I have been lucky to have had a chance to see Loretta Lynn many times in concert. She was a big part of my childhood. She had the ability to write songs like The Pill and make a statement without being overdramatic. In the 80's when in high school it wasn't cool to listen to County music I proudly wore a Loretta Lynn jacket to school. I may have been the odd ball but at leaat I was a odd ball with good taste. Loretta Lynn will never be replaced. The foundation of Country music was built by singers who didn't need a image consultant. They knew who they were. Traditional country music is the backbone of Country music.

Was Honored to take my Mom to see Loretta Lynn in concert a couple times in Las Vegas. Mom passed in 2017 and the music played at her Memorial Service was Coal Miners Daughter, among some of Loretta's biggest hits. Mom & Loretta are now reminiscing behind those Heavenly Honky Tonk Gates🙏😇🎶 Lvya both🤠💜

I grew up in family that loved country music. Every time we would go on vacation in the car, dad would put on Dolly, Kenny, Loretta, and Conway individually and then with them in their famous duos of Dolly & Kenny, and Loretta & Conway. I know all the words to every one of their songs. I kept all of their albums and still have all of them today. I play them on my stereo I got when I was 10 years old. I’m 52 years old now. I have every album of all four. Someday when I pass on I’m going to pass them onto my kids whom all grew up on listening to them too. My kids also grew up listening to them all in the car when we took vacations. The first concert that I went to was Conway and Loretta, and the second was Dolly and Kenny!

I grew up on Loretta's music. She was my mom's favorite female country singer. Before I was a teenager, my parents were taking me & my siblings to country music concerts. The very first one they took me to was Loretta Lynn. I will never forget that or her. I still listen to her music today. She will be forever in my heart & sadly missed by millions. Fly high & Rest in Peace, Loretta!

Many years ago my husband and I saw Loretta at a small club in New York city. When she walked to the stage she had to walk past the table we were at. She greeted everyone including me and my husband. After she passed my husband she turned back and gave him a big hug, he was thrilled. My husband is a big brawny guy, very much like her husband and this happened not long after her husband's passing. We figured he reminded her of her beloved husband. It is a treasured memory me and my husband will never forget.

My stepfather make a 1967 got me in the country music and I'll just listening to it. And basically I didn't know about country music that much since I was a little boy. And I take my fond memories of it it's just listening to Loretta Lynn. Because basically when Loretta Lynn was the queen of country music she was the architect behind most of the songs that she wrote. And by the way one of her songs somebody somewhere was written by a woman named dylan. And basically what she wrote it that was it. And that's what propelled Loretta Lynn to actually record it and sing it and that's why it was on the country music charts for so long. But I think my real favorite one or shall I say my current favorite one now is a song that I heard with her and Alan Jackson it's called sweet thing which was originally which was originally done by Ernest tubb and Loretta lynn. It was a good song. And it was a well known song as always. But what I liked about that was basically it brought out the voice of Loretta Lynn because she knew exactly what she was going to do. But in 1967 when she recorded the song called don't come home and drinking with loving on your mind came out it basically topped the charts at number one. Her first number one record. That was one of 77 country songs that she had put out over a span of 60 years. But I can tell you that right now it does make an idea or it does have an idea to say hey it won't be long now before Nashville has a street named after her you know a street named after Loretta lynn. And I think that would be appropriate! So all I can say for that is Long live Loretta Lynn and long live the queen of country music!

@@patsyrainey9406 and she will get paid for it handsomely just like she did here in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry for the past 62 years! And besides that I did not know she had a stroke before all this several years back. Well now I know. I think it could be the reason she died was I believe complications from that stroke. But we're not sure. But from what I heard she died in her sleep. You know I've had my old school teacher do that she died 6 weeks before her birthday in 2002 she was going to be 88 years old but she lived a long time and she lived a peaceful life. And besides that my old school teacher was my best friend. Actually my best school teacher that is!

She was and still is my favorite female country singer of all time. I remember that night during her performance the power went out but she didn't let that bother her one bit. She kicked her shoes off and said the show must go on and just continued singing. It's the only time I ever saw her in person but a wonderful memory I will always treasure. I loved her so much! May she RIP forever. I grew up on the music from Coal Miners Daughter and the movie has ALWAYS been a family favorite from back then. When my kids were old enough I made them watch it but they didn't like it as much as we did! My favorite song by Ms. Loretta is "You Ain't Woman Enough".

When I was 13 I was lucky enough to meet Loretta Lynn. It was in Westport theater in Saint Louis, Mo. She had a very bad sore throat and I offered to go get her a cup of tea with honey. She was so incredibly nice. She sang her show and never showed that she didn’t feel well. I will never forget how amazing she was. I really loved her. She will be missed. Mona from Saint Louis

This is so very sad. There will never be another Loretta. She was the greatest. When I made my first ever EP of country covers, I included Coal Miners Daughter as well as songs from Dolly,
Tammy & Lynn Anderson. I sent my CD to Miss Loretta Lynn and couldn't believe it when I got a reply! I received an envelope in the post addressed from Loretta Lynn, Hurricane Mills, containing a thank you card with personal message, and a signed photograph of Miss Loretta. I will cherish this forever. May she be looked after by Gods finest angels & reunited with her past loving family.
I sadly never saw her perform live, but I did see her backstage a few years ago (on the screens) at the CMA awards Nashville. R.I.P Loretta. Love from Arlene, Scotland. xx

I was in a lot of pain do to a kidney stone right after the concert my husband took me to the hospital I was there a week. I wouldn’t trade meeting her for nothing. The one thing I’m so excited about is I know she’s in heaven so I will see her again.

    As a little girl
I remember always looking forward to see her on one of the only 3 channels we had
She had an impact with her music fashion n oh my goodness her beautiful soul a strong woman
See her made me want to be like her at my tender age of 7
Her gowns were life as she sang n walked across stage
Years later she never seemed to stop amazing everyone with her southern charm
Words cannot begin to express my deepest sympathy 😔
To her family she's mom n a wife
To me she was the Queen of Country in my heart
May her gentle soul rest in peace 🌹💐❤️

She down broke barriers for women in the music industry, she said things that needed said but no one else had the guts too. Love and respect, rest in peace Miss Loretta. I have a vague memory in my childhood of my parents having a cabinet stereo that took up a whole lot of space in the living room. But it played all sizes of records, radio, and 8 tracks tapes. I recall thumbing through their collection of LPs and seeing Loretta on the cover in a pink sweater. I cannot recall the name of the album however, but I remember hearing the songs to the point that I can still sing them verbatim to this day. RIP sweet Queen of country music. Your legacy will live on forever.
