Best review out there! I would trust this guys opinion over anybody else. Keep up the great work man!
Thank you. Appreciate the positive feedback. 😊 please consider liking the video and subscribing.
I have the Tekton 1/4 and 3/8 drive. I believe it is ‘identical’ to the Pittsburg or Icon. They have been great for over a year now
Appreciate the feedback. I may look into a Tekton in the future. However all my Pittsburgh ratchets have been holding up for over a decade now. 👍🏻
These are very good tools I bought a 1/2 in 30” ratchet looks just like this just massive and I’ve had it for 15 years handle and o ring haven’t even broken still every thing original
Thanks for sharing your experiences with these tools. Glad to hear that they have held up.
3:40... The handle is nylon very strong and durable...
I have Their round head flexhead ratchets and long 0° offset wrenches..good stuff from Genius...
Thanks for commenting. Glad to hear it’s been holding up. How long have you had yours?
Carlyle is pricey at NAPA but looks good. Test it out would be interesting. Low back drag matters a lot on 1/4" stuff as often they are used in hard to access places.
It’s pricy but well made.
I have the genius ratchet I've had it 15+ years great ratchet the internals are the same as snap on facom etc
Glad you like your ratchet. 👍🏻
I have the Craftsman rotos, and I didn't even think about the plastic selector switch. Good call. It's good to me, otherwise.
Glad to hear it’s holding up still. Yea, not a favorite of the plastic. Thank you for commenting.
I've always preferred the hard plastic handles. The Genius handle reminds me of Snap on's handle. The Mac handle like you installed on your other ratchet was my favorite. It provided a comfortable grip.
I would have to agree with preferring hard plastic handles. The MAC handle is my favorite.
I am a big fan of roto ratchets, I have had the Pittsburgh set for years with our any issues. I have been looking to upgrade recently. I would say, if I could afford the snap on 100t long handle roto, I would buy that, but it is out of my league. I think I'm gonna just go with the Icons.
I think the Icon would be a solid choice. Like you I use my Roto quite often. Definitely one of my favorites. Thanks for commenting and please consider subscribing.

@@bigc7t thank you for doing so. Likes and comments both go a long ways. 👍🏻
I recently bought a few new roto head ratchets a couple from Northern Tool and a couple from Japan. If your interested i will go into details. Also, can you do a video on that Carlye. Thanks
Thanks for sharing. Feel free to go into details. Many here would likely appreciate some constructive input. Yes I plan to do the Carlyle soon. Thanks again for sharing and please consider subscribing. 👍🏻
@@thingsmen I order 2 from Northern Tool, they are there house brand Klutch (3/8"+1/4") both 11 inches long and both the heads are 1/4" drive size 72T, made in Taiwan, they are pretty decent. Then I order 3 ratchets from Amazon Japan. KTC -brsw3l, 3/8" 300mm long 72T, very nice and also from TONE tools- rh3vhw 3/8" 245mm 144 position very nice and also from TONE rh2vhs 1/4" 150mm long 144postion . The Tone ratchets have a locking mechanism where you can lock the piston of the head. They are all roto head ratchets. The Tone are very nice but I think the switches are made of plastic( I did not like this). The KTC and the 3/8 Klutch are very similar, but the KTC is made in Japan and higher quality. I left the part numbers if you Google them you should be able to find them.
I'm looking at buying a different Genius Tools ratchet, because I like that type of hard handle, I'm not interested in paying Snap-On prices, and Tekton isn't available here in the UK.
If you like the handle choice then go for it. It’s just not my favorite
I have the Omnidrive from Genius so far....
You like it?
I havent used it too much yet since I bought it about month ago but so far so good. I like how it feels in my hand, the ergonomics, the balance. Looks fine for those small, 1/4" bit and socket jobs.@@thingsmen
Same as the wera
How so?
Just get a wera zyklop
I’ve considered it.
Carlyle is the best bang for the buck
I really like most of what they put out there.
I agree. Everything I have purchased from Carlyle is Really Nice and comparable to any Tool Truck brand. I Love MAC & Snap-on, but Carlyle is same quality with Lifetime warranty and NAPA has stores in every city and NAPA is great about warranty process.
The Carlyle impact sockets are Top notch
@@stevensko9153. Make sure to buy the “Real Deals” sales and they have monthly specials online each month
@@scottaddison8071 Carlyle impact sockets are just rebranded Sunex for 2x the price.
Top notch, sure. Not worth paying double for the same exact product with a different logo though.
Have this ratchet its crap. Backdrag is terrible ratcheting mech feels crappy. Like alof of their tools but no ratchetz
Yes nothing special about it. Honestly never use it.
