I am not throwing away any pair of jeans. Low waist and skinny jean will come back. Like any other jeans... Not flattering for everyone but definitely, ladies, do not throw away ANY pair of jeans. You can always refashion them! Re-use, recycle, repurpose.
I'm one of those people that think wear whatever you want to wear. Trends is a money grab for the industry. No one can tell you what you should wear to fit with the crowd. Your grown make your own decisions. These folks have nerves telling you what's out of style for you.
Thank goodness for the high waisted jeans comeback. They are the most flattering and most comfortable even on thin women who could wear any style. Another fashion “expert” has a video saying they are out, but they are actually just getting started. Mid to low rise isn’t flattering on most women as no one looks good with muffin top. I’ll be buying up some high waisted ones and wearing them forever regardless of the trend of the year. Coco Channel always said that style is what looks good on you.

Lol I never wore any one in the video. I keep one skinny in black, straight leg Midwaist is my favorite for my body type. I keep a high waist boot cut and a two boyfriend jeans. I has been with me for almost for quite sometime. Mine is mostly from Levi's, Lee Cooper and wrangler. Wear what's comfortable for yourself ,height body type
Never liked cropped flares. But yes to high rise, cropped wide legs that are an easy modern alternate to a middle denim skirt. Yes to pedal pusher fitted jeans as a support and cover replacement for shorts on my 65-year-old thighs. Only one pair ankle length to wear with Doc Martin's and hiking boots. Wide leg jeans must be fitted to the tush and upper thigh then fall straight to a wide hem. I love a little puddle at all width hems. Always maxi.izing leg length illusion. Also a more comfortable length for sitting in a chair or chaise. Growing up, cheap jeans were always short and awkward: so now, a hem that I can feel breaking across my instep feels more luxurious.
Agree - what were they thinking with cropped flares? It flatters no one! I’m a slim size zero and still would not wear them. We called them ‘flood pants’ back in the day.
I just got a pair of high waisted flair jeans that ever so slightly puddle. I am 5’4” so I tried on the short length and they looked terrible. I went down a size and regular length and my daughter said OMG! You HAVE to buy those! You look AMAZING! I get compliments every time I wear them. My other denim purchases are on trend as well. Nothing beats a great pair of straight legged, high waisted jeans 👖 in my opinion they are the most universally flattering.
I love that everyone in these jean trend videos stays away from boyfriend jeans. Probably because those of us who love our boyfriend jeans won't give them up anyway, so why bother trying to tell us! 😆❤
Just picked up a pair of high rise light/medium wash wide leg jeans. They are 8th of an inch off the floor 😉. I just love, love, love them. I wear them with a fitted top with a belt and heeled foot wear. They make my waist look small and my legs go on forever! 😍. I am 64 and wore this style of jeans in the 70's! I asked my daughters (I have 4) if they were too young for me, I received a resounding no. This is where some of us great-grandmothers err. Yes!! Love high waisted jeans. Even I wear them, and Im a dude. It hides my gut, making my waist look smaller. I look taller, less stumpy and less top heavy. High waist supports my back better, and better range of motion!!

I love my Mother Step Crop Fray, I’ll be wearing them for a while to come.. i like ripped jeans but minimally ripped, not bear mauled ripped 😂and skinny works for me always.. the key is confidence and modern shoes
My favorite jeans mentioned in this video are the high waisted jeans because I am thick in my belly due to being short-waisted and having back-to-back c-sections. I need all the help I can get in my middle. Thanks for your advice and explaining it so well.
I'm in the clear for a minute. I prefer medium wash, high waist, boot cut jeans. No frays, crops, low rise, or uneven hems. I can ratt out the hems just fine on my own. I have a long waist, and long legs, so it looks good. I can pull off crops or bermudas, but in another material besides denim. So glad the torn stuff is fading out! And no leggings! I consider them like tights, something I will wear under a dress in winter, outside of a yoga class I fail to see them being flattering on most people, including myself. Just a little too much exposure. At my age, we dont need to see that, and I will spare you that uncomfortable moment.
When you talk about cropped pants I totally agree. I'd even throw capris in there. I think most women haven't done a proportion study of themselves. The Golden Mean is not a bad place to start. This includes hair length. I'm 5' 3" and actually getting pants that fit me is difficult because commercially I'm not really a misses and not quite a petite. It's more than that because often the rise is all wrong, too short. Another bad look are skirts and dresses that had that unflattering mid-calf point.
I've heard skinny jeans are out since last year, but whenever I go into my favorite store, Talbots or my little local boutique they are still there. So they are being made. I do like the jean with stretch because it is forgiving, and I can sit in them. I want to try on the Spanx jeans. I think my generation will always wear jeans because we were raised in them. I will wear them when I am in my nineties and may wear them to my grave. Ha ha.
Talbots is not exactly a fashion forward store. And most people look terrible in skinny jeans but they aren’t aware of that. unless YOU are skinny, skinny jeans look awful.
Most of the women that I consider to be stylish still wear skinny jeans. Maybe my area is slow to change but they just work better with boots in the winter and just various shoes in general. Most people here in MN don’t wear heels like that in day to day life and flare or bootcut look frumpy to me if you are wearing casual shoes. I’m having a really hard time finding other styles that look good on me. Can’t stand the jeans that are dragging on the floor. I’m 4’11” and not plus sized but not skinny, either. More of an athletic leg with bigger calves. Can’t find anything that is more of a slim fit that doesn’t still look like skinny jeans. And a lot of the new styles and fabrics make the but flat.
When I was a kid mom wouldn’t let me wear blue jeans. 😢She said they made people look poor. If you bought all these fashion jeans today you would be poor.
I like the look of ripped jeans, but I don't like the feel of them. It feels cold. That's why I just bought a pair of denim with patches. Don't know if it's on trend or not, but I like them.
That’s a great idea! I feel you! The holes sometimes give the feeling on the skin, of ripped hosiery. I was considering doing the same as you’ve purchased just to see if I would wear them more often.
Also the rips get bigger with time and I’m always on edge when my knees are bent and I think I’m going to make the holes rip even bigger. I like the look in summer though.

I’m 65 & I can’t wear high rise jeans since I have a short torso. Love mid rise straight leg jeans. I don’t mind a little rip here & there but the really ripped ones no way. ❤
I do still love my cropped flares, im 5'5" so not short and I wear them with boots like my doc martens so no skin shows. I love long flares too and my wide leg jeans are so comfy. Not a fan of cargo jeans or jeans that pool at the bottom. It's so great that there are so many choices in jeans, a style to suit everyone
I have a pair of cropped flares that I love and I’m 5 ft 1 😅😅😅. Maybe mine aren’’t “overly cropped” - (I like them right above the ankle bone) if I feel great in them, I’ll wear them to pieces (also with my docs).
Nice for people who care about trends but meh, why follow trends? Best would be to learn your kibbe type and wear what looks good on you and you won't have to worry what's in style and you'll always looks fantastic!
I like to get quality denim and I keep them forever. I don’t wash them if I don’t have to and they are so soft and almost molded to to me. I have 3 pairs of these. Real vintage jeans are amazing, but I will say again, look for real, quality jeans, not the fast fashion kind. They aren’t made to last. I do have a few more “trendy” jeans too. This was a good video. I hope that she does a video about quality denim. I find it so interesting!
I have “No Hips”. So I can’t stand stretchy jeans. Especially A Stretchy / Skinny Jean. The skinny Jean pull’s my jeans down. Especially when they are stretchy. 30 minutes after putting them on they are falling down, makin my but look saggy & I Absolutely Hate it. I’m so happy the stretchy/skinny Jean is out!! I am looking forward to a nice above the belly button, thick denim, straight leg, non-ripped jean. Love light, regular, & dark wash. Also love a great belt. I can't get enough jeans! My fav are my new high waist straight that puddles a little. Thank you for this video. Very helpful! Also, I'm so glad the super frayed look is out. That never made sense to me. I like a little fray or distress, but super fray looks too contrived imo.
I'm 64. I think puddling jeans are ridiculous. I live in the Pacific North "Wet". I wore these wide-legs and big bells in the 70s that were always too long and they just dragged on the wet ground and made my legs cold. If I buy any jeans and I'm 5'4" with a 31 inch inseam, I'll have to hem them up, so they wont' wick water and mud from the ground. I wont' wear ripped anything. Why pay for something that looks like homeless attire. I like the high waisted jeans cause they hold in your gut, but they have to be stretchy or they are NOT comfortable.

None of these styles fit my body shape or flatter it. I am short with a short torso and I’m thick. None of these would work for me. Maybe if I were taller, thinner and had a longer torso I could wear that kind of stuff. Any suggestions?
I’ve been shopping for jeans this week and the stores mostly feature excessively ripped jeans…very frustrating! I am 69 years old and 4’9”….so finding jeans to fit me appropriately is a challenge. I love my skinny jeans and will continue to wear them (high rise only). I also recently purchased 2 pair of flairs…1 button fly and one standard. I wear my jeans with heels, ankle boots, and platform Docs and Chelsea boots with blazers, cropped jackets, and maxi coats and cardigans. I prefer cropped tops as they give my legs the illusion of being longer. A bit of volume or open neck or off shoulder style top also seems to give a bit more slimming effect. Unfortunately, most of my jeans have to be altered in length due to my munchkin size body; however, raw edge jeans are an easy fix…snip snip, rub them together vigorously and … there ya go…problem solved…the perfect raw edge!!!
My daughter sells my clothes and Victoria’s Secret lingerie online as vintage. There are people out there who think my early 2000s clothes cool and they’re mostly under 25. 😊 I never throw out old clothes and shoes.

I am 73 and low rise jeans use to be called hipsters....skinny jeans use to be called pedal pushers and boot leg use to be bell bottoms....that was 50 years ago.

Agree - what were they thinking with cropped flares? It flatters no one! I’m a slim size zero and still would not wear them. We called them ‘flood pants’ back in the day.

I just got a pair of high waisted flair jeans that ever so slightly puddle. I am 5’4” so I tried on the short length and they looked terrible. I went down a size and regular length and my daughter said OMG! You HAVE to buy those! You look AMAZING! I get compliments every time I wear them. My other denim purchases are on trend as well. Nothing beats a great pair of straight legged, high waisted jeans 👖 in my opinion they are the most universally flattering.

Just picked up a pair of high rise light/medium wash wide leg jeans. They are 8th of an inch off the floor 😉. I just love, love, love them. I wear them with a fitted top with a belt and heeled foot wear. They make my waist look small and my legs go on forever! 😍. I am 64 and wore this style of jeans in the 70's! I asked my daughters (I have 4) if they were too young for me, I received a resounding no. This is where some of us great-grandmothers err. Some of us don't update ourwardrobes with some current pieces and begin to look dowdy and beyond our ages. Thank you for this vid I really appreciated it. You look smashing as always Heather 🙂

Yes!! Love high waisted jeans. Even I wear them, and Im a dude. It hides my gut, making my waist look smaller. I look taller, less stumpy and less top heavy. High waist supports my back better, and better range of motion!!

I love my Mother Step Crop Fray, I’ll be wearing them for a while to come.. i like ripped jeans but minimally ripped, not bear mauled ripped 😂and skinny works for me always.. the key is confidence and modern shoes
My favorite jeans mentioned in this video are the high waisted jeans because I am thick in my belly due to being short-waisted and having back-to-back c-sections. I need all the help I can get in my middle. Thanks for your advice and explaining it so well.
I'm in the clear for a minute. I prefer medium wash, high waist, boot cut jeans. No frays, crops, low rise, or uneven hems. I can ratt out the hems just fine on my own. I have a long waist, and long legs, so it looks good. I can pull off crops or bermudas, but in another material besides denim. So glad the torn stuff is fading out!
And no leggings! I consider them like tights, something I will wear under a dress in winter, outside of a yoga class I fail to see them being flattering on most people, including myself. Just a little too much exposure. At my age, we dont need to see that, and I will spare you that uncomfortable moment.

When you talk about cropped pants I totally agree. I'd even throw capris in there. I think most women haven't done a proportion study of themselves. The Golden Mean is not a bad place to start. This includes hair length. I'm 5' 3" and actually getting pants that fit me is difficult because commercially I'm not really a misses and not quite a petite. It's more than that because often the rise is all wrong, too short. Another bad look are skirts and dresses that had that unflattering mid-calf point.
I've heard skinny jeans are out since last year, but whenever I go into my favorite store, Talbots or my little local boutique they are still there. So they are being made. I do like the jean with stretch because it is forgiving, and I can sit in them. I want to try on the Spanx jeans. I think my generation will always wear jeans because we were raised in them. I will wear them when I am in my nineties and may wear them to my grave. Ha ha.
Skinny jeans was out in 2022. But they're back big time in 2023. All the fashion influencers say so.

Talbots is not exactly a fashion forward store. And most people look terrible in skinny jeans but they aren’t aware of that. unless YOU are skinny, skinny jeans look awful.
Most of the women that I consider to be stylish still wear skinny jeans. Maybe my area is slow to change but they just work better with boots in the winter and just various shoes in general. Most people here in MN don’t wear heels like that in day to day life and flare or bootcut look frumpy to me if you are wearing casual shoes. I’m having a really hard time finding other styles that look good on me. Can’t stand the jeans that are dragging on the floor. I’m 4’11” and not plus sized but not skinny, either. More of an athletic leg with bigger calves. Can’t find anything that is more of a slim fit that doesn’t still look like skinny jeans. And a lot of the new styles and fabrics make the but flat.
When I was a kid mom wouldn’t let me wear blue jeans. 😢She said they made people look poor. If you bought all these fashion jeans today you would be poor.
I like the look of ripped jeans, but I don't like the feel of them. It feels cold. That's why I just bought a pair of denim with patches. Don't know if it's on trend or not, but I like them.
That’s a great idea! I feel you! The holes sometimes give the feeling on the skin, of ripped hosiery. I was considering doing the same as you’ve purchased just to see if I would wear them more often.
Also the rips get bigger with time and I’m always on edge when my knees are bent and I think I’m going to make the holes rip even bigger. I like the look in summer though.

I do still love my cropped flares, im 5'5" so not short and I wear them with boots like my doc martens so no skin shows. I love long flares too and my wide leg jeans are so comfy. Not a fan of cargo jeans or jeans that pool at the bottom. It's so great that there are so many choices in jeans, a style to suit everyone
I have a pair of cropped flares that I love and I’m 5 ft 1 😅😅😅. Maybe mine aren’’t “overly cropped” - (I like them right above the ankle bone) if I feel great in them, I’ll wear them to pieces (also with my docs).
Nice for people who care about trends but meh, why follow trends? Best would be to learn your kibbe type and wear what looks good on you and you won't have to worry what's in style and you'll always looks fantastic!

I like to get quality denim and I keep them forever. I don’t wash them if I don’t have to and they are so soft and almost molded to to me. I have 3 pairs of these. Real vintage jeans are amazing, but I will say again, look for real, quality jeans, not the fast fashion kind. They aren’t made to last. I do have a few more “trendy” jeans too. This was a good video. I hope that she does a video about quality denim. I find it so interesting!

I have “No Hips”. So I can’t stand stretchy jeans. Especially A Stretchy / Skinny Jean. The skinny Jean pull’s my jeans down. Especially when they are stretchy. 30 minutes after putting them on they are falling down, makin my but look saggy & I Absolutely Hate it. I’m so happy the stretchy/skinny Jean is out!! I am looking forward to a nice above the belly button, thick denim, straight leg, non-ripped jean. Love light, regular, & dark wash. Also love a great belt. So I am so Excited for some flattering denim jeans 👖 😃. Can’t wait to go shopping!!! (( I do wish Levies would start making button fly jeans again)) That Would Be Amazing!!!

I'm 64. I think puddling jeans are ridiculous. I live in the Pacific North "Wet". I wore these wide-legs and big bells in the 70s that were always too long and they just dragged on the wet ground and made my legs cold. If I buy any jeans and I'm 5'4" with a 31 inch inseam, I'll have to hem them up, so they wont' wick water and mud from the ground. I wont' wear ripped anything. Why pay for something that looks like homeless attire. I like the high waisted jeans cause they hold in your gut, but they have to be stretchy or they are NOT comfortable.

I am a super slim tall person. I love low rise, high rise, flared, straight leg. Really don't like skinny, baggy, cropped.

None of these styles fit my body shape or flatter it. I am short with a short torso and I’m thick. None of these would work for me. Maybe if I were taller, thinner and had a longer torso I could wear that kind of stuff. Any suggestions?
I’ve been shopping for jeans this week and the stores mostly feature excessively ripped jeans…very frustrating! I am 69 years old and 4’9”….so finding jeans to fit me appropriately is a challenge. I love my skinny jeans and will continue to wear them (high rise only). I also recently purchased 2 pair of flairs…1 button fly and one standard. I wear my jeans with heels, ankle boots, and platform Docs and Chelsea boots with blazers, cropped jackets, and maxi coats and cardigans. I prefer cropped tops as they give my legs the illusion of being longer. A bit of volume or open neck or off shoulder style top also seems to give a bit more slimming effect. Unfortunately, most of my jeans have to be altered in length due to my munchkin size body; however, raw edge jeans are an easy fix…snip snip, rub them together vigorously and … there ya go…problem solved…the perfect raw edge!!!
My daughter sells my clothes and Victoria’s Secret lingerie online as vintage. There are people out there who think my early 2000s clothes cool and they’re mostly under 25. 😊 I never throw out old clothes and shoes.
