"The finest miniature trains in the world." They've GOT to be kidding! Ain't NUTHIN' miniature about Standard Gauge! Thanks Leonard! Your videos continue to amaze!
I love that Ives station canopy. The Olympian locomotive has very nice proportions compared to the real locomotive, obviously foreshortened but the length of hood to cab is just right.
Standard Gauge is the precursor to today's "G" scale. 1930 was the year Lionel took over Ives Toy's. Also, Standard Gauge by 1939 would fall out of fashion in the year Hitler invaded Poland.
Magnificent selection as usual, any chance of further elaboration on the grand central station? Googling seems to only bring up the familiar glass dome variety. Was your example a dealer display or could anyone buy it? Or was it just an awesomely cool idea of yours? Tbh I've actually ended up preferring the old 403 set cars rather than the transcontinental/ blue comet. Theres something just a little more toy like. Love those Ives trucks...
Hello Thank you for your kind words I just enlarged the graphics of the 1930 Ives catalog and then built the rest extrapulating on the artist image there's still a lot more to finish but it is what it is right now
Really appreciate your huge colorful platform, and of course, these amazing Ives running
That's a very nice assortment of Standard Gauge trains you have.
What a beautiful set!
