She frequently buys a violin, uses it for a couple of concerts then auctions it for charity. She appears to be equally adept with either instrument. And gorgeous with it :-)
I kind of get what you say. She might not be the best violin performer in the world, but she's certainly a better music performer than many of the best violinist you can name. She gives us not only the pleasure to listen to one instrument, but she thinks about the whole experience. She's trying to think outside the classical music box, if you get what I mean. And not being honoured by the classical music fraternity, I couldn't care less. Being part doesn't define anything.
