- Should be easier to find. Well here it is. Lyrics down here:
Artist: Yana "Yanka" Dyagileva (Яна Станиславовна Дягилева)
(My Sorrow Is Luminous)
Album: Некрофилия (Necrophilia) 1987
Lyrics:

My Sorrow Is Luminous
I keep repeating - for ten times and over and over again:
Nobody knows how fucking bad I feel now
And the TV is hanging from the ceiling
And no one knows how fucking bad I feel now
And I'm so goddamn sick and tired of it all
That it makes me wanna start
This poem again, it's so sad that I
Repeat again: how fucking bad I feel now - Видеоклипы
Hypernormlisation
Thanks Adam Curtis for introducing me to this wonderful artist, shame she has passed...
I am sad to hear this. i learned of it from the exact same place.
And I don't believe in you either.
what is your dream? my dream? yes. a dream?
Heyoka
I like how this song cuts all the bullshit and comes straight to the point. This is depression. It’s not beautiful or complex. Just sad.
And you just get trapped and you’re so frustrated/f’ng snooped how it won’t go away and you just wanna restart.
hpr you all still alive and healthy. She has interesting style, a lot of her song have so straight, simple lyrics like in kid lullaby, but at the same time they remind me of people who already had enough from this world, and don't want to make complex word's about themselves, they just send their simple last word's
So wahr.
..
awesome tune! thanks for posting lyrics & translation! Spent all morning looking for this after watching Hyper Normalisation last night!
I did the same thing, this tune just stuck in my head, even though I couldn't understand a single word. Glad I could help!
same happend to me, I think it is done to be put on repeat for a half an hour
This is one of the most depressing things I've ever heard
But it's absolutely beautiful at the same time.
Life in Russia is just like this song. Very related to our reality..
@@olgai6337 In the West as well. We were just 20 years later.
Just wish it was longer but then again you can always play it on repeat
For hours even
Better in just pure Russian.
Yep what you said
wish it was ten times longer!
Just put it on repeat twice. Instant three- verse pop song.
If you look up someone named James K, she has a slightly longer cover you'd probably really like. That's actually how I first heard this song!
@@wesleybreard6562 - really weak and boring cover with all good elements missing
nah less is more, cause its hits ya
i don't know was it joke, or coincidence but in lyrics she said "i repeat that 10 times, and agane..."
What a beautiful song I thought. Then I saw the lyrics and thought how fucking bleak. RIP.
большинство англоговорящих нашли эту песню в британском документальном фильме «Can't get you out of my head», в котором она использовалась в сцене о перестройке.

Sounds kind of russophobic. Who made English-speakers the sole arbiter of good music?
She committed suicide :(
its very strange story
Very young very sad
Not exactly. Poets in Russia have a short life, not accidentally
@@olgai6337 It is still sad though.

Some of your lyrics are wrong.
The Second to last line should be

Thanks, I guess. I really don't know. But I'll add it.
Only noticed it after trying to learn the lyrics, other than that spot on! Thanks for the upload was looking for this for ages btw

Np, happy to help (it took me a while too haha). And thanks for the correction of the lyrics.

I remember looking up Russian punk on RUclips y e a r s ago & this song came up as the last example. Blessed my life.
I searched for like 2hrs to find a 32kbps version of this album :|
Well worth it
Would you mind sharing where you found it?
I can't find this recording for the life of me. Which album is it?
If you're going by the Egor Letov remastered albums (which pretty much anybody interested in Yanka outside of Russia has to), this particular version is on "Angedoniya" (Ангедония). Personally, I prefer the even more succinct version on the "Domoj" collection (Домой!). Obviously as records would be banned she recorded multiple versions of all of the songs so the albums often feature overlap, so Letov tried to keep the remastered, longer albums from being too repetitious.
I've spent a fair amount of time tracking her stuff down, weirdly I didn't hear of Yanka because of HyperNormalization but instead heard of HyperNormalization because of Yanka, trying to show the song to somebody
You can find this in better quality in Soulseek program.

according to shazam this song is called "Grief Washing is Light" by Janka and the Great October
I think something went wrong with Shazam's auto-translation when they came up with that title? The title in Russian is Печаль моя светла which roughly translates to "My Sadness Is Light" / "My Sadness Is Shining" / "My Sadness Is Luminous". And I got the title "My Sorrow Is Luminous" from a person who speaks both Russian and English so I'm going to trust him over Shazam, since I don't believe this song ever got a real title in English in the first place, and this title is still better than whatever incoherent title Shazam said about grief washing, whatever that is supposed to mean.
Hey there. huge fan of this song. I'm looking for the rights owner of this song to use it in a podcast. any idea who should I contact ?
Hey, yeah check the description, think it's in there who owns the rights (thanks RUclips), not sure how to get in contact though but wish you best of luck!
Why is the category listed as gaming?
Probably something to do with that I usually put up gaming content so RUclips automatically put it in I think.
Okay.
The category seems to have been corrected now.
life is a game we often lose
Which is the definitive Yanka album/collection? Thanks.
The album "Yanka and the Great October" is a pretty stellar collection.

Music against politics, against wars. Although what is happening now is very scary. No one wants innocent deaths, no Russian wants Ukrainians to die. What you see on TV is propaganda and a culture of cancellation. Now keep writing Ukrainian flags to Russian music, thinking it will fix anything.
@@opaxa4756 looks like we found another Russian nazi
Come on guys. Ukrainian or Russian you can both agree that this song is beautiful and sad and has nothing to do with politics or war. @Bryan Carmichael if you want an Ukranian band to check out, very different from this but actually have to do with war, then look up "1914 - The Hundred Day Offensive", (1914 is the band name). But I beg you to have the political discussion somewhere else because this song is about depression and many people can relate to that feeling no matter where they are from! Let music unite. Happy new year.

Doesn't even compare to Yanka imo.
