Great study method for fretboard memorization! I’m going to try this with an added wrinkle of assigning the strings in order to my fingers according to the PIMA idea. I think it might help connect muscle memory to the fretboard layout. Worth a try…

As an old fart, I followed your instructions very well. But I'm an old fart.
It takes me a little more time to do that metronome rhythm.
Which makes me realize that kids that went to Band Camp really had another skill that I never knew about. And I'm trying to do this when I should be worrying if my dentures are in place? LOL.

Does this work for both high g and low g?
Yes, the notes are the same but on high G the notes on the G strings are an octave higher.
