journalist? Cheers Kym! Great video!
Hi Kym, I’m looking to travel soon with my camera gear, I would love to see a video about how you pack your equipment when on flights and any advice you have would be useful too, it would be much appreciated.
You nearly did a Charles Leclerc as he missed his flight!
Ferrari curse nearly caught another victim. Luckily Kym is too fast
Great video :)
Oh my goodness! Some of Charles bad luck might have rubbed off on you. He actually missed his flight. As an American, l don’t know much about commonwealth countries but l thought anyone can travel from one to another without a visa. Can someone explain this to me? London taxis! cool
the best !!! 👍👍👍
Wow kym! Amazing content! I can’t wait till these air liners let you fly free or get free meals for all the content you make about them!!
Bring it on
great video - cant believe your baggage made it, having arrived so late (has never happened to me!)
Certainly happy it did
There it is Qatar Airways. Nice one
Charles actually missed his flight 🤣
Almost pulled a charles
Meanwhile Leclerc is watching your video at the airport haha
This video is liked by Pierre Gasly
I flew on the reverse seat of a qsuite the other day... it was really weird and I felt sick... not doing that again!
Hello Kym thanks for all the videos , I'm sure you have a lot on your plate right now but a video explaining how you edit and work on your videos would be highly appreciated, thanks !
Not sure it would be much of a video. There’s nothing special about the process, just shooting lots of vision and cutting out the boring bits
You might want to avoid scales for a while. At our age you will pay a terrible price
Another nice video. Curious, do you keep all you amenities kits (just because)?
I don’t. No room for them. Just take the fragrances.
Kym, will you stop by in Bucharest this year?
How did you start out in the photography business? I want to start working as a photographer photographing things but don't know where I could start.
What's the music/instrumentals at 4:08?
That base is fantastic.
Flying High by Sandro for memory
