Still listening to this in 2024. This album has stood the test of time. This is one you have to have on vinyl.
The whole concept, the song, the lyrics, the video, the graphics, the typeface, the use of the bold colour against the stock footage, all this in combination are a work of art. This transcends Rock N Roll. Now go watch the best film of the 1980's "Out of the Blue".
A film way better than "Easy Rider", by the way.

Amazing film. RIP Linda Manz! Primal's certainly know classic film, another example being 1971's Vanishing Point (Kowalski).

Cheesy beanos... Heinz Baked Beans and cheddar cheese on toast - you can make toasted cheese then cover with beans, or, the best option is putting the beans and cheese in the pan together (then pour over the toast). Some HP Brown Sauce, too... Genius. 🤗

Superb song, superb album, remember when this came out in late 1999 (I think)..and the music played on the tv and radio was awash with rubbish like steps and bewitched, to the point you'd think that was the only music that existed, extrnmtr was such a breath of fresh at the time it came out...

It was an album with a selection of *great* 'Scream tracks on it; though not as cohesive an album as say Vanishing Point or Evil Heat. I never used to listen to it all in one go.

Cold War thriller - love the whole concept - lyrics doomsday scenario - served on carriers as an aircraft handler so apprecaite the sense of urgency and power that is portrayed.
The voice is Linda Manz sampled from Dennis Hopper's movie Out of the Blue. She also played Peewee in The Wanderers.

Screamadelica, Vanishing Point and Xtrmntr. Not in any particular order. Blend them into a triple album if you like. Outstanding musical statements.
Played the album over and over and over. Then the Two Lone Swordsmen and MBV remixes. Stands up strong still.
McGee backed the album and the band to the hilt. Imho Xtermintor was Creation Rcds best ever release. Sure many will cite Oasis and JAMC but this long player was high Art!
It's up there with Loveless I'll give you that.
XTRMNTR was the first truly great album of this century, i've never heard anything quite like it before or since.
Julian House x Primal Scream equals design heaven. EVERYTHING Julian designed for this album...the cover, the promos and single sleeve art was awesome. To this day, some of my all time favorite album art. I was big into the Primals from their hippy dippy mersey stuff to this more synthetic aggression. I love how they switch it up every album. Back to the gospel druggy blues...then to synthetic bloops and bleeps repeat. Bobby...keep doing your thing.

The sample used in the opening and close of this song is from an amazing indie film called Out of the Blue from 1980 starring and directed by Dennis Hopper it was the best thing he ever did by a country mile

I remember hearing this in 2000 on CD. An it was just a claustrophobic aggressive , intelligent funking ball of rage. It gave me a 21st century panic attack .. millennium life crisis. obviously I didn’t stop listening to it for months .. masterpiece.
