It’s a cold world out there, and most people are just trying to make it through the day one way or another. But the sad part is that we have it good here. Especially in comparison to being a hardcore addict that’s living in say a 3rd world country, where the opportunity to survive comes few and far in between!.. Shits just crazy these days and you almost never know what’s inside the drugs out in the streets. Between the fentanyl and that xylazine crap. it's ironic because the demand for fentanyl is a lot lower than for other drugs that are trafficked to that level. at least on the user level. even lower demand with the dealers because some will want their customers to stay alive and not OD. but the users nare addicted to fentanyl now. not heroin, which now isn't strong enough for some of them to even stave off withdrawal. it's become more of a necessity than a demand for them on a personal level. all the same in the end though to the traffickers ofc
@@FUNKYTUNEZ714 People can want other drugs but if it's laced with fentanyl, it'll make it harder to wean off the addiction. To stop people from using drugs entirely - well, that's another beast.

@@islandinthesky oh wow ‘chapter 11’, now I see! The entire world is aware of US corporate law of course so we all know what that is. If US media says they’re bankrupt then that is the message we’re getting.
I'm 69 and I was a heroin addict for 17 years untill January 22, 1988. This January it'll be 36 years but within that time I had 3 short relapses totalling 6 months. I feel incredibly blessed especially seeing what phentenol has done to our youth. The last time I used I OD'd on phentenol. I woke the next day on the floor face down. I saw 3 men die from overdoses of Heroin in shooting galleries in Harlem but back in the 70's it was unusual to see that. I OD'd on Heroin 10x in 17 years. Now it's like playing Russian Roulette.
I think it's important to understand that these people are only filling the demand for a problem that is already there. Until the politicians actually take accountability this will never be resolved
That's not the case for Fentanyl.. it's added to other drugs to increase potency and addiction. It's added to fake Oxycontin, crack and meth. People buying it don't even know it's in there or if it's in safe amounts because some dude is mixing it up i a trash can.
Fentanyl trade started because of America when large pharmaceutical companies outsourced the production to China to cut costs by sharing the drug patents. Well, Chinese got smarter and they are in the business of making money. So they will sell to anyone who is buying, not just U.S companies.
I was born and raised in Poughkeepsie but I left for good in 2017. I've been battling addiction since 2012 and I now live in Houston. I'm currently still using, but trying to find my way out of it. Seeing what happened to my hometown is heartbreaking and I'm in tears right now. My prayers are going out to every and anyone with this problem. ❤

It’s fake as if fatty gonna fly out to New York like that hahha plus you actually think they would put themselves at risk like that? Not only are you putting a target on yourself from the triads but from 2 cartels lol all paid actors
If a journalist group can find these people, then of course the authorities know lol. They most likely profiting in some way so they don't care/stay out of it. Maybe make scheduled arrests that the higher ups purposely give up
Drugs will always exist but right now a major issue is how cheap and easily available some of the chemical components are and thus the scale of the operations and how confident the people moving it are because there's layers of separation between them and the guy that actually smuggles and sells it and the people who use institutions to move the money. It's just too available and too cheap overall, so makes it even more lucrative to push it as a business. The goal of making it NOT available doesn't make sense and isn't realistic but right now it's everywhere, in massive supplies and the harder stuff is tainting other drugs too, which is why even coke is more dangerous now. So what they really need to do is get some Navy Seals / DEVGRU type of shizz on all these high level operations and thin out the big suppliers, importers, exporters and make anyone low level extremely afraid. Plus another issue is the US government doesn't want to recognize cartels in the same legal level of some other bad groups we've taken care off in the Middle East for example because it would open up more immigration for asylum seekers; with that legal definition of these groups, the government would be able to use more force and more agencies against them. So they're right now it's mostly just band-aid stuff instead of actually taking the fight to them. Plus there's some historical aspects to the drug problem that have made the situation worse long-term; like how low level drugs were used by the government as a tool to control certain populations/demographics and/or used by some 3-letter agencies to fund other agendas in other countries without it being known or on the books by most even in charge of oversight.@@davidhopkins848

Especially in comparison to being a hardcore addict that’s living in say a 3rd world country, where the opportunity to survive comes few and far in between!.. Shits just crazy these days and you almost never know what’s inside the drugs out in the streets. Between the fentanyl and that xylazine crap. People really out here looking like the night of the living dead unfortunately..
Dutchess county ny is the highest county for drug overdoses?? Come on man
@srachel Yeah that part was probably embellished a bit for filming. But I believe at one point Dutchess definitely was the highest before the opioid crisis. Best I could find that was semi recent was Sullivan County had the highest
@@prescotthancock5907 I’ll agree that it’s up there and back in the day it was all coming from beacon and Poughkeepsie…and I can’t blame Sullivan county…there’s nothing to do there besides drugs lmaooo
Great reporting right here. Excellent coverage. 🙏
Every 10 videos or so, a good one will come on Vice. This is a good one......
As long as the demand is there, there will always be supply.
Problem is American keep buying ..in they try to blame Mexico …or Chinese if they stop buying we won’t have this problem
I demand quaaludes but haven't found any since the 1990s. How do you explain that?
Oh wow look everybody, my man just solved addiction!
it's ironic because the demand for fentanyl is a lot lower than for other drugs that are trafficked to that level. at least on the user level. even lower demand with the dealers because some will want their customers to stay alive and not OD. but the users nare addicted to fentanyl now. not heroin, which now isn't strong enough for some of them to even stave off withdrawal. it's become more of a necessity than a demand for them on a personal level. all the same in the end though to the traffickers ofc
@@FUNKYTUNEZ714 People can want other drugs but if it's laced with fentanyl, it'll make it harder to wean off the addiction. To stop people from using drugs entirely - well, that's another beast.
Vice news you are doing us a great favour for risking yourselves so we can learn about what other places won’t tell us. Mad respect keep going vice!
Man I feel for Lela. My uncle also named Jason died a few years ago after using fentanyl laced heroine. He was only 42 and left behind two young children.
Thank you for all you do it takes a real person to step out of their own personal time and help other people with addiction
Apart from Isobel Yeung and her team of journalists, Anthony Anderson also deserve his flowers for being there for addicts to recover 🌻🌻 He is an angel heaven sent, guarding and saving lives on a daily basis. Wishing him and recovering addicts much love, joy and health 💗
isobel a uncle chan or anti china stooge.....14k are a Hong kong gang ..nothing to do with china
Mad respect for Anthony Anderson for his work. And of course the fantastic journalism.
Except all the interviews are staged..
I have total respect for these reporters...Great Work...Thank you.
this is amazing, and really motives me to learn
Glad u guys are doing reports like these again ❤
Undercover in Mexico..... Damn VICE playing with Fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow, I respect your investigation in such dangerous location. I pray you be safe and protected always.
I agree with all here. We are all in indebtedness to these types of documentaries. All that much more sad though with the recent developments with Vice.
My heart stopped when I read Vice filed for bankruptcy. I thought we would never get this kind of journalism again. Who or whatever helped you stay afloat, you're a GOAT!
How tf is that?? They should have plenty of money this is Vice world news man
They just filed chapter 11... they didn't say they were going out of business....
Probably pulling the same kind of shenanigans these criminal organizations abuse
@@WLF0Xlol
@@islandinthesky oh wow ‘chapter 11’, now I see! The entire world is aware of US corporate law of course so we all know what that is. If US media says they’re bankrupt then that is the message we’re getting.
Praying for Isobel’s safety, we applaud her work.
Thank you Anthony for getting out there and trying to help people and save lives
Always opening my eyes to a world I know nothing about. This was intense. But I’m left feeling that the world is helpless to these criminals
This is why I love Vice. Vice tells the story in a way that no other network in the US will. Stay safe and thank you for sharing this story
All the interviews are staged.. so you like fake journalism I see.
Isobel is such a fantastic journalist.
beauty with brains
This is the type of content I subscribe to on this channel
This is great journalism
I'm 69 and I was a heroin addict for 17 years untill January 22, 1988. This January it'll be 36 years but within that time I had 3 short relapses totalling 6 months. I feel incredibly blessed especially seeing what phentenol has done to our youth. The last time I used I OD'd on phentenol. I woke the next day on the floor face down. I saw 3 men die from overdoses of Heroin in shooting galleries in Harlem but back in the 70's it was unusual to see that. I OD'd on Heroin 10x in 17 years. Now it's like playing Russian Roulette.
Facts 100 💯 and dangerous

I think it's important to understand that these people are only filling the demand for a problem that is already there. Until the politicians actually take accountability this will never be resolved
That's not the case for Fentanyl.. it's added to other drugs to increase potency and addiction. It's added to fake Oxycontin, crack and meth. People buying it don't even know it's in there or if it's in safe amounts because some dude is mixing it up i a trash can.
Yeah it’s junkie problem, people aren’t just bright
@@Max-tz9gc it's got nothing to do with intelligence. It's a quality of life problem.

An oversimplistic, shallow, and ignorant take on the drug problem. Educate yourself.
it just gets deeper and deeper
We can truly say that the drug business will never end. 🤔
You are on point.
Fentanyl trade started because of America when large pharmaceutical companies outsourced the production to China to cut costs by sharing the drug patents. Well, Chinese got smarter and they are in the business of making money. So they will sell to anyone who is buying, not just U.S companies.
this is what makes vice so good. please do More documentary/videos in this style!
Fantastic detective work.
She's putting her life at risk for exposing the footage to the Investigator.
Stuff like this is why I haven’t unsubbed yet from VICE News.
you got this stay motivated! 🤞🏾
I haven't had vice content like this for an entire decade ong
Isobel Yeung has consistently done great journalism on here and really feels like she is taking Vice back its roots that made it so popular to begin with. Keep it up!
This is real Shane Smith style reporting. Glad to see Vice still has some good work to be done.
Vice is back!!!
Thank you Vice.
Imagine that some random journalists can do more investigative work than national authorities
Maybe make scheduled arrests that the higher ups purposely give up
The war on drugs will never be won there will always be someone else to replace the supply
Fiction that includes war, war on drugs, often presents winners and losers. Wars are fictional.
Yeah, with worse and worse products that do worse and worse social and physical damage for less and less relief or whatever. Stop this insanity!
It can be won, but not the way we are fighting it.
@@neal.karn-jones how ?
I respect VICE News for the great amount of work they are doing. And TBH it's the same kind of issue faced by every country at this moment. Hope this investigation rings bells to every authority worldwide. ☮
This is some OG vice right here.
You're a good man Anthony; you restore faith in both me and Im sure many more people that there are truly good and decent souls out there. The height of respect to you brother.
DAMN! This was an amazing piece, I was literally holding myself with tension. Outstanding reporting, stay safe VICE.
This is some intense investigating. Vice has an immense amount of courage and integrity to dig so deep into this mess. It's actually quite horrifying how organized crime can basically run circles around law enforcement and governments.
I lost someone close to me to addiction. Guys like Anthony who do the daily work of checking up on local addicts to keep the door to recovery open are unsung heroes. It can't be easy watching people you know flush their lives down the drain day by day. Making a difference for even one person is such a miracle.
Except the fact all the interviews are staged..
Old skool vice let’s go!
I’ve seen Roy on another video. He really has got a lot going on. Good luck brother 👍🏴
Just as my drug dealing friend wouldn’t sell if he didn’t have clients, Mexico wouldn’t have Cartels if it weren’t for the drug addicts in the US.
Correct, people commenting, concentrate too much on what the Chinese/Mexican Cartels are doing, instead of concerning themselves with the real root of the issue, US demand for drugs.
Stupid statement.
vice is insane for this😭
fucking nuts. Isabella is a beautiful fn badass
Som of it’s fake
Awesome documentary.
Best vice video in ages, was dope. Few questions make you think it's fake like high ranking certified Chinese mafia members even if they like you walking you through their whole operations telling you bare details for now reason but still overall good doc

@@robertmoray988 Yeah, I worry too that she might be putting herself in danger.

Consider that Chinese gangsters may not have the habit of watching English reporting other than mainstream media.
She also used to report for Chinese news channels. And even if she didn't, no place on this planet is that isolated. I watch news from other countries all the time. I wouldn't think it would be worth the risk just because one assumes they don't watch HBO ever. @@Yaoiekimi

@@ricardomeijer7164 Exactly, these people are actually missing the point that, the Chinese are pushing drugs into the US to hurt our country. They're laughing at us right now and I guarantee you, the Triads are basically an arm of the Chinese government (CCP). Also losing 100k people a year to drug overdoes isn't that bad compared to our total population. Anybody who's willing to use heroin or fentanyl knows the consequences. I feel bad for the people who unknowingly take fentanyl and die but in LA, tons of people are shooting up for shits and gigs.
