went to see this at the cinema and, as I was leaving, the man in front of me did the jumping heel click up the corridor to perfection. We all let out a cheer. Was quite fun. :)
This song makes me cry. Finding the light in the darkness of your life... On a grown-up level, it's so deep. And, let's face it, Mary Poppins was always there to save the adults.
Kristina Bowers That's sad. I feel sorry for you that you can't appreciate the symbolism and can't truly understand and express yourself...😔The op was amazing and so true. Definitely nothing to make you "cringe."
Please take my advice and watch Saving Mr Banks. It's the backstory of P L Travers (Mary Poppins writer). It's about how she wrote the book to be about the adults and not the kids. Please watch it. It's great
Lin's Cockney accent fulfills my heart! I just can't... it's adorable!!! This movie has also made me fall in love with Emily Blunt. She is absolutely amazing. The entire movie really is PRACTICALLY PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!
BurrShotHam711[Jenna] Unlike Dick playing Bert, Lin fooled me. He pulled it off closer than Dick did - until I watched interviews late last night, I didn't realise Lin was American.
It is possibly even worse than Dick Van Dyke's accent... This was intentionally bad too, definitely not award worthy though as the Oscars don't give satirical rewards.
Absolutely a must see for all. I felt like the child I was when I watched Julie Andrews over 50 years ago. She's a tough act to follow but Emily was superb and made Poppins her own.
Actually no....cockney rhyming slang is way HARDER. You don't say either the intended word OR the rhyming word, but only the first part OF the rhyming word. For instance: "Ping" (pong)= strong. "Tiddley" (wink)= drink. "Rubba" (dub)= pub. "Chevy" (chase)= face.
The last movie i remember seeing with my mom is this one. The original Mary Poppins was my favorite movie growing up, and I love my mom and dad. This was a special day for me, seeing this in theaters.
Is nobody gonna talk about the fact that the same guy who wrote an entire musical about being an American founding father, and bashing the British, is now playing a British guy? (I guess he really did mean it when he said you'll be back)
True, he was really great and definitely had an energy that brought the movie up on my list but I would love it the same if he hadnt been in it. He wasnt the only good actor so show the others some respect too, damn it.
I like this song. Whenever I feel sad or gloomy about something, all it takes is one listening of this song to cheer me up & brightening my mood. God bless "cheer up" Disney songs
I'd like to personally dedicate this tune to fellow Phantom Of The Opera fans like myself. Because even though it's not on Broadway, there are always armature & professional productions performed in every state in America so The Music Of The Night will never be over for every one of us.
I’m sorry, but I would just love to be in a movie/musical with Lin. It would definitely make everything amazing. I would just watch him, but then forget I have a line in front of him 😂😂😍😍
So we had this bowl. Rabbit in a hole. Then it fell and broke. Bicycle spoke. So we took it to a shop. Like a lollipop. And went upside down. That's a circus clown. Then went to the bank. Rattle and clank. Got lost in a fog. Lump on a log. Until we found a friend. To stand and defend. Who took us on a trip. Snapped a horse's whip.
Jayden Garcia: First, I love your profile picture. Second, Ben Fankhauser plays one of the leeries! When the lamplighters lift Mary Poppins down from the lamppost, look to the left. Ben's wearing a red shirt, a gray vest, and a newsie-type cap.
I saw a still photo from the scene. If that wasn't Ben, it was his clone. Wait... that means riff duets between two David Jacobs. Crutchie gets to hear "Poor Guy's Head Is Spinning" in stereo. This has possibilities.
Damn I am late haha, but in forth grade when this movie come out (during the holidays!) I saw it at the movies and my friend saw it as well. For months we were harassing our parents by singing it at every chance we had, we even went and sang it on the street after school, (we got 8 dollars each haha)
They'd already done that in the first movie... This was never intended as a remake it's a sequel... The one thing I liked about this movie was that they'd made reference to the first movie. This is 2018's version of Step In Time.. The calling cards to the previous movie is woven throughout
Lin doing that little kick and jump after the song as hes walking away is my religion.

I tried that kick AND IT IS HARD

Trip a light fantastic is an old way of saying to dance. I wish we would still talk like that in 2k19.
Dana Mullis lol true after all she only left when the kids father remember his childhood

Lin with a Cockney accent is pure gold, he pulled it off perfect =) i hope he gets his Oscar for this
BurrShotHam711 [Jenna] No he did not, but sure.

Love Lin but the accent was ridiculous lol

Not perfect, but miles better than Dick Van Dyke’s accent in the original.

Don't you mean "The *ladder* for sure?"
I've seen this movie twice already!!! I love the fact that their are hints in the new score from the old score. It brings out the kid in me😍😍
Anyone else really love how Lin sings “trip a little light fantastic with me~!”
Just me okay...
Me!
I am pretty sure literally everyone here does
If they make this at Broadway COUNT ME IN
Omg yes!
I love the way he says "little"
Only Lin can make a song 7 minutes long without it being boring
Listening to this makes me want to go and see the movie again. I really enjoyed this film.
Jack your Hamilton is showing
XD
I believe that Lin played Jack and Hamilton.
Ava Barlow yep yep, and with Ham he both wrote the musical and did the role of Ham. So yep his Hamilton is showing
No thats in The Cover Is Not The Book rap part 😂
My personal headcanon Jack has some dna of the Hamilton’s
