Hahaha I watched the whole thing! First, the editing is top class! Fun and fast-paced! Also much respect for posting even for the parts that you may feel you were struggling. Love how you use what you know to convey your message. Amazing job! I really enjoyed brainstorming and setting up the questions really. I haven't taught many students who are of intermediate-advanced level, so I learned something new too! I think the "ultimate test" would be us doing some activities/games in full Cantonese ^.^
I agree. The editing is excellent! At first I thought it was too fast, that it didnt give the viewer enough time to guess as well. But better that way than too slow.
I find the dude's Canto accent speaking English to be strangely sexy. He has a low calm tone not very typical to what I'm used to hearing in Chinese accents. Basically I'm jealous of his accent.
I love this! It's so honest. I've been going to the Chinese Corner at the library the past few weeks to keep up my Cantonese with the volunteers and this is exactly what it reminds me of. They are so nice and say my Canto is good but I feel like my brain is a sieve that just keeps forgetting things lol. The way you were like "yes I now remember the word for 'social media' and then partway through it totally slips your mind" is so relatable. tbf whenever my family members talk they pepper in English anyway so to force into Canto-only mode feels like really hard!
That first video one I barely understood anything. I did catch the depression part since I heard it for work haha Answering about social media would be difficult to phrase for sure. Good job! A lot of terms I haven’t heard before. I knew the cheating terms though 😂😂😂
After watching the video, I'm about the same level as you. I have also learned some new things from this video. I am also trying to improve my Cantonese.
This was interesting. Your canto sounds way more fluent than mine (I am a british-born chinese and consider myself to be only semi-fluent in canto). I can carry on basic conversations and can read only a little traditional chinese, but lack a lot of vocab and grammar skills. Funnily enough, I recognised way more phrases (both colloquial and formal), most likely due to my exposure to TVB when I was growing up, and I was able to read most of the words here, but overall, I still did worse and I definitely would've failed the last few questions that involved actually giving in-depth answers in canto XD
Yeah, the two news casts videos were pretty tough. The anchors were speaking so much and so fast with so much information and vocabulary. Had to really pay attention to get all of it. Yeah, I grew up in HK and lived there until 12 years old, and even I had trouble understanding all of that.
6:13 You said "Good Morning" But the characters mean "Breakfast". The first character "Joe" means morning. Second character means "Meal". Together "Morning Meal". In English, breakfast.

Good stuff for us ABC viewers.

I really liked this type of video; hope to see more of these!
I love these colab videos! Kahei is so patient and gentle, and you're so energetic and willing to learn!
You did a great job, Brittany! Big fan of Kahei’s podcast too
how do you do to have emote like that in your comment and username ?!
This is BRUTAL! I would kill to be able to say the things she says in the end, about the positive and negative aspects of things.
Nice combo guys! Great idea!

Great stuff
trying to remember all the cantonese measure words is just insane.

6:14 isn't that 'breakfast' instead of 'good morning'?
Yes, was just going to post that too
Typo on my part post-edit :)
This girl is cute. I like her enthusiasm.
11:26 should be 接單 (take order), not 接班 (take over the shift) :)
at @6:13 it should be 早晨 not 早餐
lol your reading is clearly better than my proof reading
Yeah I thought so as well. 早餐 is breakfast.
That’s not good morning, that’s breakfast!
早餐 how many points for finding errors? 🤣
I love Kahei
your user name is K H...sus >_>
just kidding haha Kahei is great!
@@cantobritt That’s a legit suspicion LOL😂😂 btw your videos are fantastic! Thank you for making so many learning materials for us!
I love you back
I thought that you have heard 二五仔 from HK movie... haha
"Two Five boy" means a "Snitch" or a "Rat" in a gang.
"道"路... but 一"度"門
一齣戲
Hey, you have gotten the rationale of Chinese character and could soon pick up once you read more….
Brittany’s cantonese is super limited lol 😂
