    As a Visual Artist, iPad Pro is awesome and I have done all my video editing in Luma Fusion for years and it's easy compared to desktop software. RUclips Tech reviewers don't seem to look at all the Pro level apps that are available on the iPad Pro.

      I’ve also been using LumaFusion for a long time. I’ve tried Final Cut but I love how LumaFusion is so simple and makes professional looking videos at the same time

    You can not even safely remove USB drive from an IPad, At least a full version of Finder is needed in IPadOS. When you connect an external display to Ipad, it still shows ugly black bars on the connected monitor.

    • @ShotOnmyPhone
      @ShotOnmyPhone  3 месяца назад

      The black bars with the monitor support was fixed on the new pros. I think the m1 and m2 pros. But nothing before that. I tried it on my wife’s 2018 11 inch pro and it didn’t work. And I agree a full version of finder would be great

      Thia is so true. The external SSD doesn’t support any way to safely disconnect…

    You are correct. The biggest issue with people complaining is that the very specific program they want doesn't have an iPad App so it's the OS's fault. At first it was "there is no Final Cut or logic, we want those apps" . Then they got those app and they still complained. Nevermind the fact that there are audio and video editing programs available. People want the iPad to be a MacBook and it's just not possible.

      Thanks for the comment! I totally agree that if someone’s specific app isn’t on there their first reply is “give it Mac OS.” There are things that I think iPad OS needs though to make it better but not a totally new OS like people are saying…

      Love your profile pic @GarrusVakarian-to2uh. Whether it's possible to add Mac OS to iPad do you really think it's necessary? I think the iPad just needs some limitations removed and it'll be good to go

    • @ShotOnmyPhone
      @ShotOnmyPhone  3 месяца назад

      @GarrusVakarian-to2uh I completely agree. Apple is too afraid to give the iPad too much power thus lose MacBook sales. They want people to have both so if they gave iPad too much power they would lose iMac and MacBook sales

    • @ShotOnmyPhone

      @GarrusVakarian-to2uh I honestly had no clue about that. That’s really interesting about Microsoft getting sued but Apple and others getting away with it. It seems like it’s the norm nowadays. I really appreciate the info!

      I have iPad Pro m2 12.9 and I only use it with Magic Keyboard that I don’t feel it’s an iPad Pro but I want apple to put macOS or simi-macOS to the iPad that would be a full computer and so much better stage manager and the three buttons on the upper of the app should be similar to macOS because it’s too easy better than clicking the tree dots I hope apple will do that my thoughts that apple will just give the iPad a new design of the vision and AI but did you know about copilot or Gemini so it’s very low addings to the iPad

    I went from a late 2019 MacBook 💻 Pro 16in with it I’d specked. Got an M2 iPad with the Magic Keyboard and  Pencil ✏️ and now I’m using it as my computer. I have had to create some minor work around a but honestly the portability and iPadOS ironically is what I love about it. If I wanted macOS, I’d buy that. I feel like the iPad is a computer for those of us in the iOS digital age. Best traveling computer I’ve experienced, bar none.

      @@ShotOnmyPhone for example, I plug in the studio display when 13” just isn’t enough. I had to port larger files for FCP on the iPad to edit, which was a pain, and then put it back on the hard drive. Which, apparently, they have fixed this. Also, there are several online web app options if there’s not a proper app or some features seem to be missing (like with Office 365 although it has dramatically improved). Also, Safari extensions are growing and have found some useful ones here for my workflow as well. FCP though… I need those plug-ins so I can really be set free.

    • @ShotOnmyPhone
      @ShotOnmyPhone  3 месяца назад

      Yeah I don't know why they gave the iPad a limited version of FCP only rather than the full thing. Clearly the hardware is there. Unless I'm missing something it seems apple doesn't want the iPad to take sales away from the Mac. They're really leaning into them complementing each other rather than letting users choose one or the other and still get the full experience

    Hello! (English isn’t my main language, sorry in advance for posible errors)…
    I agree with you (with your point), but I think that the “MacOS” on iPad is more because looking outside of Apple, there’re pretty good options who work better with external displays (like Samsung’s tablets or phones). Other way to think about this (and actually what I personally think) is that the iPad has all the potential, literally the same chip as the MacBooks (I have a 12.9 M2 iPad Pro) and it’s weird because the OS doesn’t take advantage of the power. So, a “solution” could be to have a dual boot (similar to Samsung dex but, better?) where if you want to use the touch first interface you can, but when you’re using the Magic Keyboard, you can enter to “MacOS lite” and maybe install heavier apps.
    Maybe my idea is like a dream, but iPadOS has limitations for the compatibility for older devices (which is good imo), and having the ability for the pro devices to switch the system could be pretty useful… (even if it’s available in selected devices like the M series iPads or only the pro iPads (like to distinguish between them)
    Just to end my comment, I’ll talk about my personal use case. I’m a student (in engineering or something, idk how to translate it exactly, but it’s like engineering in information and management control) and I almost always take only the iPad to the university because I can write on it (like handwriting) or review assignments (I’m a teacher assistant for one class), or also to do simple tasks, but sometimes I have to do heavier work, and when I’m working with large documents (and not that complicated, excel for example), sometimes the files app just crashes (idk why, but it takes a while for it to work again unless I restart the iPad which isn’t ideal), or for one course, I had to write code in python, I wanted to use Spider and it wasn’t available, I searched for other solutions and those weren’t that good… I know that google colab is a thing, but the internet connection sometimes isn’t great (when I’m traveling for example, or when is too crowded in the study rooms), so it is pretty important to work offline (sometimes)… for me having the ability to switch between systems could be a great solution, having the same iPad experience that I love without having to bring my MacBook for some classes when I need to do specific tasks once every few days…
    PD: sorry if I wrote a lot, this is between my few comments that I have in the platform and I wanted to explain myself

      Thank you for your comment! I appreciate you taking the time to write it!
      I do agree that the iPad could use a app first interface like it currently has but then when connected to the magic keyboard it gives the option to switch interface to something more Mac like

    It’s not so much the os that’s the issue, it’s apples grip on the software it can run. It can’t have unity, unreal engine, godot or blender because of its store policies. They don’t allow developers outside of web browsers to use jit. Severely limiting the performance of certain apps. They only allocated apps to use 5 gb of ram aside from apps they deem pro apps. You wanna learn computer networking? They don’t only allow that. You can’t program an arduino on it. And It’s not iPad OS’s fault. I like the OS, it’s why I switched from my surface to my iPad. It’s the fact that there’s many programs that would run fantastic on the hardware that just can’t come because apple wont let them

    • @ShotOnmyPhone
      @ShotOnmyPhone  3 месяца назад

      So if Apple allowed a kind of dual boot between an app centric iPad OS and once connected to the keyboard it will have the option to boot into something similar to Mac OS would that fix it? Or does Apple just need to lift these restrictions since the iPad now has the power to handle it?

    • @christianr.5868
      @christianr.5868 3 месяца назад +1

      @@ShotOnmyPhone it’s 100 percent the limitations. If apple raised its limitations and allowed more desktop level software. It’d make the decision to purchase an iPad over another device at its price point a lot easier. People just suggest Mac OS because theoretically it’d be the fastest way to reach that point, but fingers crossed apple allows better software to iPadOS.

    • @ShotOnmyPhone
      @ShotOnmyPhone  3 месяца назад

      Understandable. I definitely agree. If we can keep iPad OS the way it is but with less limitations than it would be able to do most of these things that people complain it can’t do

    IpadOS needs to remove some of the limitations. For example Safari WebKit does not open all websites properly that a Mac can. I then need to rely on the Mac to do work.
    The workflows I am more familiar on a Mac. However if they do make it very similar I think that would remove that argument as well.
    Also iPadOS is closed and I would love like how in EU they are allowing other app stores or downloading of applications.
    The windowed app experience. Stage manager is not it.

      Totally agree about stage manager. Its crap... But the consensus I'm hearing people say is that if iPad OS removed some of its safari limitations than it would be much better. If anything it would be a good start

    did this guy just said M4 Regular and M3 Max have similar power ?
    People just want to have iPad and MacOS on ipad, not to own and pay to devices.
    Let's say i need to use After Effect and Procreate I need 2 devices, It could be technically be done on 1 device
    Let's say i want a 11" Mac to be mobile, my iPad can't be use on some web app properly, last year i tried figma on iPadOs it didn't work properly.
    M1 chip on Ipad is overpower already.

      Thanks for the comment! Definitely think a lot of these tasks could be done on one device instead of needing to pay for two over 1,000$ devices. But then Apple would lose money and God forbid that happens lol...
