The iPhone Xs Max was the plus-sized iPhone with the all-screen design from the iPhone X, and for a lot of people, it's going to be a terrific buy for the money on the used market in 2023. And so, if you're looking for value out of anything else, could this just be the phone for you?

First of all, happy new year everyone! This year, I'll be at university in a different city, so expect some changes to the scenery soon. Plus, because of all this I'm not sure what's going to happen to my upload schedule, but I'll definitely still try to upload as much as I can.
Your reviews are informative especially for those of us that just want a reliable phone. We sometimes forget not everyone is a cinematic director, or professional photographer. Call, text, browse, watch, is what most want out if a phone.

I just bought it for my 14 years daughter, 64 GB. almost like new 270 $. Absolutely stunning phone, beautiful in every possible way. Still outperform many midrange android 2023 phones without any doubt, and the camera is ... fantastic even now June 2023!

Yup, I’ve had this phone for 4 years and it still works smoothly. I just broke the screen but I’m willing to pay to repair it to keep it going for at least one more year.
Been using mine since day one (September 2018) still going strong!!
Got mine in Space Gray and oh man I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this phone, it still is a great phone and holds up very well in 2023 specially the build quality and even as someone who is coming from an iPhone X I’m amazed at how better the camera is, the only bummer tho is that it doesn’t have Night Mode
But aside from that it was VERY worth every penny spent for it! 👌🏻
spend 5$ and u can have neural cam which gives 99% similar night mode to iphone 11&12

Yeah only for the next year. I bought xs max in 2019 and now battery life sucks.. charging 3 times per day

This time last year, I upgraded from iPhone 7 to XS. Meanwhile, my kids went from iPhone X to the Alpine Green 13 Pro. Personally, I'm not a fan of the shape or weight of their phone.
I use a Rhinoshield Crashguard NX with a Popgrip on my XS. They look SO good, and the phone has stayed in my hand really well. Would recommend.
I'm very happy with all the XS features, and made a conscious decision to get it rather than the year before's X - the XR was never in the running for me, due to its lower specification.
Have to say, I'll probably stay with XS til Apple stop giving it the latest IOS.
I still have this phone and went back to using it over my 12 🙌🏾 loving this phone I'm definitely not getting rid of it

Thank you for a review that is aimed at the average consumer, and those of us that are not concerned about creating cinematic feature films, and could care less about keeping up with the Joneses. Most of us just want a reliable phone that will get security updates because let's be honest, the average consumer is not really going to use nor benefit from ios updates. We just want a phone, call, text, browse, watch. Most of us just don't need the fluff. And most of us have better things to spend our hard earned Benjamin franklin's on than a phone. We need more reviews geared towards the average consumer who are not bloggers, vloggers, or narcissistic influencers, just the average consumer that just needs a reliable device

It took some time to convince my mother to give up her iPhone 8+ but I bought her a refurbished XS Max and she loves it now. She really thought she wouldn't like the finger swipe gestures instead of a traditional home button but it's all good now.

The fact that it’s $300 for being a 5 year old phone says a lot. I had one when it came out but I have the iPhone 14 now. My gf needed a phone so she bought a refurbished Xs max and she loves it
I’m not presently using mine - have the iphone 13 now ….but like my XS Max better( I still have it & want to switch back). 😬. Have always kept a case on mine, but for me it’s the best looking phone. I have it in Gold.

I’m only considering the 15 Pro as I want to move on to a smaller phone. XS Max still handles anything I throw at it and mine has 85% battery health. Still on iOS 16 for the time being.
Also you can get the Smart Battery Case for more power

This phone has the last “wow” design in my opinion. Specifically the gold one.
Bought one iPhone XS for 220€ I would say pretty good deal with a new battery
Better of buying a 11 Pro or normal 11. I dont know what the prices in the uk or us but in Germany you can find 11 Pro from 300 to 400€ in good condition and the 11 is at 300€ in most cases. The XS and XS Max you can get for like 150 to 200€. Sold one of my XS 64gb at 160€ in perfect condition. If you have even more Budget get a iPhone 12 Pro or even a 13 Pro/ Pro Max. Got my 13 Pro Max for 690€, perfect condition and 90% Battery Life which lasts nearly 2 full days for me.
Just make sure before you get an iPhone, do it charge right, battery not jumps to like 80 to 20% which can indicate Logicboard Damage, have normal connection to mobile data, wifi working, bluetooth working and all the other stuff. Some People drop their Phones and so they Damage the Main/ Logicboard. Even if the Phone looks good it can break so many inside parts by dropping it.

The normal 11 has 1 upgraded spec, but it feels way cheaper, has a lower quality screen, and is an LCD.

It has 120hz response time but the frame are limited to 60hz for battery life

Gold iphone xs looks shiny
I reckon the iPhone XS Max will get at least another two years because the iPhone 8 iPhone 8+ and iPhone X will get another year of software updates because iOS 16 has been terrible. Set the iPhone 8 8+ iPhone X will be iOS 17. I reckon to fix all the bugs have iOS 16, entertain them off to a good with iOS 17, so the iPhone XS Max will probably go up to iOS 18 or 19

I've had mine for 4 years. 3D touch is the main reason and also it's easily Jailbroken.
Why cant i get the original earth xs wallpaper anymore ?
I think maybe because of the iOS 16 custom lockscreens
only issue would battery issues . Performance will be top notch for an old phone

The iPhone XS Max is still a very useable iPhone in 2023 4gb of RAM the A12 chip the latest iOS I wouldn’t be surprised if it receives iOS 18 and iOS 19 as its two last updates it’s more than capable of the two updates

The battery is terrible but I still miss it. I should've kept it but I traded it in for the 13 Pro Max at launch. Still rocking with it

I’ve only just switched from my black iPhone XS pro max to an iPhone 14 pro max and honestly I still prefer my XS pro max, feel sad to let go of it, absolutely brilliant phone. Am sad that I’ve got dead pixels on mine and that they’ve spread / are spreading, hoping the whole screen doesn’t die because it’s such a good phone

XS Max versus 11 Pro Max. Both are amazing phones with great customer satisfaction. 11 Pro Max has a few hours more battery life and better night camera shots. But the XS Max is still amazing and you can get it cheaper. My XS Max still has 82% battery life after 5 years and it has never had even one glitch. But that is what 11 Pro Max users also say. So it depends on cost and whether you take night shots but there are apps now where you can do night shots on the XS Max and you can find out how on RUclips. So it comes to a few hours of battery life and which color you like.
