Stevie Nicks has been inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame twice once as a solo artist and once with Fleetwood Mac She’s definitely up there with the great female vocalist of all time

My 22 yr old son walked in just as you said "I've never heard of Stevie Nicks" and he said "Has he been living under a rock since the 70s? Mom, even I've heard of The Goddess of Rock!" But then he loves Fleetwood Mac. (Yes, we've raised him right! Fleetwood Mac, ACDC, Def Leppard, to name a few. Anything 70s and 80s he calls "The Music of My People".)
Check out Fleetwood Mac's live version of Rhiannon from the Midnight Special in the 70s and be blown away. This is an amazing band. Russ Kunkel on drums, Waddy Wachtel on guitar, Lori Perry back up vocals. I was so lucky to see this combination of artists in concert multiple times. I was blessed.
Stevie is a member of Fleetwood Mac, and sings the lead on the majority of their songs, along with Christine McVie! She has collabed with quite a few different artists! She has a song with Tom Petty called Stop draggin' my heart around, and a song with Don Henley (Lead singer of Eagles) called Leather and Lace! Both are worth a listen! A few of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs are Landslide, The Chain, Little Lies, Never going back again, & Gold Dust Woman!
Turning 18 was important for this generation. At 18 we were adults and most of us left out parent's homes and went out on our own. Me and most of the friends I graduated with were married at 18-19. At 17 we were all doing the countdown to what we thought was freedom. Totally not understanding how much more free we were as children!
Leather & Lace is with Don Henley. She did an amazing duo with Kenny Logging called Whenever I Call You Friend. Her best duo with Tom Petty is Insider.
Stevie Nicks is first and foremost a showman. She had this personna of being a white witch, a mystical, magical figure with the wispy flowing gowns singing of gypsies. What was (and still is) not to love?
The goddess Stevie Nicks!!!🥰 She's actually very affectionately known as "the white-witch". Just her stage presence alone has you mesmerized, then she starts singing and BOOM... you're under her spell for life!!!🤗I fell under her spell when I was 6y/o (1977) when FM's "Rhiannon" came on the radio in my mom's car. Stevie's voice is other-worldly!! Keep going with Stevie and of course with her in Fleetwood Mac.... they have an incredible catalogue and quite an "interesting" history together! 😅The amount of drama and relationship "issues" is off-the chain and quite messy, but it made stellar music though!!😜 Great reaction!! Peace and light to all...✌💞 FUN FACT: Stevie Nicks was the FIRST woman to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame TWICE!!! She was inducted first time in 1998 with Fleetwood Mac and then inducted for the second time in 2019 for her solo career (and album "Bella Donna")... speaks volumes to her greatness... just saying!!😁 Check out her solo hit "STAND BACK"... it was her cheeky little response to Prince's "Little Red Corvette" (the lyrics). Even better... Prince wrote the opening synth riff on it for her!👊 You'll hear the inspiration of his "Little Red Corvette" in Stevie's "Stand Back" for sure!! It's incredible...
Stevie Nicks and the late Cristine McVie were a great part of Fleet wood Mac. Yes, Stevie s still going strong. She s had some flings with bandmates and others but her respect as a singer and entertainer is off the charts. Everyone loves her and her immense talent. She s brought her sound through many decades and all generations still gravitate to her magnetism and unwavering popularity. She s a true beautiful legend.

Dude, she’s a legend. She was the lead singer of Fleetwood Mac the front woman of Fleetwood Mac and she had a solo career. She was the only female artist to be nominated into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame two times as a solo artist and with Fleetwood Mac.
Fleetwood Mac was a so-so band in the early 70's. One day Mick Fleetwood heard an album called simply Buckingham Nicks (the first album put out by Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks). Mick was blown away by the guitar work by Buckingham and offered Lindsey a job joining his Fleetwod Mac group. Buckingham said he would join Fleetwood only if he agreed to include Stevie Nicks in the deal. Once the new Fleetwood Mac began they rocketed to Mega-stardom with the Rumours album. The original Buckingham Nicks album had poor sales due to inadequate marketing. However, it is surprisingly good with vocals by Stevie and Lindsey plus great guitar work by Buckingham. Listen to Crying In The Night, Races Are Run, Long Distance Winner, and the super spectacular Frozen Love. You won't be sorry!
Stevie is an icon. There is nobody who sounds like her. She's an original. My hubby and I saw her in the mid 2000s at Caesar's Palace and she sounded so good. She was so cool, she greeted people at the edge of the stage. So many fans. Great memory.
According to Nicks, the title came from a conversation she had with Tom Petty's first wife, Jane, about the couple's first meeting. Jane said they met "at the age of seventeen", but Jane's strong Southern accent made it sound like "edge of seventeen"

I love everything she sings! And you made a comment about her “angel” outfit. This is the way that she has chosen to dress from early on in her career. She likes that Gypsy look. She’s usually more in black I’d say. Always wearing platform heeled boots to give her some height. She really still looks pretty awesome for her age and still sounds great! She performed with many other groups in her career on certain songs. And I think I had heard that she sold her catalog of her songs/the rights to them for millions. And was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist as well, the FIRST female to do so. She’s still rocking! 🥰💯⭐️🤩🫶🏼🏆🎼❤️🤘🏼
Love Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. Thank you! Small tidbit - the novel/series called Daisy Jones and The Six is said to be loosely based on Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham (also the actress who plays Daisy, Riley Keough, is Elvis Presley's granddaughter).

❤YES!! "SILVER SPRINGS" live from the dance concert is a must on a FM/Stevie Nicks journey!!💯 The amount of emotion, passion and "if looks could kill"😜😂 in that performance is intense!! It's soul piercing!!!🤗
Edge of Seventeen is about Nicks being with her uncle when he passed away & John Lennon being gunned down. The trauma and grief of the events inspired her to write the song. Also in the Beatles song "I Saw Her Standing There" Well, she was just seventeen, You know what I mean, And the way she looked was way beyond compare. “At Seventeen” by Janis Ian, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" Meat Loaf' Even Frank Sinatra's “It Was A Very Good Year” reflects his romantic encounters beginning at 17. " When I was seventeen. It was a very good year. It was a very good year for small town girls. And soft summer nights".
Stevie Nicks was with Fleetwood Mac and eventually went solo. This was one of her solo hits. Someone mentioned her breakup with Lindsey Buckingham who was also part of Fleetwood Mac. They also mentioned the song The Chain about their breakup. Awesome song and my favorite along with this one. She was a solo artist but had her backup band and singers.
stevie is a member of fleetwood mac. she is one of 3 singer/songwriters in the band. "edge of seventeen" was the 1st single off stevie's debut solo album BELLA DONNA in 1981 during a hiatus/downtime of fleetwood mac. she embarked on a short tour for this album, culminating in this final show in L.A. which was recorded for an HBO concert special. the whole show was PHENOMINAL and though released on video, i'll never understand why it never made it to dvd for purchase. there are other songs from this show on YT thankfully. yes, even now at 75 yrs young (she'll be 76 soon), stevie is still performing. she's at her peak here at about a gorgeous 33. she ended her tour to go back into the studio to record fleetwood mac's next album MIRAGE (1982). hope this provides some context!
There's only 6 years between your age and mine.. So I forget that not everyone grew up with an extended family with a wide range of musical tastes. (from traditional Newfoundland, to country, punk, hard Rock, oldies to top 40) Stevie is amazing.. Both in Fleetwood Mac and solo. She also appeared in American Horror Story (season 3 : Coven). Her song Seven Wonders is featured in that, and remains on my playlist.
Stevie Nicks was the lead singer of Fleetwood Mac after her and her then boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham (lead guitar) joined the band in the early 70's. She wrote most of the hit songs that Fleetwood Mac had in the early-mid 70's. Generally regarded as one of the best female singers and a very recognizable voice.
Stevie!!!!!!!!!!! She's another reason the 80s were so great. Love seeing her receive her flowers. Can't deny the love shared between artist and fans during the 80s.
My one and only girl crush is on Stevie Nicks. A couple of months ago, I took my grandkids to see her in Little Rock. I was so proud, they knew the words to EVERY song! At 75, she rocked for 3 hrs!!! You should check out Fleetwood Mac w/Stevie singing Silver Springs. It is drama!😉 PS: I like Abba as much as the next person, but please don’t compare Stevie to Abba.
Stevie Nick's, she is one of the best singers in the world. Yes she is a lady. Love all her music. She is part of Fleetwood Mac... She has one of the best voices in Rock and Roll for a female artist. She is in theRock and Roll hall of fame as solo and with the band. She lead lady of the this song. Yes she still preforming
Edge of Seventeen is off Stevie's first solo album. Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie were dual leads in Fleetwood Mac. They both have a bunch of song where one is the lead and the other is back up. I think Stevie has the more recognizable voice but Christine had some really great songs too. "Everywhere" being my favorite.
The guitar riff in the beginning was sampled by Destiny’s Child for their hit “Bootylicious”! Stevie Nicks even makes a cameo in the official video for Bootylicious! I love Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac and solo!❤❤
@@anthonyv6962 Why do you say that? KISS kept touring until last year. The Rolling Stones are still touring. Duran Duran is still touring. My friend just saw them last weekend.
@@ajruther67exactly! Why are some people so hung up on this? The top selling concerts in 2023 were bands and artists who have been performing for 30 + years … probably because they are true musicians.
@@colleentrygg7376 You are right! Most of the bands still touring are the ones we grew up with. Everyone else makes music for awhile and drop out of sight with the exception of Taylor Swift.
Stevie Nicks is a solo artist here with a backing group. When she sings with Fleetwood Mac , she's one of three different lead singers that each have their own songs. The other singers being Christine McVie & Lindsey Buckingham.
I saw them 4 times,, over a 15or,,so,,,years they where Soo beautiful done each time,,, and yes she did do some Solo they all did,,so entertwine with each other,,was the 70s80s and so the keyboardest just passed away,,,
Stevie was one of the lead singers in Fleetwood Mac, she branches out to do some solo things (still performing today). The other 2 female singers are two of her best friends, the lead guitarist is Waddy Wachtel one of the finest session/touring guitarists around, also still playing today!
Stevie was a goddess back in the day, still is. She made a whole lot of young guys', let's just say hearts race. She was the lead in Fleetwood Mac and a solo. A true star.
The 70s was crazy but so much fun, fabulous music, people actually talk to each other and the night clubs nd bars were the place to be for good tunes and bands. We had streetheart, heart and harlequin playing in the bars to name a few. We had the best time, miss those days
FYI, Eye of the Tiger was released a year AFTER this song & many accused it of stealing the opening guitar riff from Edge of Seventeen.
Yes!!
And then eventually Stevie allowed Destiny's Child to use it in the beginning of Bootyliscous which imo was not deserving of such an iconic sample lol
@@TheInkdN3rd She's in their video, so I'm cool with it!
Beyonce stole it instead
No one accused them of stealing anything. It's one of the first things most guitarists learn how to do. Em, C, D is a common in songwriting also.

She was part of Fleetwood Mac this was her solo career you need to check out her song Room On Fire
Stevie nicks is also a part of fleetwood mac and she had a solo carrer to. Shes been put in the rockin roll hall of fame twice. Once with fleetwood mac and again with her solo singiing.
Yes! Do the live version of Silver Springs! Quite a story behind it.
She's often got her sister singing back up so their voices blend so perfectly. She's an absolutely magnetic performer.
Sister-in-law, Stevie’s brother Chris’s wife Lori.
(from traditional Newfoundland, to country, punk, hard Rock, oldies to top 40)
Stevie is amazing..
FLEETWOOD MAC.. one of the lead singers ! She performed as Stevie after she went out on her own.
Stevie Knick’s is an ICON!!! Everything she’s ever done is has been a hit, including her newer music.
Stevie nicks had a blast doing a song a duet with Dolly Parton for Dolly Parton's Rockstar album.
Stevie nicks is an awesome singer
Stevie!!!!!!!!!!! She's another reason the 80s were so great. Love seeing her receive her flowers. Can't deny the love shared between artist and fans during the 80s.
One of the Queens of rock! Stevie Nicks has been up there for me since I first heard Fleetwood Mac.
Stevie Nicks and Tom Pettey "Stop dragging my heart around" is a must for you great reaction!
Waddy`s guitar tone is killer.
Iconic for sure..🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️
Stevie Nick's, she is one of the best singers in the world. Yes she is a lady. Love all her music. She is part of Fleetwood Mac... She has one of the best voices in Rock and Roll for a female artist. She is in theRock and Roll hall of fame as solo and with the band. She lead lady of the this song. Yes she still preforming
I walked next to her in a helipad once. I remember thinking "How can such a voice come from someone so tiny." After other thoughts, of course.
😂😂😂 I bet
I think every male of a certain age probably had those same thoughts😊😊😊😊❤❤
@@patbrewer4205
Probably some females too 😊
Stevie has done some incredible duets with HUGE STARS!!!
Songbird
Whenever I Call You Friend.....is a beautiful song by Stevie Nicks and Kenny Loggins!
Do Not say anything bad about Stevie, I've been in love with her for 50 years. (in my dreams ha)
get in line bro
Yep, me, too. She's closer to my parents' age than mine, and I STILL wouldn't hesitate...
I understand. And she still looks good. No kidding looks good.
The guitar riff in the beginning was sampled by Destiny’s Child for their hit “Bootylicious”! Stevie Nicks even makes a cameo in the official video for Bootylicious! I love Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac and solo!❤❤
Stevie Nicks recently toured with Billy Joel last year and yes, she still tours. She will never retire from touring until she can't do it anymore.
That's a shame touring till the end is never a good look
Stevie Nicks was the soloist on "Dreams".
Her voice is more sensual and sexy than anything; besides all the emotion she can sing with.
I saw them 4 times,, over a 15or,,so,,,years they where Soo beautiful done each time,,, and yes she did do some Solo they all did,,so entertwine with each other,,was the 70s80s and so the keyboardest just passed away,,,
The riff was sampled in Bootyliscious. Stevie Nick's a cameo on that video
Stevie was one of the lead singers in Fleetwood Mac, she branches out to do some solo things (still performing today). The other 2 female singers are two of her best friends, the lead guitarist is Waddy Wachtel one of the finest session/touring guitarists around, also still playing today!
This concert was on HBO in the early eighties. I recorded it on VHS and watched it all the time!
Great HBO concert! Stevie was spectacular!
